  1. The Rivers bashing here is somewhat laughable...Now I will say this...It is possible at this point that Rivers is on the permanent decline...This is his 9th Season...It happens...BUT...We're talking about a QB with a CAREER 95 QB Rating, and a 2:1 TD to INT ratio...He is light years better than what we have now...Even though he would not be my QB of choice from here on out...Still...Rivers has had a hell of a good 8 NFL years..And assuming he would be better than Fitz in Gailey's Offense is like assuming a bear craps in the woods...It's an easy assumption to make....
  2. It's funny because way back after Fitz's first year with Gailey...The Edwards year...There were many here who said they wanted Fitz to be the QB because they believed he was going to be just like Drew Brees...He was only going to get better now that he had all this great Coaching...My argument was simple...The Fitz backers were ignoring the evidence they had right in front of them, Fitz's record and stats to that point...So I asked over and over again...What if he does not continue to get better? What if he continues to be who he has been to this point...Up and down and limited? What then? You know what assuming gets you? Well now it's not what if, it's what now? I don't think anyone needed a crystal ball to know this was going to happen with Fitz...Nix and Gailey should have known...I blame them...
  3. No offense...But if you think most of Fitz mistakes come from play calling I have to question your overall ability to critique the QB position...It's not play calling...It's Fitz...You do realize he's been doing this for a while now don't you?...In the NFL as a Starter...There is evidence...He's Fitz...And he's always going to be Fitz...He will most certainly get hot again...That's what he does...Then he gets cold again...He still can't hit a deep pass...And so on...And so on...
  4. No question...But I'm pretty sure the better QB's in the league do similar things, and still manage to hit a receiver in stride every now and again...
  5. All that is true... But the way they are playing, and being Coached, right now they have zero chance of making the Playoffs...They have a QB who looks awful, a Defense that has tackling problems among other things, injury issues on both lines, and Coaches without a clue at times... Can they turn it around? No question...But based on the way they look right now I'm going to be guarded with ANY optimism...I've learned my lesson...
  6. Positives: The Defense played the run better and got good pressure at times vs a terrible O-Line...Spiller and Freddie look most-of-the-way back...BYRD... Negatives: Fitz, he's awful...Missed freaking tackles, just terrible tackling at times...The QB scrambles allowed, without them Az had almost no Offense...Gailey and his cute play calling again...
  7. IF he comes out...I don't think he'll go in the 2nd or 3rd...Meaning he'll come out if he gets a 1st Round Grade from the Advisory Board... I think it's important to remember that QB's are going to continue to be over-drafted due to the Rookie Salary scale...
  8. Exactly... Hopefully... Not if they play Defense the way they did the last 6 Quarters...
  9. Slow and stiff? Really? Not at Alabama he wasn't...No way... UGH!!! This kills me because the kid is my favorite Bills player...It just kills me...But... Folks...It's pretty much this simple IMHO...Dareus ran a 4.92 and killed it at the Combine in just about every area...He was a stand out player in his last 2 years at Alabama...Quick and strong...Almost a flawless prospect...So what has happened? 20 plus pounds, that's what...Dareus weighed in at 319 at Indy...He admitted to being about 340 at Camp this year...I'm trying to find the interview where he shrugged off the question about his weight...But there is no question it's effecting his play...He's only 6-3...He needs to be at about 315-320...Just look at him...He looks overweight...It's a problem because Dareus combined strength with quickness to become one of the better College DT's coming out in recent years...The extra lbs have killed that quickness...I can't believe the Bills Coaching Staff let him get that big...It tells me a lot about the lack of attention to detail Chan has passed down...It also makes me wonder about Dareus' work ethic and desire to be the best he can be... And it's JMO...But I don't think the death of his brother is the main cause of his down play whatsoever...And I'm not trying to say he's not effected by it either...What I am saying is Bills Fans have just started to notice what was apparent before the death of the kids brother...This is not something new with Dareus...He's showed flashes, but he's rarely played up to his capability since he's been a Buffalo Bill...And he's been terrible vs the run for the majority of his Pro career...Go watch the tape...You'll see...Players who have 1/4 of Marcell's physical ability are FAR better vs the run... Marcell is underachieving it's nothing new, and the Bills passed on not one, not two, not even three, but FIVE Pro-Bowl players in favor of Dareus...You just gotta love this Teams luck... It's not too late for Dareus to turn it around...But he's going to have to drop the weight, grow a killer instinct, and regain that quickness off the ball he lacks all too often now...
