lol.....that's sooooo revenge of the nerds.

I was captain of the defense and thought I could out smart the coach. Well under estimated his resourcefulness and he got the last laugh, and let me tell you he never had so much fun making us run them devil crab sprints lol

I still talk to him from time to time and he still remembers it and gloats. He has no memory of the actual equation, just his double crab sprints and duck walks that had many puking lol. He's a fun coach though and still coaches to this day

Couric releases some of teos voicemails, for those still doubting authenticity. Also some of her impressions of the interview. Essentially that he's a naive kid and they were VERY good at this scam.

Winner Winner! HA, awesome answer

Nice attempt...but you are incorrect in terms of the math equation it presents. Physically a dollar doesn't magically disappear into oblivion, so if $30 existed at the beginning physically, it will still at the end. However, this is a mathematical anomaly and the correct mathematical answer is "no solution" using real numbers. From a math point of view, the 3 friends only paid $27 and the bell hop only has $2 totaling $29...the 30th dollar no longer exists in the equation despite having originated in it.

I actually now disagree with the math answer of "no solution" and now fully support the new answer by "IcansleepwhenI" of "Ralph has it" and am going to petition to have the official answer changed to that HA

I respectfully disagree. First, if each man paid $9 then the hotelier is holding $27, but he is not, he gave $5 from the original $30 back so he is holding $25. Hence, your math "question" is based on a false premise (holding $27 versus holding $25) ....de facto this makes the ability to answer the "question" as situated impossible. Again, cute but your question was flawed by my accurate logic.

Take a Logic 101 course, you will get it.

A week after news of the Manti T'eo hoax broke, NFL.com reports some Washington Redskins players were contacted by a fan using the pseudonym "Sidney Ackerman", as well as a photo avatar stolen from porn actress C.J. Miles (as opposed to the NBA

Via NFL.com

According to multiple sources, the conversations occurred mostly through Twitter's direct messaging function. But in some instances, "Ackerman" also sent separate photos of Miles to players' cellphones, never suggesting the photos were not her own, as conversations endured on and off for months.

"If you think about it, a lot of them are single guys, and they see somebody who looks good in a picture or something," Redskins director of player development Phillip Daniels said. "In many cases, it involves someone who is a fan of the team, so they'll start talking about the team. You have to recognize that something just isn't right."

According to the report, at least four players engaged in online correspondence with "Ackerman," who used the handle "@RedRidnH00d," and several of them attempted to arrange in-person meetings. This and other suspicions led to an investigation by NFL security and Daniels posting the following memo in the team's locker room in mid-December.

"His message did not waver: Stay away from @RedRidnH00d. Avoid her on Twitter. Avoid her on Instagram. Do not converse with this person on any social media platform. She is not who she claims to be."

While "Ackerman" may have had more dubious intentions than just getting to grandmother's house safely, the story says that she didn't ask players for money or do anything threatening, although she did send a porn clip of Miles to one player.

I'm in no place to judge what NFL players do on their own time. If they want to pursue certain available opportunities that may come easier due to their stature as pro athletes, that's their prerogative. But dudes. If her Twitter handle has an abundance of the letter x, z or is attached to a female descriptive (chick, girl, etc.) she's likely not real. If she has a scantily clad picture and no other identifiers (city, name, etc.), she's probably not real. If her name is Lennay Kekua ... well ... you know. It can't be that hard to figure out.

so looks like more Athletes are being Hoaxed than is reported

This is the voice that he fell in love with?!?

This whole thing is bizarre no matter how you look at it.

This is absolute crap. Manti couldn't tell if the person was a girl or a guy?

There is no way this guy (Manti) is telling the truth. He has know admitted to falsifying this story, albeit "briefly", but how are we really to know when his actual lies started? He admitted to lying, but now he expects us to believe him? Unreal. And who knows how long he was going to continue lying if the media didn't break this story?

http://www.cnn.com/2....html?hpt=hp_c3

There are many reasons why Ronaiah is not talking. Could be guilt. Could be because if he does, he will be forced to admit Manti's role. Or, he was actually having an affair with Manti in the first place. Maybe Manti and his lawyers have told him to keep his mouth shut.

But according to NY Daily News the disclosure about Ronaiah imitating a female voice comes straight from Ronaiah's attorney. He didn't fully clarify Ronaiah's motive other than to seek a relationship, describing him as "a person with a troubled existence trying to reach out and communicate and have a relationship."

Read more: http://www.nydailyne...0#ixzz2IwNKL74U. This does help resolve the question I had why would Ronaiah go to such great lengths to torture someone like this if it were only for kicks. Wanting a relationship (tbd) makes a lot more sense, to me at least. And makes the hoax easier to pull off since one less person was needed

Oh, like based on my original answer. Ok. Got it. The other posts simply reiterated my original point.

it is funny when someone knows the answer but has no idea how to get the answer.

........and even funnier when one constructs a 'riddle' based in flawed premises and logic and tries to make it something it is not; clever, challenging, and palatable, no?

Ronaiah Tuiasosopo took voice lesson, he is a singer in his church & to hit high notes he had raise his pitch, that's what his Lawyer says

Yes, and we all know that singing and hitting high notes is the same thing as having an 8 hour conversation. Maybe he sung all his conversations?

Lol, love it when people go out of their way to be a deuche. First, your answer is wrong. Second I didn't write the equation and you already know this because you googled searched your answer as its verbatim to other wrong answers in the top search findings. So I find it hilarious that you reference it as if I came up with it or something.

I simply presented an equation that has existed forever exactly how it's presented everywhere.

As a mathematical equation the correct answer is "no solution" and it's what known as a mathematical anomaly and there are others. In a literal world the dollar doesn't vanish into thin air like magic.

The original riddle was a fun response to someone making a fun response to this thread

Seriously? I have a ton of old voicemails that I should probably clear out and haven't. None from someone I cared about who died either. I'd imagine a lot of people save those to hear the persons voice.

And deadspins changed the frame from "friends say 80% sure teo was in on it" to "it happens to everyone"

Another player chimes in:

but the problem is that it isn't an equation. that is why there is no solution.

Technically it's not an equation, it's an attempt at a paradox. But as other's have stated, is easily solveable in the fact that the 3 guys only paid $25 for the room not $27. They were given back $3 each, making $28 and the bell boy kept the $2 tip. That accounts for all money. It's a trick in the wording.

A better paradox would be the one by Betrand Russell:

There is a town with just one barber, who is male. In this town every man keeps himself clean shaven. The barber is the man who shaves those in town and only those men in the town who do not shave themselves.

Who shaves the barber?

Russell, was brilliant, but absolutely mental at the same time.

You may be right ....

Hoax mastermind Ronaiah Tuiasosopo’s pretty young cousin played the part of “Lennay Kekua,” the fake girlfriend he created, The Post has learned.

“Tino is the girl that Manti has been talking to all these months,” said a Tuiasosopo cousin.

The revelation shoots down claims by Ronaiah Tuiasosopo’s attorney, Milton Grimes, that Ronaiah altered his masculine voice to play the part of the chirpy, flirty Kekua.

Grimes did not respond to calls or e-mails for comment.

One of Ronaiah’s relatives believes Grimes put out the story because the admitted hoaxer “is determined to take the rap.”
