  1. There is absolutely no chance that Gailey steps down without being for to. Unless Nix tries to force him to resign by demanding he turn over play calling duties or something, Gailey will not step down. Nix will have to fire him. I still think that Gailey will be brought back next year unless we get destroyed in the next two games and Ralph demands a change.
  2. I agree with taking 2 QB I would love to see a QB in rd1 and 3 and a LB in rd 2 and 4 Not all rookie WRs take that long to develop (see AJ Green).
  3. From your list, here are the candidates I would like to see the Bills consider: Bruce Arians Brian Billick Jack DelRio Tony Dungy Kevin Greene Russ Grimm Jim Fassel Perry Fewell Hue Jackson Chip Kelly Mark Trestman A few additional possible candidates: Mike Nolan Mike Zimmer David Shaw
  4. Glad to see Urbik is sticking around. I like to see the Bills retaining solid players at fair prices. It always bugs me when we let good players leave and then have another hole to fill. We have enough needs, this move makes sure we have one less hole to fill. Good job, Buddy.
  5. No link, but I heard the interview on WGR. Buddy did not say how long the contract was for but said the Chan had 'time left on his deal after this season" (paraphrased quote). He said no extension would be necessary for Chan to be here next year.
  6. NOPE Chan was such a hot commodity that they had to give him a longer term contract than normal to make sure we did not lose him to Southern Idaho Community College. The guys on WGR were mocking the Bills earlier in the year when word came out that Chan actually received more than a standard 3yr deal which was always assumed.
  7. I had read that he had signed a 5 year deal when he came onboard. But even if he only has 1 yr left he would not need an extension this offseason to be back next year.
  8. Chan would not need an extension. He still has two years left on his deal.
  9. I still believe they will bring back Gailey. Maybe force him to dump Wanny and Modkins but I think Chan will be back.
  10. I laugh out loud every time I see this thread titile.
  11. The problem for any rookie QB coming in to this team is that the team sucks and the coaches suck. The young QBs who are doing well are on solid teams with good coaches. Lots of other young QBs have come into the league over the last few years and not done well (Gabbert, Locker, Ponder, McCoy, Tebow, Sanchez, Weeden, Etc). My point is, just because the Bills draft a QB in the upcoming draft, we cannot assume our problems are solved. Also, I would suggest that the Bills select 2 QBs this year. Go with one in Rd1 and then one in Rd3-4. One of the two should hopefully work out for us.
  12. Sadly, I have to agree. Nix has said so. Gailey will be for atleast another year.
  13. If Gailey is back next year and they draft a QB, Gailey is the HC for atleast 2-3 more seasons because they will have the excuse of a 'yound QB developing". I want Chan gone before the QB of the future is drafted, but I know that will not happen.
  14. Isn't 2013 the start of when all teams are required to spend like 98% of the cap? Our payroll should increase quite a bit, right? My thought is that we have lots of cap room, so Ralph won't need to (nor want to) shell out extra bonus money upfront to get cap room.
  15. I don;t know anything about Woods, but I would absolutely love the Bills to get a player like AJ Green. Is Woods that same style receiver?
  16. exactly. He's not giving back any money. But if Ralph wants to pony up the salary into a bonus payout, then I'm sure Mario would agree.
  17. Some random thoughts about your post 1.) I don't expect Gailey to be fired 2.) I just don't think Chip Kelly would ever be interested in coming here but it would be awesome 3.) I do think we will draft a QB or two 4.) I doubt we could get anything for Fitz via trade considering his contract. I would not surprise me if he were also back next year 5.) Would love it if we signed Mauluga. Don't know anything about Moore but I would prefer it if we just kept Byrd 6.) I don't think Gailey will give up control of the offense to a new OC. I think there's a better chance that he is fired or resigns. 7.) I like the idea of drafting Te'o or Jones and then trading back into Rd1 for a QB 8.) I'd be fine with signing Jennings but I don't think he fits the need for the Bills. They want a big, young Outside Receiver 9.) Totally agree that we need depth at C and TE
  18. Read the title of the thread.
  19. Yes, Spiller is producing at roughly the same rate at Lynch. So, are we better off with Spiller and a late 3rd round pick or Lynch and a top ten pick? The whole conversation is about whether the Bills roster as a whole is better than 3 years ago and I say no. I would rather have kept Lynch and use the Spiller pick on an OL or LB or WR to improve the roster as a whole. Marginally improving the strongest position on the roster at the time was stupid.
  20. Right, but he is not markedly better. Lynch has made a probowl and been to the playoffs, Spiller has not. We should have kept Lynch. The Spiller pick was stupid. If Spiller was blowing away Lynch and scoring a bunch more TDs then I could justify the pick. He was supposed to be the "home run" back. He isn't. Chan doesn't use him enough. Is that because Chan doesn't trust him? Spiller doesn;t know the playbook? Spiller gets winded? Not sure. The point is, We are not better off today than we were 3 years ago. Spiller is roughly equivalent to Lynch and cost a top ten pick. That's a high price for little no improvement. You forgot: Levy/ Jauron 7-9 Nix/Gailey will be lucky to hit 7-9
  21. Thats the point. Spiller in his best year of his career still has not achieved what Lynch has. Lynch has more yards and almost twice as many TD's as Spiller. Picking Spiller was a complete waste. We are no better off with him now than we were with Lynch 3 years ago. We should have used that pick on an OL
  22. I never mentioned "franchise" anything. I like Spiller and think he is a solid player. Was he a bad pick for the Bills at #9? HELL YES. We already had Freddy and Marshawn. Does Spiller have potential to be better than both, probably yes. Has he accomplished it, HELL NO. I would much prefer that the Bills had kept Lynch and Jackson and used the 9th pick on another need.
  23. It is a waste when: 1.) you already have 2 quality RBs on your roster (1 of whom made the probowl, something Spiller hasnt done) 2.) you have a ton of needs elsewhere (most importantly QB) 3.) when you trade your current probowl RB whom Spiller replaced on the roster for a 3rd round pick (after selecting that RB in the 1st round too) 4.) when your 'game changing RB" cant even get on the field much in his rookie year because he doesn't learn the playbook 5.) when your 'game changing RB" still doesn't get the ball enough after 3 years because the HC doesn;t have confidence in him to pass block, cannot figure out how to effective use him or because he "gets winded" I realize everyone is excited by the flashes that Spiller has shown, but he has still yet to produce on the field at a level that Lynch has. To this point, it was a HORRIBLE move to draft him and trade Lynch.
  24. Off the top of my head, I agreed with your assessment but then I went back and looked at the 2009 starters and our current roster is equal or worse. Overall it is really depressing how we have little to no improvement in the overall quality of the roster after 3 terrible seasons on the field, drafting in the top 10 for 3 years and spending close to $150m in Free agency. If I were Ralph, I would be very pissed off right now.
  25. I would say that we are marginally better talentwise. But we still lake playmakers/stars at the important positions and our coaching is horrible.
