I wonder why anyone is a cop for a living.

There is likely two answers.

1.  They truly want to help people

2.  They like the power trip

It's my hope that number 1 greatly outweighs number 2

The DA is hilarious... "nonviolent protest." IOW, wait for them to beat you and torch your  house! So what if they were guilty of B&E, you should have taken what they were dishin' out.

Charges filed against Mark and Patricia McCloskey

St. Louis prosecutors on Monday filed charges against Mark and Patricia McCloskey, the Central West End couple seen pointing guns at protesters in late June.

Patricia and Mark McCloskey are each facing one count of Unlawful Use of a Weapon - Flourishing, sources told News 4.

"It is illegal to wave weapons in a threatening matter at those participating in nonviolent protest, and while we are fortunate this situation did not escalate into deadly force, this type of conduct is unacceptable in St. Louis," Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner said in a statement. "We must protect the right to peacefully protest, and any attempt to chill it through intimidation will not be tolerated."

Pretty sad state of affairs. This shouldn't even be a consideration, and yet here we are, watching a local government grab guns and charge homeowners while letting the 'nonviolent protesters" who tore down their gate and threatened to kill them be seen as the victims.

I'm very glad to not be living in that schitthole.

Bodycam footage has been released on the police shooting last night in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. Three police officers, one black man, one white man and one woman, stopped a vehicle being driven by 20-year-old Daunte Wright. Wright was wanted on an arrest warrant.

Initially Wright got out of his car, but then apparently changed his mind, fought with police officers, climbed back into his car and drove away. As the officers were struggling with Wright, the police woman attempted to tase him. Evidently she accidentally pulled out her gun rather than her taser and shot Wright with it.

It doesn’t appear that there was any racial angle in last night’s fatal encounter at all.

But that doesn't matter to the 'protesters', who need no real reason to break the law.

THAT is why last summer mattered.

So there shouldn't be consequences for her actions?  Her mistake cost someone's life.

Remember the grandfather who accidentally dropped his granddaughter 11 stories on a Royal Caribbean Cruise ship? Yeah, even he faced consequences.

I assume you're not defending the cops negligence but it somewhat reads that way.  I guess you're just pointing out that there wasn't a racial element to it but they protested/looted anyways.  We need more funding for training as it's pretty screwed up that a cop can't distinguish between a taser and a gun in the heat of a confrontation.

I agree with this...I would also suggest that the urban community also requires more training on how to act when pulled over...I have no doubt that 90% of police abuse or shootings could be avoided if they simply complied...unfortunate for the young man, but I never would have acted as he did...

“Its not about race...it’s about culture”

And right now, urban communities around the country embrace a criminal culture against each other, and disrespect for authority...

You should protest his behavior.

Maybe get 50-100 of your friends, go to the city where he lives, burn down the local dunkin, toss some m80s at some locals, loot the local Walmart, target, flip some cars, stomp some others, and throw bricks and chunks of concrete at a couple elderly ladies if you can find some.  If you can, destroy the small businesses some industrious individuals started.  You know, keep it peaceful-ish.

Just please, mask up, stop the spread because together we can do this.

As the new Summer collections and fashions are in the stores its a great time for looting.  Why not look you're best this Summer?

Sarcasm aside, the loud and clear message in the aftermath of these incidents is the government refuses to perform the most basic function of the social contract between its citizens and the government. And that is to maintain civilized order.

I'll bet gun purchase and background check stats go through the roof during the second half of April when they're reported next month along with membership increases for militia groups.  Simple cause and effect.  People see these responses as a potential threat to their safety and respond to it.  And on another issue these rioting mobs provide gratuitous examples for the need of automatic weapons.

As local, state, and federal officials everywhere have demonstrated they have no desire or will to maintain some semblance of social order the message is clear to businesses and residents of these communities along with the rest of the country.  You're on your own and they are not fit to govern.
