Free agent, big arm, wants another chance to start, is somewhat mobile, seems like a Chan Gailey kind of guy, allows us to focus on other needs in the draft this year. He may still have something in the tank, but would still draft a guy this year too. Keep Edwards, rook, and daunte. Wouldnt be ideal, but couldnt be worse than the last 10 years. CarolinaBill Posted February 19, 2010 Share Posted February 19, 2010 I'm on the culpepper war wagon, Honestly, If we can get 2-3 solid yrs out of him, it frees us up to actually develop a young QB behind a real Player (former MVP). And although Ive been a Lefevour guy this whole offseason, I think that if you bring in culpepper, you should looks seriously at jarrett brown from WVU big arm, quick release, 6-4 223, a great kid to line up behind Daunte and take the reigns when culpepper is done. This would free up alot of space to build the lines this year and next year. we would go into camp with 4 qbs daunte, fitz brown and ???with the backup battle b/t fitz and the winner of TE vs. BB. Â That being said, you honestly think this team is better with Trent, Fitz, or Brohm as the QB rather than Culpepper? He's the same age as Payton Manning. I was watching the Thanksgiving game with Detroit vs whoever. Stafford was hurt and they said Culpepper was going to start. Then at the last minute they pulled him for Stafford. They said Culpepper was livid. He wanted to play so bad and was psyched. He's got something to prove and he doesn't have too many autumns left. He's hungry and has had serious success in the past. I insert him in at #1 and open it up in training camp. I go into the season with Duante, Fitz, and rookie. Just because florio says something, it doesn't matter lol.   culpepper....seriously? well, if chan wants to bring in a vet, and thats a big if, who else is on the FA market, NOT TRADES, with all the holes we have nix isnt trading any picks so forget the eagles qb's. who else is out there. Its not many, and of those slim pickins, Culpepper is probably the best of the bunch, remember he sat out a yr, so if he can give us 1-3 yrs as a solid starter, while we groom a replacement (Lefevour, Brown, etc), we're in better shape than we are now. Â I cannot remember the last time that Culpepper had a good game, let alone looked anything like a starting NFL quarterback. The kind of move the Bills did in the mid 80s, pre-Polian. Playing outdoors in Buffalo won't be easy for Culpepper who has unusually small hands for a QB, he also is a deer in headlights when it comes to a pass rush. No thank you to Culpepper.
