So the state can simply tell the people, take this amount of money for your land and property or we'll just take it another way? Hmmm...

Really?! I guess that's why I am still battling the state of NC for eminent domain and the payout and treatment of the land.

You don't have to take their offer. If the state ever asks you money never say anything back. Don't give them one single stupid number that they can base anything on.

Eminent domain is quite simple, it's not that bad.

But its the Government, they know how to better manage resources, land, and wealth than the great unwashed masses.

But then you are the one who rails against the unwashed idiocracy. Go figure.

And it should strive to do a better @ managing natural resources and land than the private individual... It's been working for the last 239 years in this country. The gov't strives to be a better steward.

I simply don't understand why people get so butt hurt. It's like jboyst said about ED. ED, did I just say ED? If anybody knows about that, it's him. ;-P

Yes, and tonight we can expect to hear how government has made our lives better and how it can make our lives better still.

You could be blown back to the stone age. Ingrate.

No. I get your beliefs. I get your arrogance. I get it very well.

No you don't.

If you got it, you wouldn't describe it as arrogance; and you'd understand that the more self-sufficient an individual is, the more productive they are.

The real arrogance can be found in those who believe they know what's best for society, and feel they should implement it with the force of government.

It's not arrogance to believe that people know what's best for themselves.

Quite the opposite: it's the height of arrogance to believe that you know what's best for people.

Gee, I guess you don't remember when the lefty USSC justices ruled for ED in the infamous Kelo v New London case. <_<

Oh by the way, that property is now a vacant lot.
