  1. You're right, he's more of an ed mccaffery, Mike ditka, Jason Sehorn, Tim Anderson hybrid
  2. Kyle is definitely a blue collar kinda player. He's a high motor guy who brings his lunch pail to work every day. He's very smart and savvy, almost like a coach on the field. He makes up for his limited athletic skills with his unmatched work ethic and heart. He's kind of like a cross between Brandon Stokely, John Lynch, Brian Urlacher, and Brian Leonard. I could only imagine what kind of player he'd be if he had the pure athleticism of Marcus Stroud, Spencer Johnson, or John McCargo.
  3. It's funny how we have the smallest O-line we've had in years, yet we're finally getting a push on running plays. Watching it live, you could really see wood and hangartner in particular pushing their guys around, especially in the second half. I think it goes to show that explosiveness and leverage are more important than brute size and strength when it comes to run blocking. I'm really excited about what these guys can do as they mature and gel with each other and I'm even more excited to see what Marshawn's gonna be able to do when he gets back.
  4. Michael Tunison isn't a journalist, he's a comedy writer and co founder of kissingsuzykolber.uproxx.com. He writes satirical articles for TSN. That whole thing is meant as a joke. You guys are basically bashing a crayonz post.
  5. Wow, when the blind cheerleaders are describing the team as "mediocre or slightly better than mediocre" we've definitely hit a low point.
  6. I was at McFaddens (the bills backers bar in NYC) with about 200 or so other bills fans. My friend who was there that's a giants fan said that the celebration reminded him of the giants bars after they beat the pats in the super bowl. After freddy scored that TD people were dancing, jumping on each other, strangers embracing for uncomfortable periods of time, confetti, beer in the air, shout song on repeat for the entire commercial break. It was awesome, complete pandemonium. Then when mckelvin fumbled you could hear a pin drop. Lot's of emotional swings in there.
  7. I said week 1 losses. I mean we could go on all day with awful losses in general, I think someone did in another thread. I just think it's crazy that we've lost 3 of our last 6 WEEK ONE games in such epic fashion. That's gotta be some kind of record.
  8. I'd say third behind jacksonville in '04 and denver '07 . In both those games there was a 4th down play where if we stop them it's over and we couldn't do it. Jax is slightly worse (just talking about the game, obviously not taking everett into consideration) because it was a 4th and 26. But denver was almost as bad and that running field goal was brutal. Last night really didn't come down to a single play. Even if McKelvin doesn't fumble, NE still might've had a chance for a last drive. Honorable mention go to 2003 overtime vs. the jets and 06 at New England blowing the double digit lead. What do you guys think?
  9. Exactly, the people with the most money at stake for predicting the outcome correctly (sportsbooks, professional gamblers) didn't seem to think that the Schonert/Walker incidents, or even the dismal preseason (the spread came out before the preseason) would have a big an effect on the result of this game. If they did, the line would've moved after these events. However, the people who get paid for telling a story that will grab peoples' attention, whose predictions hold no consequences, seem to think those incidents were catastrophic.
  10. The spread has stayed close to 10.5-11 all week despite the wagerline consensus, the sportsbook.com betting trends, and the logans.com betting trends all showing bettors taking NE -10.5 at a rate of 80+%. These numbers show what the average small time public bettor is betting on. My point is, the books don't just leave themselves open to get destroyed if there is a very lopsided amount of action on one team. If there weren't professional gamblers betting large amounts on buffalo, the spread would be at at lest 13 by now. So why do the "sharps" like the bills tonight? I think that joe public just sees "brady and moss are back, 17-0", and "Bills fired their o-coordinator, they're a mess" while the pros really analyze the match up. The analysis probably points to things such as the NE secondary and D-Line being big question marks against a buffalo offense, that with T.O. in there will have a lot of weapons. They see the bills improved in all 3 levels of their defense and the possibility of having a formidable pass rush. They see a qb one year off of acl surgery and some aging players all over the rest of the offense. Now look, the sharps don't always win, that's why its called gambling, there is still every chance that the Bills get blown out. But it's somewhat comforting to me that while the "analysts" you see on TV, who have nothing at stake with their predictions, all love a pats blow out, the people who are making their picks with real big money on the line like the bills to cover.
  11. Cle/Min under 40. No way favre is airing it out day one, they will keep it on the ground with AP and pound the ball. Mangini is a terrible game manager, but his teams are always sound on defense, and Min's D should be in quinn's face all day. I'd be surprised if that game gets to 30.
  12. Wow, looks like randy moss's stats per game against us, except Moss has way more TDs
  13. Exactly, I mean if the Bills were a normal team who had been to the playoffs recently, no matter how bad the first couple of games went it wouldn't matter. In '07 the giants looked like the worst team in the league after their first 2 games. In '05, midway through the season the steelers were toast. The cardinals looked like a joke in week 15. And there's countless other examples. But when your team hasn't made the playoffs in a decade, even with a 4-0 start, it's hard to keep hope alive... I'll still try tho! GO BILLS!
  14. That is hilarious. The only thing I can think of is that Herm picks his all division teams based on 2008 fantasy stats. Denney actually had unusually high fantasy stats last year for a d-end because of his TD reception. Must be nice to get paid to give your thoughts about teams and not even know who their starters are or take the time to look at their depth chart.
  15. T.O. was trash talking N.E. the week before the game a couple years ago with the cowboys and people said that that was part of the explanation for bellicheck running up the score. Personally, I think a loss is a loss, so I could care less about that. I like the fact that he's not scared and genuinely doesn't like New England for whatever reason and I hope it rubs off a little on the rest of the team.
  16. I'm really at a loss on this one, how is drinking alcohol in any way related to dog fighting?
  17. The Bills starters destroyed the steelers starters in the preseason last year, meant nothing towards regular season success, preseason is stupid
  18. If the Bills have another sub .500 year I'm predicting at least 10 blackouts for myself. Only way I can deal with the pain these days.
  19. That's absolutlely hillarious. My madden 09 team in franchise mode is the exact current bills team, but with jason witten at TE and shawn merriman at OLB. I just won the superbowl on all madden.
  20. Fitzpatrick is terrible, I ended up watching several bengals games last year because they were important for gambling/fantasy purposes and the guy is a joke. You can show me every stat in the world and it won't change what my eyes saw, I'd rather have J.P. or Grossman. I'm not a pessimist as a bills fan, but honestly, if you asked me last year at the end of the season who the worst qb I saw play was it would have been orlovsky with fitzpatrick as a close second, those are the two guys that really stood out as not belonging in an NFL game. I'm petrified of Edwards getting injured this year. In football way more-so than any other sport stats can be manipulated in 1000 different ways, Palmer is good, fitzpatrick is not.
  21. You really like that favre slurping douche bag??? That's horrendous, I'd expect more from a 6 time Vijay Singh award winner
  22. I think the system is screwed up, but I don't blame the individual players. I mean, if you could make hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars by not showing up to work, wouldn't you do it? Especially in a league where there's no guaranteed contracts and every play could be your last, you've gotta get every dollar while you can.
  23. I just saw it on sunday, pretty entertaining, but not great. The best part of the experience was watching people walk out of the theatre halfway through the movie because they were disgusted. I mean, what were they possibly expecting?
  24. Coming from the person who was more dedicated to offseason conditioning than anyone, that means a lot.
