edwards will be the next brady/roethlisberger
julian replied to robert's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
lol dude....your right, Bill Walsh had no idea what he was talking about(sarcasm), alot of people were wrong on those guys and will be wrong on alot more...whats your point, i think we both agreed your gonna miss more then hit with qb's. the entire league was wrong on Montana. am i really trying to convince someone on a message board that Bill Walsh was one of the greatest offensive minds in football...thats it for me,im not coming back to this thread, i wont be sucked in, i think your playing a joke on me or something...right? lol -

i wanted JP to be that guy soo bad, it was painful. I still think he could be, with the new system and better players that we have now. But that ship has sailed and i hope he goes to the NFC next year and has a great career, maybe even having a showdown with trent in the superbowl(that would be awsome). Just like i was behind JP, i'm now on the Trent bandwagon and i prey that he makes the leap from yr1 to yr2. Without a franchise QB, you cant win in this league. -

ok let me slow this down for ya...i take his opinion, not because hes an expert, but because he is a HOF coach who coached 2 HOF qb's, durrr.... like i said and i'll say again, he may be wrong, because hes no expert. If you think that being a QB, and having bill walsh talk highly of your skills is the same as having mel kiper toot your horn, then i dont know what to tell ya -
What is your reaction to this preseason?
julian replied to BLZFAN4LIFE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
oh com on now Russ....its just business -
ok i give up..."not any failure on the part of the defense" ...were they not on the field (with greggy calling the shots), on the final drive...and with your home field adv you cant stop a rookie qb and his 31st ranked offense...i respect you think he is a great def cord, i just see it differently...no biggie
-
did they NEED the drive starts? no one will ever know that...were you frightened of the washington def going into that game?....he could not stop a rookie qb and back up rb from beating him in his house!! if people think he is a great cord, then i guess you could come up with some really good stats to go along with that...but i think hes was over hyped and hes fast losing his lustre...i respect your view and that of all others not to be nit picky but we all know it was gregs famed defense he brought with him,he bragged it up at his opening press conf.

i dont get the point ....walsh coached 2 of the greatest qb's of all time, there is not a "expert" alive when it comes to evaluating a college qb, brady and montana woulda went 1st overall. Is walsh gonna be right in his assesment of edwards? i dont think he said he would be a HOFer. So if one of the greatest coaches of all time(who coached 2 HOF qb's) says edwards is a smart kid who gets it, im gonna take his word for it until proven wrong(which may happen) -
wow i never knew gregg was so beloved in these parts....never seen this type of support when he was here lol remind me to never overstate to get my point across...geezz is anybody really gonna argue that the washington redskins or the bills def instilled fear in anyone while gregg was the cords...i'll give him the titans def a couple of different years, they were a little scary when kearse was on fire , but in no way was i thinking "oh no, the redskins def" when we went in there last year. In fact we won that game in gregs house with a rookie qb and back up rb. all im saying is he is not a great def cord....hes had some statistical good fortune, but his defenses dont scare anybody.

excellent column, LAM-poster....go figure

Would Wild Card and First-Round Playoff Loss Be Acceptable?
julian replied to CJPearl2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
although the last memory i have of the playoffs is of myself lying face down on my living room floor....i want another shot soooo bad, just making the playoffs would be awsome. And when you consider doing it with a 2nd yr qb and rb, it would seem to set the tone for the next 6-10 yrs -
and the bull horn brings out the best in every player
-
do you have a hard time understanding that somebody may have a different perspective...geezzz let it go man lol
-
everybody grab your pitchforks, i think we have the majority on this one....lets goooooo!!!!!
-
so what your sayin is greg has decided to take his awsome defensive systems elsewhere even though ownership was begging him to stay with his top 5 defenses.. at best he is in the 2nd level of def cords in this league, and im not even sure about that...i for one am glad hes loooong gone
-
yeah thats right four!! he must be awsome
-
if hes sooo good, why is he always on the move from team to team? unlike def cords who actually are great (jim johnson, monti kiffin) teams tend to want to keep those guys
-
i cant believe williams still has a job in the nfl...the dude is brutal imo
-
yeah i was thinking the same thing...then i remembered the bills owner refuses to pay for a proven coach, so even though cowher may like our team, our owner like his $ more
-
watching nfl network last night and i caught adam shefter asking cowher which team would be the 2008 surprise....without hesitation, he said the bills. he then went on to say edwards has established himself and that marhawn is a special back, then added that the defense will be tough. i know weve heard these things before from other talking heads, but coming from cowher it really made me jump to edge of my seat, i loved it. bring on the chithawks!!
-
if what we have seen in the preseason is any indication.....90-100 catches 1200-1400 yrds 9-12 tds now if the L.Walker experiment at tackle is a mess...then those numbers will be dramatically lower
-
a roster full of yes men...thats all you need as a bills fan? you got to be shittin me

I am starting to believe we need to trade Peters

umm...no the bills are a team in the nfl...they need to pay top dollar for top players like every other team. they can choose not to pay top dollar and the bills can continue to watch the post season on television with all thier fans. -
my sister coulda ran all over 2007 bills rush defense...are you kiddin me the dude is a donkey and never lived up to the hype

Peters holdout lacks a cheering section

he has the talent to not only be a pro bowl player, but someday down the line be one of the greatest of all time. When you hear McNally comparing his skill set to that of anthony Munoz, you gotta be down right giddy!! i dont care who's right or wrong, just get it done already !!
