Is Greg Roman the next Mike Pettine?
Jerry Jabber replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think those 49ers fans are morons as the last three years, the 49ers offense was in the Top 5. -
I was hoping they'd keep him around as a good 3rd down blocker, but the Bills have so many RB's and he became expendable, especially at his age. Thanks for all the memories FredEx!

Enough incoherence/whining from WGR re: EJ

Guys like Jeremy White, Mike Schopp and Joe Buscgalia are all a bunch of hacks that shouldn't be in the positions that they are. White has been crying ever since the Bills traded up to get Sammy Watkins and what a horrible move it's been. Both White and Joe B are constant Manuel bashers. Schopp is an annoying idiot. Ever since I heard he say "I wished the Bills would have gotten annihilated against the Patriots" in the post-game show last year when the Bills beat the Patriots, I just couldn't stand the guy. -

Both Deonte and Andre have been good so far. Hopefully the Bills can hang onto both. -
Last night's Pro's and Con's

Gruden was trying to talk up the Bills about how Preston came in and filled in nicely for Kiko, but Gruden failed miserably by botching his last name and by saying the entire starting O-line is the same as last year. -
Some positives from the game last night (in no order): Taylor had another good night, especially since he had none of the starting RB's and WR's. He was 4-4 on 3rd down, had some good passes and made plays with his feet again. Jerry Hughes looked good against the Browns probowl LT, Joe Thomas as he beat him for a sack and was regularly in the backfield. Dareus continued to wreak havoc against a very good Browns O-line. Goodwin made some nice plays, but I feel he is just like Roscoe Parrish, injury prone. Darby had a nice bounce back week as he had two INT's. As the game wore on, I thought Manuel started to look better. I don't know if that had anything to do with the Browns third stringers being put in? Manuel threw good passes on the TD and 2pt conversion. I thought Chris Gragg made some good plays for Manuel as well as Andre Davis. I like Greg Roman's imagination of having both Henderson and Kouandjio on the field at the same time. Roman had Kouandjio lined up as a TE for an extra blocker on a few occasions. Negatives: The backup O-line. The interior of the backups were horrific! I felt sorry for Manuel as he was constantly getting hammered. The backup RB's. I know the Bills are on their 6th, 7th and 8th string RB's (unfortunately, that's not an exaggeration), but they were constanly getting stuffed for no gain. Duke Williams had a rough night. He seemed to do a lot better under Schwartz, but seems lost under Ryan/Thurman. Jon Gruden's announcing! "There's a guy named Nickel, playing at the Nickel." "The Bills have all five starting O-linemen back." "Preston Smith off the field for Kiko Alonso."

It's just part of the negotiation process. One puts a bid in that below value, while the other puts in a bid that's above value and they keep exchanging bids until an agreement can be reached. This is not going to be settled quickly, as evident by contracts for Jerry Hughes, Dez Bryant and Russell Wilson. It's nothing to panic over either right now. The Bills can use the franchise tag on Dareus if a deal is not done in time. Players threaten to hold out all the time, but deals are usually done right at the deadlines.

Brady 4 game suspension upheld; Will go to court

I think the NFL wants Brady to do much more than that. -
Brady 4 game suspension upheld; Will go to court

Glad to see the NFL sticking to their guns on this. http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/report-brady-willing-to-accept-suspension-for-not-cooperating/ar-BBlSimw?ocid=iehp "ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Brady would be open to accepting a suspension only if the punishment is the result of failing to fully cooperate with the investigation. As you know, Brady refused to turn over his personal cell phone during the Ted Wells investigation. That is apparently not good enough for the NFL. The reason no progress is being made is that Brady refuses to admit he had any knowledge of alleged ball tampering. The NFL wants the 38-year-old to accept the findings of the Wells report if the two sides agree to settle." -

True class act! -
Since Manuel was named starter for the Blue and White scrimmage, and Cassel was named starter for the first preseason game vs the Panthers, now it’s Taylor’s turn to start vs the Browns. So, does that mean since each QB has been given starting reps with the one’s after this Thursday’s preseason game vs the Browns, the Bills will make their decision on who will be the Bills starting QB for the season? If so, will we see Cassel or Taylor as the Bills starting QB in the Bills third preseason game vs the Steelers? With Matt Cassel, the Bills have a QB that will play it safe with short to immediate passes or otherwise known as the "dink and dunk" game. With Tyrod Taylor, the Bills have a QB that is mobile, can scramble to avoid the sack, stretch plays with his feet and can quickly run for yards. If Taylor continues to perform as well as he has been, he could have the starting QB position locked up after this week’s preseason game.

If McKelvin is out, what is the next option?

http://www.wgr550.com/Rookie-Darby-vows-to-rebound/21863039 "But after the game, even Bills head coach Rex Ryan echoed Darby's own personal assessment by telling reporters his young corner "never played as well as I was hoping." Unofficially, Darby was targeted by Carolina Panthers quarterbacks six times in the team’s first preseason game. Of those, he gave up four completions, including two that went for 38 and 34 yards, as well as a touchdown." While some on here think my line of reasoning is "hitting the panic button," I'm just making a realistic observation. I think Darby has the possibility of being a good CB in the league, but after Friday's preseason game where he gave up big gains for 38 and 34 yards, plus a touchdown, there are legitimate concerns. Rookie CB's tend to struggle. Even Revis wasn't great his rookie year and got burnt in coverage, but he improved over time. I think Darby should be brought along slowly in the starting lineup until he can show he can handle the position, vice be opening day starter as that could be a recipe for disaster.
