  1. Safety is the RB of the defense. You can plug almost anyone into this scheme and they will be OK. People need to stop worrying about Defense. McD can scheme up enough answers during the regular season. During the playoffs it doesn't matter anyway no matter how good they are, the offense is going to need to carry them because they can't stop anyone when it counts. Load up on offense and do enough on D to get by. The definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over again that haven't worked and expecting different results. The focus needs to be on offense, forget the defense. Fill it in like they did with the offense last year. Also, plenty of viable safeties will be around in the 5th and 6th rounds. You don't waste high picks on non difference making positions.
  2. So they basically flipped Pickett for Fields? That's a win for them.
  3. A team with a #1 WR that is 31, a #2 WR that is 29 and a #3 WR who is on the final year of his contract should NEVER pass up a WR in the first round because "they are good enough" now. That's how you become very bad, very quick, because you have the cupboards bare in the upcoming talent pipeline. Taking a WR at #1 gives them a year before they are expected to step in and play a huge role and to get acclimated to things.
  4. They can easily take a late round back who can fill that role, or a late FA acquisition on a 1 year deal. Zero worries about that.
  5. Chark has a career catch rate similar to if not worse than Gabe Davis.
  6. McGovern moves to center, Edwards takes his spot at guard, they draft a guard or center in the later rounds to bring in.
  7. Just because a player was used a certain way prior doesn't mean that's all he can do.
  8. Think the narrative would have changed quite a bit if Allen didn't constantly overthrow him while he was wide open just about every game.
  9. How is this dude still on an NFL roster?
  10. No we don't. McD routinely turns 5th and 6th round DB's into good players, especially at safety which is the RB of defense. We draft a young stud at WR in round 1 to take over for an aging Diggs when he starts declining. That's how you build a team that always stays good...you have deep pipelines at key positions. Defense DOESN'T MATTER on this team. McD is going to get players schemed up to be a top 10 D regardless. They need to get to a place where they can bring firepower to destroy teams and not have to worry about the D saving them in the playoffs. We have tried that for 5 years now, it hasn't worked. The definition is insanity is doing the same thing over and over again even tho it doesn't work and expecting different results. The offense needs to be the focal point, the D can be top 10 and they'll be fine. Do not allocate key resources to defense.
  11. Except much better?
  12. Diggs is a #2? Hahahahahaha
  13. He never played with anyone like Allen before.
  14. And open up space for Kincaid
  15. Different but he can get down field quickly too
  16. Dude is a speed demon...4.31 40 time...fills the John Brown role for us we have sorely missed
  17. Wow...big upgrade from Davis...Bills going to be dangerous as hell next year offensively...add a WR in round 1 now... It's a 3 year $24 million deal that could go up to $30 million with incentives...$15 million guaranteed... Samuel is the definition of burner...he runs a 4.31 40, likely filling the John Brown role for the Bills that they have been missing.
  18. So Harbaugh's first order of business is getting rid of all their good players not naked Justin Herbert? Guess he is trying to buy himself max time by starting a rebuild.
  19. But not the same QB as he was before. He was also 4 years younger than Cousins when it happened... Stats took a nosedive after his first year back. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MariDa00.htm
  20. They still have Kirk Cousins, a 36 year old QB coming off an Achilles tear, so that doesn't make a big difference. Ask Dan Marino how QB's typically look after one of those...and he was a better QB than Cousins ever dreamt about being as a kid.
  21. $3 mil or so when you factor the difference between their picks versus who they are displacing on the 51 man roster. it's only $3 mil for picks when you factor in the difference between who they displace on the active 51 and their contracts.
  22. The Bills CANNOT be over the cap by league rules, so these numbers are simply not correct.
  23. Or they meant what they said. The simplest answer is usually the right one.
  24. Yes he is, they are moving McGovern to center and having Edwards start at his guard position.
