  1. I tend to agree with your take...I think this mentality of Marrone's was the basis for cutting Da'Rick Rogers as well...It seems to me that Marrrone has a vision, but the vision is his way, or the highway...And I really don't think that works all that well for a first year HC coming from College...Of course it works better for Belichick...He's got multiple rings dating back to his Coordinator days...Marrone has diddly-squat...So he's taking a heck of a chance by hard-lining instead of trying to develop ways to get through to these guys on an individual basis...Marrone, at least to me, seems like the kind of guy who will be the first to tell you how hard he works, but for all that hard work he's not going to allow it to come out of his comfort zone...Look at the comments he made after he cut Rogers...They were ridiculous...He kept talking about keeping players who have produced over a long period of time while he was actually only keeping ONE WR that had ANY production in the NFL to speak of... I'm going to give Marrone the benefit of the doubt for now...But as a Bills fans I think we should all be aware that there is plenty to be concerned with about this guy...It's not enough to simply be the guy who's heart bleeds for Buffalo Bills football...It's a good start don't get me wrong...But Head Coaching in the NFL takes a LOT more than that...And I'm uncertain Marrone has the real people skills it takes to get uncomfortable a little in order to get more from a player down the road...We'll see I guess...
  2. Agreed...I think based on the way this year turned out Marrone is pretty lucky he went to Buffalo...Because if anything this year I think you could point directly at coaching for the difference in a least a few games...Especially on Offense and ST's...And even more especially because the CEO, ex GM, new GM, and the HC himself literally raved about the talent already on the team this past off season...
  3. I think generally the potential of a multi-million dollar contract is motivation enough for most of these kids when they have the kind of raw abilities Dareus has...The real test is how they do after they get those millions... I think there is way, way, way more to the Dareus story dating back to the first day he showed up in Buffalo that many of us here simply are not privy to...He was 318 lbs at his Combine and showed up at his first Training Camp at over 340...He immediately used the story that he needed to beef up to play the nose...Or something like that...Just look at his pictures from Bama to now and it's crystal clear he's much heavier...Though I do think they got him to slim down a little this year...What has always been true is that Dareus is vastly gifted naturally...His raw power and quickness easily mask some of that extra weight...But what is also clear is that at around 320, the guy is nearly unmatched as far as physical capability goes...Casey Hampton went to 5 Pro Bowls at right around 325...Marcell does not need the extra weight to be effective IMHO...He needs to be at around 325 so he can dominate...I think the fact that Marcell plays as well as he does at whatever weight he's at now is actually proof of how dominant he would be if he shed the other 15 lbs or so...But maybe that's just me...
  4. Not sure how you're reading it...Maybe I'm reading it wrong... But according to the ESPN chart here...http://espn.go.com/n...osition/defense...They allowed the 8th most KR yards, and the 16th most on average, in the NFL...Also they allowed the 5th most PR yards and the 8th most on average in that category...
  5. We? Who the heck is we? I would not hire the guy to cut my grass...I never liked him...Ever...Like ever, ever... And I'm pretty certain there were plenty around here who wanted nothing to do with Frazier...Not saying no one wanted him...I'm sure there were some...But I don't remember any large groundswells or anything like that...
  6. 32nd in KO return yards, 29th in Punt return yards...15th most KO return yards allowed...8th most Punt return yards allowed... Ouch...
  7. I think it's all about natural instincts and vision with CJ...The great backs with his-type of ability (like McCoy and Charles) seems to glide through the little creases while CJ always seems to find the closest tackler...They say in the NFL the RB has to beat at least one guy to get a decent gain, and with all his natural ability CJ rarely does that...I just think he struggles when the blocking is not phenomenal...And great backs, heck even good backs like Freddie who have a better feel for it, make that 1st guy miss a lot...IMHO If CJ had McCoy's, or Jamal Charles' feel for the game and natural instincts he would have 2000 yards every season...But he's just not in their league...
  8. No Seahawks or Niners? Not once? I did the same...Ran it 12 times...Got... Colts - 3 Patsies - 2 Eagles - 2 Panthers - 1 Packers - 1 Niners - 1 Seahawks - 1 Broncos - 1 The Seahawks only went to the SB once in 12 simulations and they won that one... It was kind of cool though...
  9. Glass houses man...Glass houses...
  10. I don't doubt the Bills would improve vs the run by getting a player like Nix, but I seriously doubt they go that way...Just too much invested in the D-Line already...They are going to have to figure out a way to make it work with what they have now, and hopefully add an ILB who can plug the middle and chase sideline to sideline so Kiko can swing to the weak side...
  11. Unfortunately this is what the mass of over-information and over-opinion prior to a Draft results in... OK (some) folks...We understand most Draft pundits did not believe Cordy Glenn was an NFL LT...But he has clearly proven those pundits incorrect with his actual play on the field, in the actual NFL...Stop reading his Draft reports and watch the freaking kid play...He's got 29 NFL starts as a LT...Put in a freaking tape and watch him...
  12. Maybe because the Bills can't score nearly enough and need help at WR, TE, and O-Line for starters?... But I'm not going to debate that they need help on D...And if they go that way Mosley would certainly be a nice addition...I just don't think they'll go that way...
  13. Cordy Glenn already is a quality LT...About a Month ago PFF had him the #3 ranked Pass Blocking OT in the entire league... I really don't know where this idea that Glenn needs to be moved inside comes from...He's virtually a prototype LT physically...He's massive, strong as an ox, long arms...VERY fast for his size, and certainly athletic for a big man...He may not have the best feet, but his footwork is not bad either...Plus he stays healthy and continues to improve...
  14. We had two of the most explosive return men in the league in Goodwin on kicks and McLovin on punts and basically got nothing out of either of them all year...
  15. Outside of their height there is nothing remotely comparable between Hardy and Evans... And no offense...But can we nip the comparison of potential Draft picks to Bills busts in the bud right now? ...One of my biggest pet peeves on this board... I think the Bills will look to bring an ILB in during Free Agency in order to move Kiko to the weak side...Then concentrate on the Offensive side early in the Draft... I guy I LOVE when he's healthy is Jon Beason...
  16. The off season is always the Bills best season...
  17. Maybe so Dibs...I would prefer a WR or a TE anyway...But we'll see... I pretty much agree...But I would be pretty shocked if they released Stevie...Though that may be more of an emotional response than a logical one...
  18. No way the Bills Draft an OG at #9...They proved last year that it's not their philosophy to take an OG high... There will however be a couple VERY good OT prospects available at #9...And that is definitely a possibility...
  19. Apparently not...
  20. Typical Buffalo Bills football...Making hero's out of nobody's for almost a decade and a half...And not about to stop any time soon...
  21. I hate this team sometimes...
  22. Agreed...Fine him...But sitting him does nothing but assure a lesser player will be in the game...Of course maybe that lesser player does not jump offsides on 4th and 1...But that's another story...
  23. If we had 53 Freddie's we would never lose a game...
  24. If this was really anything new it would be hard to take...Good thing it's nothing new...
  25. Good thing we kept Hogan too...He's clearly a great ST's player...
