  1. I'm watching on TV... Its still not on in the 3rd quarter... I've already emailed them and may give them a call later. Not gonna see any of that game at this point.
  2. Anyone else out there with this game blacked out on NFL Sunday Ticket? I'm in Los Angeles, so I'm out of area and its not on the local CBS affiliate (that's Raiders @ Chargers here). I'm not sure why its unavailable... unless this was originally a contracted Thurs, Sun, or Mon night game maybe?
  3. Carrington is a hell of an athlete... He's starting to look like a bargain of a 3rd rounder.
  4. Hey, listen chief... I'm always happy to see this team win. I'm glad to see it today. But again, they have a lot more fight now that the playoff chase is lost. Where was the fire when they were still in it?
  5. This team plays their heart out when there's nothing left to fight for...
  6. Here's my point: The proven coaches (Shanahan, Cowher, Gruden, etc.) don't want to come here. We all know why... A handful of the hottest college coaches and top assistants don't either. But there are a few up and coming assistants, college coaches (possibly) who would take the chance. This is the best way for a small market team like Buffalo with some obvious issues to catch lightning in a bottle. Just because it didn't work for Donahoe doesn't mean it shouldn't be tried again. Donahoe also interviewed top assistants like John Fox and Marvin Lewis and passed them over. Many former assistants have gone on to win Super Bowls as HCs. Former assistants like Mike Smith and Jason Garrett among others are doing just fine as HCs... To me, its the most realistic way for a franchise like this to find the right guy. If a top option, like a Bill Cowher or whoever had a change of heart and wanted to come here, great! But that's not being realistic now is it? It doesn't matter anyway right now. Because I believe Gailey gets at least one more year.
  7. So long suckers!!!! I took all your Christmas gifts too!!! HA HA HA HA HA!!!!
  8. INCONCEIVABLE!!!
  9. He never was the man for the job. He's what the Bills franchise settled for, as they always do. Shanahan and Cowher did not want to come here, even after weeks of courting. Gruden wouldn't even consider a meeting. Jim Harbaugh turned down an offer. I got the same sick feeling in my stomach when they hired Gailey that I got when they hired Jauron. Why this team won't hire a young, innovative assistant is beyond me. It looked like Leslie Frazier was the front-runner in 2010. I'm not saying he'd have been the right choice. Who really knows? But hiring a younger assistant instead of these recycled, old codgers who are not NFL HC material is an easy decision for a small market team... unless you're the Buffalo Bills. And while we're at it, what is the problem with actually drafting a QB of the future? When did that become such a taboo? Nix has shown himself to be a better than average talent evaluator, at least when it comes to the NFL Draft. Why the hell can't they take a shot on a QB, even in the 2nd or 3rd round? Seems to work for many other teams who have won SBs or gone deep into the playoffs. Ultimately, I agree with many posters here. It starts at the top with ownership. When that changes, perhaps you'll see some improvement in front-office, coaching and talent decisions. That's assuming the new owner doesn't uproot the Bills altogether.
  10. I agree with this... Buffalo courted Cowher for weeks and he had no interest, but recommended Gailey. Shanahan had what..? An 8-10 hour interview with the Bills and said no thanks. Gruden would stay in the booth before he takes on a massive challenge like Buffalo. The only real shot the Bills organization has at hitting a home run with a head coach is going after a top NFL assistant or coordinator or possibly a good college HC. Though, as /dev/null says, they'd have to actually accept the job which is no guarantee. In my opinion, the best way is to take a chance on an NFL assistant... and hope they accept the offer. Buffalo had this chance in the past with guys like John Fox, Marvin Lewis, Leslie Frazier, etc. But of course, they didn't end up here... What a surprise.
  11. Nope... Trick play... successful....
  12. Hard to do that when the refs don't give you the correct calls.... Just ask Green Bay...
  13. This team can't catch a damn break.... Even the refs are screwing them....
  14. That was not a 1st down.... I agree... Total BS!
  15. The best option for this regime is to draft one if not two QBs... Perhaps they could bring in a veteran to compete in training camp and be a viable backup, but this franchise desperately needs to draft and develop a QB. A large majority of Super Bowl winners during the free agency era have used this philosophy.
  16. I'm on the campaign trail!!! All hail Dictator Webster Guy!!!
  17. Though I should be crying, cause this could be closer to the truth than any other speculation... I agree with you, SJBF... I like a majority of the draft/FA personnel Nix has brought in... I was never sold on Gailey, though I like his offensive schemes... If he'd just run the damn ball when he needs to, which he tends to do at times and other times when its obvious, he doesn't. Probably should've been our OC... Why this team will not hire a young up and coming assistant or coordinator is beyond me... I know that didn't seem to work for Donahoe, but to me that's the best shot Buffalo has at getting a great coach. Guys like Cowher and Shanahan refused to come in, even after weeks of courting them. I agree with several others that Gailey likely gets one more year. What's more puzzling to me is why Nix has not drafted or signed a legitimate contender for QB... That could save everyone's job. Doesn't have to be a 1st round top 10 guy (though that would be nice), but they won't even draft a kid in the 3rd or 4th that could compete or at least turn into a solid backup... Amazing...
  18. Easy.... Mr. Invisible got paid $100 million and disappeared...
  19. When we sweep the Pats and Dolphins and get a home win against the Jets Week 17.
  20. The Bills need to respond here.. and I believe they'll be motivated after getting hammered all week by fans and the press. They need this one and they know it. Next week is in Cleveland... Granted they won't have Haden which helps, but that defense looks like it will cause some havoc. Cleveland will not be a gimme. Either way, the KC and Cleveland games are pivotal, because then the Bills get New England... And if that's not enough, two straight road games on the west coast, the 49ers and Cardinals. These next two games have to be wins or else...
  21. Peyton had his choice of playoff-calibur teams to go to along with several other teams falling all over themselves to just get him to visit.... Why would he choose Buffalo when Denver and the 49ers came calling?
  22. I enjoy reading your thoughts on the game each week, Bill. However, like many others, I disagree with you on Spiller. That kid is a game changer if given enough opportunities. Looks like he'll get them for the time being. I agree with you on all other points... Obviously, Fitz will continue to start for now as there aren't many other options... Though T. Jackson is looking more and more tempting IMO, depending on his learning curve with the scheme. This team desperately needs a franchise QB.
