  1. Way to go out on a limb, Beerball. Get off the fence and pick a number like the rest of us.
  2. it is still very early for predictions, but I am really optimistic. Between the relatively easy schedule and all the players we've added, I am thinking that we win at least 10 games.
  3. Agreed. would love to get a big, fast outside WR and a playmaking OLB and then worry about backup QB
  4. He signed with the Pats today
  5. The Eagles will use Mike Kaftka as their backup this year and they drafted Nick Foles in the 3rd round this year as well. Trent Edwards is not in their plans for this season and neither was VY.
  6. If we sign VY, then I don't think Smith is a lock. VY can fill the Wild cat role and we have others who are as good or better in the return game. But I think Smith's versatility is a strength and allows the team to manipulate roster numbers a bit (keeping fewer receivers and special teams specific players). It willbe interesting to see how this shakes out. But if we keep Thigpen, then I think Smith stays for sure.
  7. That's really cool
  8. I think if Mario didn't care, he would have picked a new number already
  9. I agree 100%. I have no problem with people having their own opinions and voicing them. But I have no patience for idle threats. If you honestly will quit on the Bills if they sign VY, please quit now and save us the whining. If you will not quit, then STFU and stop with the tantrum.
  10. And Brad's wife helped to recruit Mrs. Mario Williams. Brad is the man.
  11. It can't hurt to have both. Young players can learn from the coaches in the film and meeting rooms and on the practice field. But they can learn from teammates all day, every day. Watching a guy's work ethic, how he prepares, litte things he does. Ways he prepares or attacks certain things. It happens all the time. I understand your point about coaches, but veteran leadership exists and is important, in my opinion. I have no idea if Clark has anything left, but he is definitely someone worth bringing in for a look.
  12. I am not bashing Graham at all. I think Chan will find lots of uses for him in the Offense. If you watch his highlights, most of his catches where quick slants or WR screens. Plays where the QB got the ball in his hands and game him a chance to make a play. He was not utilized much as a down field threat. That's not to say we won't use him in that way, just that his primary experience is not in that type of roll. You cannot coach speed. If he can stay healthy and is willing to work hard, he should be a valuable addition to the team.
  13. taking him at ten would have been a High risk situation. Having him fall to us in Rd2 is the opposite of high risk. If he plays well at LT, it is a gift from god. If he plays well at RT or G, it is still a good pick. The only risk is if he completely flames out, which does not seem likely. Even if he is a complete bust, he is still just a second round pick. There is very little risk with this pick and potentially tremendous upside. I don't think the Bills envision Graham as a deep threat/outside receiver. I expect him to be used more like Roscoe. He will be getting WR screens and quick slants and then will use his elusiveness and speed for RAC yards. I'm sure they will send him on some fly patterns to keep the Defense honest but I don't think that will be his bread and butter.
  14. wasn't that about 20 years ago? Players are much bigger now.
  15. I forgive you, Bill. I understand your concern with this pick given McKelvin's failure and Whitner's mediocrity. But this is a new regime. I believe Buddy has a plan for building this team into a winner and I really respect his player evaluations. I don't always agree with the picks at the time(see Spiller, CJ). But as the plan comes together, I am starting the see the wisdom of it and giving Buddy more leeway. For the first time in a long time, I feel really good about the team and it's direction and I respect the players. We have a team that is very easy to like and to root for. I'm just going to sit back, watch the show and enjoy it.
  16. thanks for your opinions. I repsectfully disagree. There is not a team in the league that always drafts strictly BPA. There are many more factors involved. Including the fact that calculating who the BPA is for that team might take into account their needs. So in a sense, they can draft for need and BPA and need at the same time. I get what you are saying about Favre and I agree with you to a point. I just think that Rodgers might just have been one of those "too good to pass up" draft picks. There are times when a guy drops to a team that was never expected to be there and you just have to draft him. That does not mean that the team will only draft BPA each and every time. Now that I think about it, this is really a silly argument we are having. There are many factors involved in what player a team drafts. For instance, if you go strictly by BPA, why do teams pass on a player who does not fit their scheme or has injury concerns or character issues? Let me put it to rest. You are right, teams always select what they consider BPA. But BPA is not simply ranking the players from 1-254 and selecting them as they fall. Team needs and depth charts are a factor. Character issues and injury issues are a factor. Depth at a given position is a factor (meaning that players at a position with less depth might get higher rankings). Needs of other team around you in each round are a consideration. Trade offers from other teams are a consideration. So, yeah, you are right. BPA all the way.
  17. I think Buddy likes to maximize his chances. He wants as many picks as possible. If he need a LT, WR, CB and LB, he wants to select two of each rather than giving up picks to move up and only gamble on 1 of each.
  18. I'm sure it could be done, but Buddy has pretty clearly stated that he does not like to give up picks. I do not expect this to happen.
  19. they had Favre who was a aging, highly paid QB with injury problems, pain killer addiction and who apparently enjoyed texting pictures of his junk to people. They were in a position where there roster was pretty stacked and they could afford to draft a highly rated QB prospect and let him sit behind Favre until such point he was ready to play and they could move Favre, This was not strictly a case or BPA. The closest case you could make would be Detroit who selected 3 straight WRs with their top picks in 3 consiecutive drafts. Look how that worked out for them. And if BPA is a hard and fast rule, why do teams trade up and down the draft. Why would St Louis not just stay at #2 and take RGIII ?
  20. BPA is a made up cliche. The teams will grade players. Then when it is their turn, they look at their positinoal needs. They look at the available players and they try to determine which positions have depth and which do not. If they decide they they need a WR and an OT and they have two prospects rated closely, they look at which position they feel will be harder to address in later rounds and that is what they take. It is pretty easy to understand. If you were strictly going BPA, they could potentially be forced to select 10 linebackers because that is the player that was BPA in each round.
  21. Mrs Tannehill is a butterface
  22. Well, on the plus side, atleast he doesn't have to go to Cincinnati. But seriiously, he should easily be able to track down who the caller was, right? Caller ID has removed tha anonymity and fun or prank calling. "hello, is your refrigerator running" "Yes" "Well, you'd better go catch it"
  23. Agreed. My point was that Banks completed mis-stated what Nix has said all along. Nix never said we needed to come away with a starter at LT.
  24. His quote is way off base. Buddy has said that we want to add 2 tackles for depth and that they love Chris Hairston as the starer at LT. He never once said we need a starting LT from this draft. I would be happy with this pick, but Banks needs to check his factual accuracy.
  25. I am starting to understand how you got to over 8000 posts
