  1. The Shout Box and a Twitter quotes... Okey doke...Enough said...
  2. Oh wow! 2 points I completely disagree with... The Bills strength on O-Line is from Guard to Guard. Buddy Nix is on record already saying they are fine there...He's also on record that the Bills will take an OT in this Draft...So I'm thinking DeCastro is not going to happen...Martin or Adams at #10 or in a Trade Down is a much better possibility IMHO... Ronnell Lewis played a hybrid Position and spent the majority of his College career with his hand on the ground setting the edge (which he was pretty good at), and rushing the QB (which he was very average at)...He's a great Special Teams Player and he loves to hit...He's a high motor guy...His size does not project that well to a DE in a 4-3, and he's DEFINITELY not a 4-3 OLB...At least not yet he's not, and it's a major projection at this time...He would be a HUGE liability in Coverage initially because he's all but never done it, and when he has he's not natural...He has VERY average speed (4.68)...He was really a College DE, no matter what his Position says...And switching from College DE to Pro 4-3 OLB is a stretch for players with a lot better speed than Lewis...Plus he had academic issues...I'm not saying Lewis will not be a good Pro...But I don't think he's a good fit for Buffalo...Especially in the 2nd Round...Good God no!
  3. Seriously? Who in their right mind would ever call this a "Dream Team." That was a good chuckle though...
  4. Well... I'm thinking...If The Bills were truly interested in Tebow 2 years ago, and all indications including those from Tebow himself point in that direction, then what would stop them from being interested now? He has shown, in a very small period of time, exactly what most Scouts felt about him all along...He does somethings extremely well, some things very poorly, and he needs a lot of work...But he was still a 1st Round Pick...And my guess is he would go no lower than the 2nd Round of this Draft...no Manning, and Tebow is the Starting QB for the Denver Broncos in 2012...He's one of the 32... Now the benefit is he's had two years in the NFL...He's got some on-the-job training... I do think Nix will feel if anybody can get something more out of Tebow as a Passer it will be Gailey...And Fitz would be as good a mentor as Tebow could possibly ask for... But then there is the circus aspect which I want no part of... I do think Tebow is better than Thigpen...But is his upside as good as say, Brock Osweiler? I don't know...This is a tough call...But I'm guessing if the Bills were interested before, they will be interested again...
  5. Cousins played a LOT more than Osweiler in College, but as far as upside is concerned it's really not close...Cousins has back-up written all over him...He's a system guy who is an awesome leader, but not much beyond that...Osweiler can pretty much be as good as he want to be...He has all the tools...He's tall, athletic, and he really has only scratched the surface...I think when you're talking about a 4th Round Pick I'd rather take a flyer on greatness instead of drafting a guy who may or may not be better than Tyler Thigpen in 3 years...Just my opinion... And as far as the 5th Round Picks go, what is up with Trevor Guyton getting all this support? I really wonder sometimes if the word has gotten out about the Bills switching back to the 4-3? Guyton is a 3-4 End...Maybe an undersized 4-3 DT in a pinch...But we have Carrington and Spencer Johnson already...Why would The Bills want a guy like Guyton who's not a natural DE in a 4-3? Anyway... I went with OLB Nigel Bradham and TE Rhett Ellison this Round...I like Bradham's upside, and he fits the 4-3 OLB role...I think Ellison would be a nice value-grab in the 5th...He would give The Bills some versatility and a TE who is pretty sure handed...He's not going to stretch any Defenses...But he's a solid Player who can make the Team as the 3rd TE... But admittedly it's already getting a bit thin...
  6. Ronnell Lewis basically played DE with his hand on the ground at Oklahoma... Projecting him to an NFL 4-3 OLB is a HUGE stretch...I could see the projection if he had 4.5 speed...But he's a 4.67 guy with virtually zero experience in Coverage...I really don't know where this idea that he is a 4-3 OLB comes from...Maybe in time...But I doubt it...
  7. Agreed...There are many Scouts who feel Reiff is an NFL RT and nothing more...If you take an OT at #10, you have to be darn sure he's going to be a LT...I'm not sure that is the case with Reiff...And I think that's why, in the end, The Bills go with Martin...
  8. Yes! The Red is cooler 100% of the time...
  9. Problem is in this Mock we already have Jeffery, and if Easley comes back healthy there is more than enough Depth at WR...Stevie, Jeffery, Nelson, Jones, Easley, Clowney, Martin, Roosevelt, Aiken, and they still may try to bring back Hagan who played pretty well down the stretch...That's not including QB/WR Brad Smith...And the fact that The Bills will likely use Spiller a lot more in the Passing Game...Just can't see The Bills Drafting 2 WR's in the first 4 Rounds...
  10. Well...Team chemistry does not mean crap if you don't have QB who can get you to the promise land...And there are plenty of 6 Win teams that got that way because their QB was not good enough...So... Not saying this is necessarily the case with Fitz...Just saying...
  11. Haha! Touche My friend...Touche...
  12. Jonathan Martin - "Warning signs for a lack of heart." What? I still think Martin is the Pick at #10...I definitely don't believe he lacks heart whatsoever...We'll see though...
  13. The word on NFL Network was the Coach actually wanted him, but the rest of the Organization was not as high on Flynn figuring he was not much better than Moore...Plus I think they do want Tannehill...
  14. UGH! I REALLY hate that Lewis Pick...I just wonder if some Folks around here understand we're a 4-3 Defense now? And what it takes to be an OLB in a 4-3... Anyway...It only let me vote once and I took Osweiler...I would love to see what Chan can do with that Kid over the next few years...And in the 4th I think he brings nice value...If I had a 2nd Pick it would be the CB Norman...I would have preferred to have a DE by now...But Y'all ruined it by not taking Jones in the 3rd...
