  1. What are the signs of a poorly coached team? Coming out looking flat and unprepared- check Abysmal (and thats being kind) red zone offense- check Awful clock management and use of timeouts- check Playing down to the level of the competition- check Predictable gameplan/playcalling on both sides of the ball- check I'm not saying the bills players are blame-free or that they have the most talent in the league, but Jauron really is the worst coach in the NFL. If the fans weren't being held hostage they could sign a petition saying they wont renew their season tickets until Jauron goes. But of course then ralph could just threaten to move the team, what an awful situation.
  2. I've got 250 on Florida. I understand what you're saying with an undefeated team getting 10 being a fishy line, but I think FLA wins this one by 20+ even without Harvin. Alabama plays more of a big 10 style, ball control offense, and has a solid run d, and we see how the big 10's finest have fared against the better SEC/Pac 10 teams in recent years. In the NFL defense wins championships, but in college a big play offense will win out every time. Fla's d is extremely aggresive too, if Alabama has to play from behind JPW will have people in his face all day. Too many playmakers on both sides of the ball for the gators.
  3. I feel for you, my company where i had been for 3.5 years went under a couple months ago, I was very fortunate to find a new job after only being unemployed for a month, but being laid off in this economy is definitely a scary thing. Just keep your head up, put your resume out there, and dont turn down any interviews no matter what the job. Even if the role isn't something your in love with its good to make connections and stay sharp by going on as many interviews as possible.
  4. During the game today I said something that I never thought I'd say. I actually liked mularkey more than I like Jauron...And i HATED mularkey. Mularkey was a complete bonehead, but at least he would dial up some unpredicatble plays, sure it burned us a lot, but I'd rather have that than being the most predictable team in league history. In a perfect world I'd rather have neither, but Jauron is the worst. Last year and the year before I could defend jauron's approach to an extent because he was trying to keep us in games against teams where we were totally overmatched. This year he has gotten beat by Romeo Crennel and Mike Singletary, at home, by teams that are inferior talentwise. Pathetic, I'm done with Jauron, forever, get rid of this guy right now, he's making my team painful to watch
  5. Why do you think that? As Dean alluded to, most psychologists, sociologists, and even former CIA agents agree that torture is not an effective way to get truthful information, its just an effective way to get people to tell you what you want to hear. For example, if you torture a guy until he says that sadaam was training al queda, he will tell you that sadaam was training al queda even if its not true. Even if you dont care about the human rights of POWs because you assume that they're all terrorists who would kill us anyway, you should still be against torture because it has been scientifically proven to be an ineffective way of getting information.
  6. Its impossible to say for sure what would've happened, so this argument is kind of pointless. But all I'm saying is that if we couldn't stop indy from driving to our 5 when we knew they were trying to run out the clock, do you really think we could've stopped them if they had to score? I think its highly unlikely given how godawful the run defense was that year and how easily manning can pick apart a soft zone (which is definitely what we would have been in), but I do agree that it would've been nice to at least have the chance.
  7. Good call CBiscuit, you must've gone to an excellent college. We wait all year for football season, so why would you possibly want to give up hope before mathematical elimination? As a fan it is a lot more enjoyable to cheer for the team every week and keep hope alive until the fat lady sings. We only get 16 games per year to watch our team, so just try and enjoy the ride instead of dwelling on the negatives.
  8. The miss in Indy didn't cost us the game. Indy ended that game by taking a knee inside our 10 yd line, they could've scored again if they needed to. Same thing with the pats game the first game of the year that year. The final score can be deceiving some times.
  9. I'm in that minority too. I was on the wrong side of a couple blowouts as a player and I hated it when teams took it easy. Its like they're saying theres no way you can stop them if they actually try to score so they're just gonna make an effort not to. To me thats more insulting than running it up. It all depends on your mentality I guess. Also, you're correct on the westbrook thing. He took a knee so that dallas wouldn't get the ball back which they would've if he scored a td. It had nothing to do with running up the score or not.
  10. Was that the derrick holmes fumble (and 99 yd fumble return)? That one still hurts. But as far as the original post I agree 100% I'm from NJ, but my dads from buffalo and I became a fan as a young child by seeing how much passion he had for the team. For the first time in a while Im not gonna be able to make it up to buffalo for a game this year because my work situations been screwed up since the market crash and I'm pretty bummed out about it. Going to games in Buffalo is a special experience, giants and jets games dont even come close as far as atmosphere and fan passion. Games like the one last night hurt so badly, but overall I'd rather be a fan of this team than any other, I really do believe that bills fans are a special breed. I've been watching the bills at a bar in maplewood, nj with my dad and my brother every sunday for the past 10 years and we've had a group of about 10 bills fans that have been showing up consistently through out the years despite the playoff drought. This isnt a bills backers bar, just a regular sports bar with direct tv. Throughout the years we'll see groups of fans form other teams come and go based on how successful their season is, but the bills fans are the only ones there every weekend no matter what. A couple years ago I went to a meaningless saturday night game at the ralph. It was snowing and about -10 degrees and the bills got blown out. But I still remember it as a great night. No matter what the product on the field, bills fans are a special group and im happy to be a part of it. The original poster is wise beyond his years, I could spend all day commiserating about what the team is doing right now, but sometimes it helps to put it all in perspective and realize WHY it means so much to us.
