The GOP Nomination--The Donald and So Much More!

The funny thing being that his justification of using eminent domain is more socialist than anything.

No no no. He'll make America great again by using eminent domain on foreign lands. How else is he going to get Mexico pay for the wall, China to bend over on trade or take over ISIS oil fields?

Do you have me confused with someone? I think you must.

I wasn't trying to imply that you supported him. Just that I figured you would be repulsed at anyone who would support eminent domain. Considering your libertarian leanings.

It physically hurt, reading that.

The thought of getting Mexico to pay for the wall is pretty far out on a limb, but there are some big bargaining chips if such a negotiation were ever to happen. We could ban or substantially discourage travel and tourism to Mexico, We could make big trade adjustments and could probably greatly reduce money being sent there. That would probably be more than enough to get them to the table. On the other hand, their corrupt leadership might not give a rats ass if we stifle portions of their economy.

Trump is the expected outcome of making money equivalent to speech.

He's the one candidate combatting that, actually. Everyone else relies on big donors.

Trump's a voice for the small-minded in the Republican party. The neo-conservative social-conservative types.

That's all he is, no more no less.

lol, you have no clue about his supporters. Neocons hate Trump and we hate neocons. Some of us are socially conservative, true, but Carson and Huckabee grab more of those.

Pinning down Trump's support is tough. If you look at polling, he has broad appeal across all divisions - conservative Republicans, moderate Republicans, old, young, male, female.

Trump’s support spans nearly all demographic groups:

 Ideology – Trump leads Walker 27% to 16% among very conservative voters; has 22% support among somewhat conservative voters to 14% for Bush and 12% for Walker; and takes 28% of the moderate to liberal voter compared to 20% for Bush.

 Tea Party – Tea Party supporters back Trump (35%) over Walker (15%) and Cruz (11%). Non-Tea Party supporters split their top support between Trump (20%) and Bush (16%).

 Age – Trump (26%) has a clear lead over Bush (15%) and Walker (12%) among voters age 50 and older. Those under 50 years old also prefer Trump (26%) over Walker (10%) and Bush (9%). Monmouth University Polling Institute 8/3/15 2

 Gender – Trump leads among both male and female Republicans, with men (32%) giving him a large advantage over Bush (13%) and Walker (11%). Women (20%) give him a narrower lead over Walker (12%) and Bush (11%).

not politically correct

Washington outsider Remember back when Obama ran as one in 2008?

strong bold statements uncluttered by nuance or an understanding of history (no professor Obama weakness) seriously dude. Obama talks out his ass almost as much as Trump or Biden

businessman (how often have I heard that government should be run like a business)

Born rich and got richer (no community organizer here) Yeah because Obama was born in the hood in Chicago and pulled himself into the Ivy League

Trump should win the republican nomination in a walk

Bolded a few similarities that you mis-interpreted.

And the biggest similarity, and the most dangerous personality flaw in both, is that they both display Autocratic tendencies

I didn't say he was supporting it, I said he's the logical outcome of a political system that is bought and paid for by big donors. The GOP has no one to blame but themselves for Trump and what he's going to do to their electoral chances when he runs as an independent.

I don't know of a single neocon who doesn't think that Trump is a hucksterish carnival barker.

Correct. Both are thin skinned intellectual lightweight narcissists.

Ah, I misunderstood. In that case, I agree.

As for Trump running 3rd-party, the impact is probably overblown, imo. If Trump sits out, I don't think Jeb can capture enough of the Trump vote to win in the general, anyway.

If the GOP is serious about winning the election, they need to kick Jeb to the curb first and foremost.

Jeb is not gonna win it. It will be between Rubio, Cruz or Kasich. Jeb would have to make one hell of a turn around for that to happen, and frankly I just don't see it in him.
