Cut Drew, sign Kurt Warner

Recommended Posts

I keep flashing back to Warner, just a few years ago, league MVP, unbelievable stats, great field vision, arm strength.....he thinks he's got a lot left.

He is motivated,  Drew has been motivated, but never really got r done.

Any thoughts on such a nonsensical concept?

Snoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooozzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzeeeeee.....

You think Warner would come cheap? That would be assuming no one else is interested in his services....are you factoring in the cost of getting rid of Bledsoe, on top of the cost to sign Warner? Is Warner that much bettter than Bledsoe at this point in his carreer? Do you really think Warner has that great a "field vision", or did he benefit heavily from having a great offensive line, and maybe the fastest trio of WR's in recent NFL history? Isn't Warner leaving the NY Giants because he doesn't want to sit behind Eli Manning? Do you think he would rather sit behind JP Losman?

Does Warner still seem like a good option?

We were all saying the same thing about Drew before he came here.  Don't get me wrong, Kurt managed to land a few "W" with a Gilbride led offense.  He deserves some sort of award for that.

As much as we all hate Kevin Gilbride, remember, he has been the OC for a number of very productive offenses. Ultimately, he never won anything, but a lot of QB's have "managed to land a few "W" with a Gilbride led offense". His offenses tend to be very pass happy. His QB's usually like playing for him. It is that he just doesn't seem to know when enough is enough. The Oilers run and shoot (Warren Moon, Lorenzo Neal, Ernest Givens, etc) was an exciting offense, and the Oilers were great to watch. They made the playoffs every year. In the end though, they were always done in by the fact that they could not control the clock when they needed to hold on to win...

There's no friggin gap! If we're going to cut Drew we need a veteran backup in case JP has to come out or miss a game or 2. If JP is not ready, Drew will not be cut, if JP's ready he will, it's that simple.

Judging from what Moulds said JP is ready.

I'm sick of hearing that a second year QB has to experience growing pains until he plays a # of real games. The recent success stories of 2nd year QBs who didn't or barely played their rookie seasons should have put that myth to bed. Brady won the Super Bowl his 2nd year with no experience his rookie year. Successful sophomore seasons in recent years include Culpepper, Vick, Leftwich, Brooks, and even though he had other league experience, Warner.
