Re-thinking the hiring of color commentators
fasteddie replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in The Stadium Wall
Driving home from the game, I often listen to Sirius radio broadcasts of NFL games. And I agree, many are terrible at best, and homers all the time. (We gotta do this, that, other things). About the best of the bunch was the Raiders crew. -

Yes, and I agree. -
Re-thinking the hiring of color commentators

I think the most important aspect of the game is the director. TV has the incessant tv show promos mid-play that makes any color persons' job difficult. A play occurs which has you scratching your head, and often a replay is shown on the next series, instead of immediately following the play. It could be worse. I was watching a Syracuse basketball game and there were 2 color commentators without a play by play man. What a cluster! -
Since they changed the starting time, I'm going to stay home. Cold rain is a bit too much for these 66 year old bones. The 3 hr drive home doesn't help either. It sucks because I can't even give the tickets away.

Use the left one.🤭

Imagine what McKenzie's average would be if Andre Smith didn't get a penalty on almost every return in the first 2/3 of the season. It would have been comical if it were for any other team.

Harrison Philips: how important is it for the Bills to re-sign him?

Do you stutter all the time? -
This sucks! Another $200 down the drain for unused tickets. At least I'll save $50 on gasoline.

Correct. If you go to the account manager on the website, it will show that your payment will occur on Jan. 15th. If it doesn't, call your rep.

Allen's mid season swoon has not helped him. -
Dion Dawkins, Stefon Diggs named to Pro Bowl

I was watching a sports discussion show (I can't remember which one), and one of the panelists explained that the pro bowl ballot is in alphabetical order. Voters will see the first name they recognize and vote accordingly. It sucks if your last name is Zippadeedoodah. -

I take seat cushions in for every game. The only ones that are banned are ones with zippers. No contraband allowed!🤮 -

Week 14 Gameday Bills at Buccaneers Postgame thread

He was the same blind bat who missed the shirt pull on Diggs in the first half. But in his next game, he will throw a flag on a play 50 yards away. Too darn inconsistent. You have refs who work at their jobs all week long, then travel to a distant city, and the are expected to stay awake for 3 hours on Sunday. Either get full time refs or have another ref in the defensive backfield. On passes downfield, there are only 3 refs looking at all those players. They miss way too much. -

The back judge must need a seeing eye dog to leave the field. -

They will do it next week. Just like the qb run. Week late, dollar short. -
Clock error cost the Bills 27 seconds at the end of the game

OMG! On two different posts, you state that Beasley was not open. Now you state that the pass was perfect. Davis was running a post, which takes his route diagonally through the endzone. When the ball was thrown, he was at the goal line. If it was a perfect pass, the ball would have been about 5 yds deep in the endzone. The ball was tipped well short of the goal line. Not only that, if you look at the replay, Davis had to stop his route because it was thrown well behind him. I think you watch too much Madden, and not enough live football. -
What! Only 5 pages of complaints? This board must be slipping.
-
Correct. Spencer Brown was 5 yards downfield blocking when the handoff was made. It was just another messed up play.
-
If you don't see anyone in front of you, run that way. Don't try and do a spin-o-Rama, a la Mahomes.
-
If I recall, when Josh got knocked down, he tried to spin around but in doing so, he ran right into the defenders. If he would have just started running to the left, he had lots of room. His pocket (when there has been one) awareness has been lacking this year.
-
My only complaint is that on the 4th down pass, he just lofted the throw instead of putting some zip on the ball. The pass fluttered in the wind, which allowed the DB to come back for the ball. Davis would have been about 5 yards deep in the end zone where the off defender could not have reached it. Not only that, the pass was poorly underthrown. Oh well. On to Tampa.

When they do open holes, the rb's run into the back of a blocker, or run away from the hole. None of our rb's have good vision at the point of attack.
