Dolphins & Jalen Ramsey exploring trade options
Big Turk replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall
With Tua you are getting a guy who just isn't good enough unless he has elite talent all over the offense to prop him up. He will never raise anyone else's game he requires them to raise his. How this is even debatable at this point is beyond me based on his performances in games that actually matter against good teams. Tua's ceiling at this point is wildcard losing QB. I will take Maye all day over Tua because with Tua you are NEVER winning the division while Allen is in it. Maye might have a chance one day. I would rather take a gamble on his potential than to already know I have a guy that isn't good enough other than to keep me in mediocrity over the next decade. -
The literal definition of a landslide from the Oxford Dictionary: an overwhelming majority of votes for one party in an election. "winning the election by a landslide" Claiming something is true when it clearly isn't at best is disingenuous, at worst is delusional. Change your name to Alice and move to Wonderland. Oh, I understand it perfectly fine. It's the same understanding of it that any dictionary provides, which is: an overwhelming majority of votes for one party in an election. "winning the election by a landslide" What would you call someone who was told by their leader to try and tell you it's bright and sunny outside when it's pouring rain? Probably a cult because clearly it's apparent to anyone paying attention to reality what the truth is/was. So to be in denial of reality while supporting someone else's "alternative facts" clearly screams cult.

Actually I could just go back to 2020 when Joe Biden won by a "Triple landslide" based on your logic since it was 4.5% of the popular vote. Or to 2012 when Obama won by 3.9% or to 2008 when he won by 7.5%. Any of them are far more of a "landslide" than this was and all of them happening within the last 17 years. Go re-learn history. And no, I am not claiming that any of those were landslides...just by your definition, which is baseless and is not supported by any definition of the word, they were much more of one than this was.

100%. Maye is far more talented than Tua. Tua needs to be propped up by everyone else and at the end of the day doesn't perform well against good teams due to his limitations in physical attributes. Essentially when teams tell Tua "Ok, we are going to take everything else away, you beat us." he can't. Maye has no such limitations and he will easily be better than Tua within the next 2 years. -
Don't quite understand the nonsense about this being a "landslide" when in fact, it was one of the closer races in the last 30 years. Trying to convince yourself of something even tho facts don't support it makes it seem more like a cult than anything else where anyone who doesn't show overwhelming support is some "insert random idiotic name du jour". A landslide is what happened when Reagan defeated Mondale where he won the popular vote by over 18% and the Electoral Collage by over 500 votes. Winning by 1.5% of the popular vote - note even a majority mind you, and 86 electoral votes is hardly anything "landslide" worthy except in delusional people's heads that refuse to live in reality.

What is your favorite serendipitous draft story?

But we drafted him for his rapping and painting skills! -
Different Era. Trying to compare stats from the current era to that era is nonsensical. Aikman and Young are in the HOF as well with fewer yards than Kelly

Probably so, they have the best QB out of the other teams and Vrabel is a good coach, but their ceiling is 8 wins this year. -

I'm still out...as Vontae Davis(RIP) once told Tre and Shady "It's a young man's game boo...I just ain't got it no more...you'll see one day". Ramsey's day is coming real soon. -

I'm not paying for past performance. Ramsey is not even close to be worth $25 million at this point in his career. -
He sucks anyway what's the difference

C'mon man...what are you trading to go from where we are to top 5? This isn't Madden, this is real life.

Another absurd thing? Gretzky AVERAGED 143 points per season over his career. Only 9 other players in the history of the NHL have even had a 143 point season, and only Lemieux with 4 and Esposito with 2 have more than 1 of them outside of Gretzky who had 10. So essentially only 9 other players could even accomplish a single time what Gretzky averaged over 20 years. Mind blowing.
-
Gretzky was so good that it was like he was playing with 12 year old kids on the ice. If he wanted to score 1200-1300 goals, he easily could have. He was more of a setup man, going thru 2 or 3 players and then dishing it off to teammates to set them up for goals. He is almost 1000 points clear of the next closest player for his career. That's absurd. What's even MORE absurd is that Gretzky's 1963 assists are more than any other player has points (goals + assists). Jagr is in 2nd place with 1921 points. Then add on 894 goals for Gretzky as well. His assists and points record are so far and above the next closest player, those will never be even approached. Still the only player to ever have more than 200 points in a season, which he did 4 times, and had 150+ points 9 times. The only other player to do it more than once was Mario Lemiuex who did it 4 times.

I want David Goddamn Putney just because I feel like it.
-
The man has scored 40+ goals 14 times which is the most in NHL history, Gretzky is in 2nd place with 12 seasons. He also is tied for the NHL lead with 9 50+ goal seasons with Gretzky and Mike Bossy. He has also led the NHL in Goals 9 separate seasons. I'm not sure if you are trying to split hairs, but that level of production is very rare. Let's not act like he did this by scoring 25 goals for his whole career. He has had elite production for the majority of his career.
-
The most impressive record is Gretzky's point and assist record. In terms of career points, Gretzky has more assists, 1963, than the 2nd place player on the list has points(goals + assists) which is Jaromir Jagr at 1921. That record is absurd and will likely never be broken. That's on top of his 894 goals. Essentially, if Gretzky wanted to score another 300-400 goals, he easily could have. His best talent was not scoring goals, as good as it as he was, it was setting up teammates. Gretzky is almost 1000 points ahead of the 2nd place Jagr in total points.

No thanks...if you are going to be a headache you better at least be worth it. He isn't.
