What rules are we playing by? Today's or 20 years ago?

DaQuan was our best DL last year. By a wide margin. Had great pass rush win rate and wreaked havoc that others cleaned up on passing downs many times.

Pretty much every team over the past 2 decades could say the same thing...unlike popular belief, teams don't consistently draft great over long periods of time. Sometimes it goes in spurts where you might have 2 or 3 really good drafts, but often times those are followed by 2 or 3 meh ones. Over 20 years(decades as you say), it mostly balances out. Sorry to blow your premise up, but that pretty much applies unilaterally.

Yes, because having an average QB is better than having no QB. Both for your record and your job security. But let's be real. There are at least 12-13 QBs in the NFL Daboll would rather have. Once Jones is asked to do more you'll see why.

He's a mid-tier QB. You can play with numbers any way you want....if that's the case, guess you should get used to a lot of early playoff exits.

You are working OT to try and hope Jones into a franchise QB. Daboll probably views him as the safest choice to keep his job a few years into the future, as does the GM. Jones is a mid-tier at best QB in the NFL and no amount of hopium you try and add to him will change that. They just paid him more than Josh Allen with the bonuses. He is a long long long way from Allen.
