Interesting that he was drafted in 2007, yet played for the Bills in 1991....

Rogers, who was drafted by the Lions seventh overall in 2007, played four years in the NFL with Detroit, Buffalo and Tampa Bay.

...

He returned to the NFL in 1991 with the Bills but was out of the league for good after playing with the Buccaneers in 1992 .

He was found at his home. Likely from a heart attack.

He had got charged with vehicular manslaughter and spent a year in jail for it. Lions cut him. after his trial and time in jail Buffalo gave him a shot and he played a few games for them.

Since then he has had numerous alcohol related offenses.

his older brother was also a football player and 1st round pick who got rookie honors. He died of a coccaine OD that caused a heart attack.

Yeah, I have to agree with both of you. It's better that he died now, before he killed any more innocent people.............The laws on DUI are insane. You would think killing 3 kids would get you about 20 years.

The juror who got lauded for writing a good summary in the Buffalo News of why the jury in the Corasanti case acquitted him - got busted himself for DUI in April this year..............Then, the other day the judge didn't convict him of a misdemeanor but just of a violation. He got some minor fine and 90 days without his license.............So, what did he do - he went out and celebrated - and got busted for DUI that night! Just hours after getting the slap on the wrist..........And, now he can't be charged with felony DUI, because the friggin judge only gave him a violation. Otherwise, the 2nd one would be a felony.

I remember the father of at least one of the kids coming to this board and excoriating The Bills for signing him. He was justly bitter at the light sentencing that the POS received. The dad was lightly abused here for his comments, but history and Mr. Rogers own actions bore out what a slime ball character he was.

He was signed by the Bills in 1991. Had Al Gore invented TBD already by then?

Good riddance...

He spent a year in a jail after he killed three teenagers in a DUI crash in October 1988, in Pontiac, Mich. His blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit, and he was found guilty of negligent homicide.

He returned to the NFL in 1991 with the Bills but was out of the league for good after playing with the Buccaneers in 1992 .

Rogers was sentenced to another year in prison in December 2011 after his sixth drunk driving conviction. He was arrested this month on a domestic violence charge after his wife accused him of hitting her, the Times reported. Rogers pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Rogers’ older brother, Don Rogers, was an All-American safety at UCLA and was a 1984 first-round pick of the Cleveland Browns. At age 23, Don Rogers died in 1986 of a heart attack caused by a cocaine overdose.
