Blaine "Vanilla Gorilla" Sumner would be a welcome addition to our Dline as a UDFA, Kid has insane power, surprising mobility and a very nasty attitude.

"Blaine played Full Back for the Colorado School of Mines in the short yardage/goal line situations. Blaine complied 4 touchdowns this season and was 2nd on his team for rushing touchdowns. On Defense he compiled 33 tackles (6TFL) 3 forced fumbled, and 3 blocked kicks and of course drawing his usual 20+ double teams a game. He has had interviews with over 50% of NFL team scouts and is just months away from instantly solidifying the Defensive Line to whichever team manages to secure the monster known as; the Vanilla Gorilla.

After talking with Blaine about his goals for the upcoming College pro-days and NFL combines; he has his sights set high. He is aiming to break the NFL combine 225Rep record (which stands at 45 reps.) Blaine told me that he has hit 225x50 in training back in November of 2010. His vertical jump is 33'' and has standing jumped onto a 50'' box! If that's not enough to get the scouts drooling at this monster of a interior lineman, he also is training every day to get his 40 yard dash at a blazing speed of 5.1 or better, at 335lbs!"

What is this, a test to see which posters like workout warriors?

I think we should look at trading up to get this kid. No one can overpower him, so he's obviously the rock we need to solidify the defense and make it impossile to run up the middle on us.

None of the game film that I saw in the clip was very impressive, the sack that they kept showing over and over again was made possible by the outside rush and the QB running forward. Sure he can lift a ton of weight, but let's see what he can do on the field. I was expecting to see him bull rush the center and snap the QB in half.

why is anytime someone shows surprising great physical qualities some pencil neck that likely would piss himself if he ever lifted anything heavier than pencil speaks up claiming roids. :wallbash:

Hey as a 7th round pick or an Un-Drafted free Agent I wouldn't mind taking a look at him.. Remember Kyle williams was a 5th round pick none even heard of, it was his high motor and work ethics that got him to where he is today, him and kyle would be pretty mean on the line..

he is obviously an OX but has the flexibility of wood. Enter in the fact that he has been pretty much playing the equivalent to high school talent in college this guy would get lapped in the league. He is almost too muscular if that makes sense. The right DL coach could mold him but probably a practice squad player at best.

Side note, I was working out when at UCF and they had a few of the walk ons lifting. I saw some Canadian kid with the same build repping 225, he was at 50 and the coaches told him to stop. He could have easily gotten 10 more, but to be honest the guy was so stiff he probably couldn't wipe his butt. Oh and he didn't make the team either.

Whatever you do don't google his name in hopes of finding a scouting report. Apparently there is a gay porn star with the same name and google instant search just pulled up some images I really didn't want to see......time to turn the safesearch feature back on.

Intriguing.

Does anyone deserve credit for the quotes you've posted above?

Cool post and everything, obviously this guy is really strong. Unfortunately it's proven every year that being a work out freak doesn't make you a good football player. In fact, from watching that video of him playing against what looked like junior high football teams, he looked mediocre at best, and seemed to be blocked with ease by puny walk-on O-linesman.

I'll say a big no thanks to this guy. Hey makes Leif Larson look like a pro bowler. Also, since when is a 5.2 40 time "blazing fast" !?!? That is probably about average for O and D linesmen.

Now if you are recruiting someone to pick up cars, or flip tractor tires...this is your guy...
