Honestly think the Bills struggle to use players in creative ways that play to their strengths. Doesn't look good that outside of Diggs receivers typically do better in other places and do worse here. They struggle to scheme players open consistently relying on players "winning" their routes far more often than others teams force players to do this. We can keep blaming the receivers that come in but at some point we have to look at how they are being used and if they are being put in the best positions to succeed on the field. Sadly, many times the answer here is they don't.

Kickers are 26/27 in FGs against us this year

Normalize kickers for the weather and lengths of FG and then let's talk. The current way of viewing them doesn't tell us much. When one kicker has 8 home games in a dome, another 3 road games in a dome and only 2 games where they deal with any sort of weather and others, especially Bass, who deal with crazy swirling winds even on "good days" at home it creates a pretty uneven playing field. -

The weather channel created a "worst weather" city index for NFL teams and the Bills won by a very wide margin over 2nd place Green Bay. -
I'll buy the $27 ones from DH Gate...great quality, same heavy jersey material, cannot tell the difference between them.

In a game with small margins with closely matched teams it is absurd to think a play here or there that goes you way one week but against you the next week couldn't tilt the outcome one way or the other. Or a refs call/non-calls in a crucial situation sometimes due to interpretation differences between crews.

Doug Williams was garbage. The man had a career completion percentage of 49%. Give me a break. He had the game of his life in the SB. Congrats. One good game doesn't make you great. So did Mark Rypien, anyone talk about him like that?

Chance of Playoffs now, according to NYT simulator

Their D could cause issues if the Bills don't come out ready to play. -
That means they would beat the Bills and cause us to likely miss the playoffs. Garbage take.

Poona did get it but it was due to Oliver forcing Stick to get away from him and basically walk right into Ford.

Also does this "projection" factor in the huge cap increase coming this off season? The NFL hasn't given them a number yet so they may not have anything other than the current cap which will be a lot lower...expecting a 20-30 million jump in the cap next year

Buffalo does it in the regular season too...they actually wrote the book on how to defend him when he played in Buffalo his MVP year and they were housing teams like 45-10 for weeks leading up to our game and then the Bills held them to 257 yards of offense and 24 points and made Lamar look pretty ordinary. Titans widely credited the Bills game plan as their basis for the one they used in the playoffs to beat the Ravens that year.

Turnovers - The Bills Achilles Heel (Statistical Overview)

You mean other than not being able to execute a simple handoff on the goalline when they are about to score on the first possession of the game? -
Bills clinch with a win and any combo of 2 losses in 5 games next week consisting of teams in the mix behind them. Believe it's the Steelers, Colts, Jags, Texans and Bengals. Really might only need 1 loss since Colts-Texans play each other the following week and one of those teams will lose in Week 18. Basically looks like the only thing in that scenario that keeps them out is both Pittsburgh and Cincy winning both of their games. Bills are out in that scenario.
-
Maybe the one we wanted to the most but it was also likely the least important in the grand scheme of things
-
98%...well depending on how other games go that week. Bills could clinch a playoff birth next week with a win and a Pittsburgh loss in Seattle and a Cincy loss in KC. Basically there are 5 games that matter next week and any combination of 2 teams losing and a Bills win clinches a playoff spot.

That's an absurd FG percentage. Over 96%?? Most kickers don't even have XP percentages that high! Yeah it's really maddening when Allen has one of the lowest turnover worthy play percentage in the NFL but has so many INTs...defenders are catching everything, then you watch other games and the same dude that made an amazing over the shoulder INT against Allen last week drops an easy one that looks like a punt. Yeah considering one miss can drop a kicker like 4% since they only have a finite number of kicks during a year and there is no difficulty rating involved it's not really meaningful overall... A missed 60 yard FG is not the same as a missed 35 yard FG but for all intents and purposes they are treated the same. -
I just don't think Trevor Lawrence is as good as everyone wants to make him out to be and that's where the disconnect is. People credit Lawrence for being an elite QB when he is simply a good one. Also...it's better to fight the Jags love than the law...I tried to fight the law once, and the law won. 🤣

Eh, they have 5 wins by 20+ points, I wouldn't go that far and say "nothing" looks easy. The Fins, Jets and Cowboys games looked pretty easy. Not no more Billy.