  15. Saw that before Astro...Still don't think he's a 4-3 OLB...And if he is Drafted to be a 4-3 OLB it's gonna take some serious time to convert him...The 3rd Round is too early for positional-projections if you ask me...You want a Kid that can come in and contribute, even if it's just as a back-up...Moving from having your hand on the ground most of the time to playing OLB in an NFL 4-3 is a HUGE projection to make for players who are quicker twitch athletes than Lewis is...I'm telling you, he has no home in this Defense...Kinda like Danny Batten now...Granted he should be a core Special Teamer for anyone that Drafts him...But we'll see...It's not so much about the Player, it's about the fit...I don't like him for The Bills at all in the 3rd...4th or later, maybe we can talk...
  16. Gotta be packed with incentives though right? Sounds to me like Teams are being cautious about throwing guaranteed money at that neck...But if he performs I'm sure any deal will get Manning up there to Bradyland dollars-wise...
  17. Ronnell Lewis? I don't know...He's a bit of a projection as an OLB in a 4-3 and he's too small to play DE...Yes...he's strong, nasty, a good tackler, and a good Run Defender...But he runs almost 4.7...He'll be a MAJOR liability in Pass Coverage...I mean MAJOR!...I just don't see that Kid as a high 3rd Round Pick whatsoever to a 4-3 Team...He'll be a converted College DE/OLB trying to move to OLB in an NFL 4-3...That's an awful tough move for a Rookie and a bit of a projection...I'm not saying he won't be a 3rd Round Pick...But I don't think he's a great fit for the 4-3... Travis Lewis is a better fit for the 4-3, and was thought to be a potential 1st Round Pick after his 2010 Season...But he ran a SUPER slow 4.88 at the Combine...He was known to play at around 230 lbs, but showed up weighing 246 at Indy...So maybe that's why he ran so slow...He might still be available in the 4th...I would take him there... Bentley is a decent prospect, but he struggled in man-to-man at Louisiana-Lafayette, I seriously doubt he's going to get better in the NFL any time soon...He could go in the 3rd due to his showing at the Sr Bowl, but I still think he's more of a 4th-5th Rounder... Bequette is a scrapper and I like his size...But I'd rather take Jones and gamble on his upside...I like DE in the 3rd, then wait to see what is available at CB and LB in the 4th...But who knows how it's actually going to shake out?
  18. I can't believe the way this one is going! But Martin and Jeffery are literally my 1st choices in Rounds 1 and 2...And Chandler Jones would be my 1st choice in Round #3...Jones is going to need some Pro Coaching and Strength Training, but he's a heck of a good athlete with long arms and Pass Rush ability...He's raw, but I think he's got the kind of upside you're looking for in the 3rd Round... And he'll provide nice Depth at DE... Plus his brother can kick your ass...
  19. Martin and Jeffery would be my dream scenario for Rounds 1 and 2...Then load up on Defense from there...
  20. Totally agree and I've been saying so for Months now...Jeffery's got to stay serious about his conditioning, which I think will be no problem with this Bills locker room keeping him in check...He has serious talent...The type of stuff some guys are just born with...Going all the way back to his HS Highlights he's been a difference maker... That being said there are concerns about Jeffery's work-ethic, quickness, and ability to get off the press...He was hurt badly by the QB change at SC...But he showed what he can do at the Bowl Game when properly motivated...He's going to have to have an amazing Private Workout to work his way back into the 1st Round...But that is possible still... But no question Jeffery is the exact WR I though of when Buddy made that comment...I think he would be a steal in the 2nd Round...
  21. Exactly... It was always a gamble anyway...But now, with Mario...well...I'm not going to expect anything from Merriman...But just for a second imagine what this Bills Pass Rush will be like on 3rd Down if he's healthy...The potential payoff is well worth the gamble... Because this Defense could be flat out nasty if Merriman returns to form...Just nasty...
  22. From what I read they served their 4 Games in weeks 14-17 last Season... It is strange that the Skins would bring Bell in...I can't imagine he's going to get a better deal than The Bills offered to be a RT in Washington...Seems like a desperation move by his Agent to get him some attention... I'm not just saying this because I'm a Bills Fan...But Bell's best move now would definitely be to re-sign with The Bills...At least for a year to see if he can re-gain some career momentum...I think Kalil, Martin, and Adams will be Starting LT's as Rookies, or shortly thereafter...The opportunities as a Starting LT are drying up for DB REAL fast...This may very well work out in The Bills favor...
  23. Well...We'll see... I agree 100% The Bills need Depth at LB...But a lot of this depends on Merriman, his health, and his quickness...If he's back and fairly healthy, Merriman will fill a role as a 3rd Down OLB/DE at the very least...But that does not mean he can't be a BIG help on base downs in a 4-3...It all depends on his health...I think a younger Shawne Merriman could have played just about any LB Position in a 3-4 or a 4-3...He was that good...Now?...Who knows? I think Batten is a REAL bad fit for a 4-3 unless he can move inside...And that's a major projection...Moats at least has a little more experience moving around...But that's not saying much... Anyway...The top 3 look to be Morrison, Shep, and Barnett for now...I think The Bills will look to add a bargain UFA, and at least one Draft Pick at LB...Then, like last year, they'll hold out hope that Merriman turns back to "Light's Out."
  24. Well I said I have no idea just to make it clear I did not have any inside info...I was trying to say I don't know, but I have an educated guess...Probably a poor choice of words...but anyway...
