I knew a linguist who would always talk about epenthetics. He is convinced that "hamster" will be officially spelled "hampster" in about twenty years because that pronunciation is so ubiquitous and phonetic pronunciation eventually admits itself through official dictionary changes.

 

He would wear a "save the hamster" shirt.