  10. Not to mention Julio Jones, JJ Watt, and Aldon Smith were all Drafted after the Top 5...
  11. Excellent simplification!!!
  12. Well...I'm not sure how much actual facts matter on this board...But the effort is definitely appreciated by some of us...
  13. Agreed...The guys on WGR's afternoon show made a great point today...They were talking about how both Chan and Nix are always saying "Fitz has done it before, " or "We've seen Fitz do it, we know what he can do..." And it's really getting a bit ridiculous...It's the type of thing you can say about the great one's...We have seen Brady and Brees do it before...We can assume they will do it again...They are proven over an extended period of time...They have proven they can be consistent, and they have proven they can beat you all over the field...They have proven they can take a Team to the Playoffs, they have proven they can win a SB...So if Brady, or Brees, or Rogers has an off game...Or a couple off games...It's reasonable to assume they will bounce back...Fitz has no where near that kind of resume...So when they flippantly say "We've seen him do it before, " and they assume due to that he's going to do it again, and be just fine...Well...You know what happens when you assume... BTW...I don't think Nix or Gailey are that dumb...I think they know, and I think they are towing the Company line for now...If Fitz does not completely turn this thing around over the next 11 games he will be replaced in 2013...They simply can't be that stupid...
  14. If we had a better Defense we would win more Games because our Defense is better...It would not fix Fitz...Not for the long-term at least...It would help a few games...But he would still be Fitz...He would still have his same limitations...No matter how happy the Fitz backers are that the Defense has sucked 3 games this year...It's still an excuse that does not hold water...Fitz is still Fitz...defenses will still pack-in and dare him to go deep...He will still have a noodle-arm...He'll never be good enough because good NFL Teams that don't have great QB's, but have sound Defenses (ie...Cincy last year, Baltimore, San Fran, etc...)...even those teams have FAR better QB's than Fitz...Because they have better arms than Fitz...They can burn you deep...
  15. Regardless of our ultra-terrible Defense...Between the SF game, and the NE game, Fitz missed no less than 6 passes that could have gone for TD's...At the very least they would have been VERY long gains...He kills you more with the plays he does not make...Other than that he's about average...I will say this for him...On all 6 of those plays he made the proper read and threw it to the right receiver...He just missed them...badly...Two resulting in INT's...He's smart...He reads Defenses well...He simply does not have the physical abilities throwing the ball accurately that the better NFL QB's do...That has killed him throughout his career...And that will continue to kill all of us in Buffalo... It's hard for me to imagine a scenario where The Bills do not take a QB in the 1st round of next years Draft...Of course this whole thing has not played out yet...And we have 11 games left...But the way it looks right now it HAS to be QB or bust in 2013...
  16. Because mediocrity, or slightly above it in Buffalo is equal to Super Bowl caliber elsewhere...We're living on a prayer, and it ain't a Bon Jovi Hit Song either...
  17. All I know at this point (or at least I'm pretty sure about) is that Geno Smith is going #1 overall...I know people had him lower coming in to the Season, but he's rising (as he should) the way RG3 did last year...I can't see how he is not the 1st Pick in 2013...There is no Andrew Luck to hold him off... Beyond that it's still WAY early...
  18. Agreed...The change in Rookie wages has pushed QB's up the Draft Board...It's less of a financial risk now at the most important Position...If you want to wait until the 2nd Round you may be VERY unhappy with what is left over...
  19. But he's never experienced anything like the NE loss...Right Chan?
  20. You really think he could stick in NE, with Bill Belichick, if he was a head case? Some of the knock on (rumors about) Mallett before the Draft was also that he was a meth-addict...Don't believe everything you read...Mallett is no Fitz when it come to book learning...But he is the son of an old school Football Coach, and he LOVES Football...Mallett's biggest problem is always going to be his lack of foot quickness...Though that has certainly not hurt Brady in the Pats Offense...He's not a head case, nor is he a locker room problem...That crap is all over...
  21. Ummm....Not so much... http://wgr550.com/WH...plays-/14484839
