Manning's arm motion was completed and he had gathered the ball into his body. Anytime you're siding with Dan Dierdorf, you really need to reconsider your position. When [an offensive] player is holding the ball to pass it forward, any intentional forward movement of his arm starts a forward pass, even if the player loses possession of the ball as he is attempting to tuck it back toward his body. Also, if the player has tucked the ball into his body and then loses possession, it is a fumble. YE OLE always says... when you get up under center and take that snap, always pump the ball one time for posterity sake... that way if things get dicey in the pocket, it can always be considered a tuck rule!