  11. This board is going to be filled with analysis of all sorts, but I'm in no mood for that. I was gonna be pissed if we lost no matter how it happened, but 47 yards wide right? I mean, come on, this has to be some kind of cruel joke. I can type, but I'm absolutely speechless. This game came down to one deciding factor: god hates bills fans, there can be no other explanation. It couldn't have been 48 or 46? Wide left or short? I mean, seriously. This is just awful. Im not sleeping for a while
  12. I'm surprised Kris Jenkins hasn't been called for holding on a running play yet
  13. Wow, I guess just because both of these defenses looked like the 85 bears against the bills doesn't mean they're actually that good, both teams look like they're playing against air most of the time
  14. I think a team that hovers around .500 every year is the best way to turn a fan base into alcoholics. You dont win often enough to take any of them for granted, but your not so bad that your wins dont give you hope, so after every single win WE'RE FINALLY TURNING THE CORNER, THIS IS OUR YEAR BABY, SHOTS ON ME WOOOOO! And you win often enough that you don't get used to losing, so every loss is a crushing blow to your fading playoff hopes and I CANT BELIEVE WE BLEW IT, IS THIS TEAM EVER GONNA MAKE THE PLAYOFFS AGAIN? WHY DO WE SUCK SO MUCH, GIVE ME A BOTTLE OF TEQUILA SO I CAN FORGET THAT THIS DAY EVER HAPPENED! Basically, every game is a reason to get blacked out.
  15. I agree, the bills got outplayed and would've lost even with fair officiating. I don't think anyone will argue that. However, I also think that these were some of the most suspicious calls I've ever seen. That shoulder to shoulder hit by Ko Simpson was a ticky tack call if I've ever see one. I'll see if I can find a replay to verify, but I also didn't see peters flinch in live action or on the replay on that illegal motion call. That defensive holding on stroud was just absurd, and has been bothering me, it isn't like Hochuli blowing the call in San Diego in a split second decision, this was a ref going out of his way to make a very questionable call on a very routine play, complete insanity. And Wilfork also hit duke preston square in the back 10 yards away from the play on that interception with no flag. The no call on aiken, the no review on the onside kick, and the "catch" by welker all might be excusable if they were isolated incidents, but to see all of them happen it becomes a pattern. Once agian, no excuse for getting thoroughly outplayed and out coached, but I can't remember the last time I've seen so many questionable calls go the same way in one game. The '98 game in NE was a different situation because the Bills actually deserved to win that one and the refs took it away from them, but I think the officiating in this game was much more suspect. No conspiracy theories or anything, but I'm definitely scratching my head
  16. Great play, textbook man coverage. Greer has been solid throughout the last two seasons and is still improving, I think he's the best player in the secondary hands down and has a great future ahead of him. Hopefully its with us.
  17. I was at the game the last time he came to buffalo. Favre handed us the game with a pick 6 to fletcher and a pick in the endzone to ko simpson. Green Bay beat the crap out of us on both sides of the ball, we couldn't stop the run or protect J.P. (common theme that season), but Favre completely blew the game. Hopefully he's got some more picks left in that arm of his.
  18. Obviously you don't listen to the show. They're gonna suck up to JK, talk about how great the bills are playing, talk about what a bright future this team has. And if Kelly says the bills are a legit contender this year, they will both nod in agreement. Then on friday they'll say that if chad pennington could throw for 300 on us Favre will thorw for 600, the bills were exposed last week, jets win outright.
  19. A man that sleeps on a mattress made completely of 100 dollar bills and goes swimming in a pool filled with gold coins (scrooge mcduck style) if he's getting paid royalties every time that commercial plays.
  20. This may sound extreme, but I really think that Vince Wilfork should be kicked out of the league. I definitely agree with Hines Ward and Troy Polamalu that hard hits are a part of the game and sometimes they result in injury. When people are making hard, leagal hits in the heat of battle while trying to make plays to help their team win, there shouldn't be fines or suspensions. But Wilfork is a different case. He consistently does things that have no purpose other than intentionally trying to injure opponents. This type of crap has no place in football and I find it disgusting. He's an embarassment to the game
