The Allen-Diggs Relationship in Decline?
KOKBILLS replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know this will seem ridiculous to most...Because it is getting ridiculous. But this is almost word for word what I told a buddy of mine I thought was going on...Like...almost word for word. I think you have to understand human nature a bit and the kind of competitor Diggs is to cross over to a theory like this. But I had the thought yesterday, and here it is again unsolicited. So I think there may be something to it. To be honest when I saw Josh out with that chick, even though I couldn't care less about it, my very first thought was his comments about never being more focused. If it's true that Diggs thought he was distracted by the drama last year, and I have no idea if that is true...But if it is, just imagine a guy with Diggs fire seeing that... So...Anyway...We'll see I guess. -
Well... Can't say I saw this coming... I swear I don't want to Ed-bash...Especially now... This deal is assuming an uptick from Oliver to be a bargain. And it could end up being a bargain. He's only played at that level in spurts during his 4 years. I understand Ed has done better when he's had help. Of course. But still...He's a top 10 overall Draft pick who just got a 17 AAV deal with his top sack season being 5 in 2019... The expectations really ramp up from Bills fans and media now...I don't care what the top end market is at DT. Ed just got a lot of money. We'll see...Let's hope he makes it a bargain... That would be cool...

D-line coach Eric Washington’s comments on Ed Oliver — hoo boy

Well...It's not an endorsement... -
Watching him in College I can see how McD is going to be tempted to use him a lot beside Milano. And that's not going to come without some risk...But his speed and ability to disrupt if he's kept clean is significant. I don't see anyone else on this roster, including Bernard, who brings that element. So I think he's going to play. And we'll see...

Hopkins released by Arizona (7/16: signed by Titans)
KOKBILLS replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think a 2-3 year deal is ideal...I prefer 2. And I'd give him as much as I could without being stupid. -
No... The Bills will be multiple without DHop...And multiple with him...I'd say he plays around 65-75% of snaps...In that area...He'll drain a bit off Gabe, but not a ton... McKenzie and Crowder were almost exactly 60% combined last year...Kincaid is going to eat up some of that, and probably all of Sweeney/Gilliam's 22.5%...But there are plenty of snaps to go around. What is going to be interesting this year, especially later in the year, is to see how the formations play out if the Bills are a MUCH more effective rushing Offense. And make no mistake they want to do this badly. Because the Bills will be ahead or close in almost every game into the 3rd Quarter. They still have Josh Allen, Diggs, a very nice group of receiving talent overall, and the opportunity to kill teams with a efficient balanced approach in the 2nd half of games will be there...They have the personnel to do that too...So who knows how it looks at the end of the year? Throwing DHop in this mix is pure cheat code for the Bills. He's literally picture perfect made for what they need most in the short/intermediate range. Just get him and worry about the snaps after winning the SB...

Isaiah Simmons might be an answer for the Bills at MLB

I think they're pretty much done in the back 7... I think they also believe they can be better. And not purely because they stay healthier. -

He would seem to be the obvious choice if he's still there... And I think the 5th is about right for him... He's a high-effort guy and I think he can work into the rotation as a Rookie...

For me at least it's not so much the player, it's the plan. Or maybe the lack of knowledge (on my part) on exactly what the plan is... Since the 3rd round last year the Bills have had 9 picks...3 of those picks have been for undersized LB's with VERY similar athletic profiles. Bernard - 6007 - 224 - 4.59 40 - 8.88 RAS Spector - 6011 - 233 - 4.60 40 - 9.13 RAS Williams - 6010 - 228 - 4.49 40 - 8.81 RAS That's 1/3 of our Draft haul since last year (so far), on REAL similar players, and not one of them is a natural replacement for Edmunds. Now, McD certainly seems to have a different plan in mind on how these LB's are going to be used...but 3 in 9 picks just seems like questionable roster building to me. I know this much. the Bills do not have a single WR with Tyler Scott's profile in house...So...I don't know...

Well...It's not like the Bills can ever screen anyway...So...

I'm not sure how to answer this because it all depends on how they felt about Kincaid. Because the Cowboys were going to take him 100%...I don't care what anyone says, the Cowboys were taking him. I'm never big on trading up. But I do really like the idea of Dalton on this team, and the direction the Offense is heading in. Especially after they Drafted Torrence. Things are changing and it's going to be good IMHO...

Right...And for the record, I don't love the Williams pick, and I especially did not like the Bernard pick last year...it's weird. I love having them both on my team because they are great team guys...But I just look at this Defense right now and wonder how in the world they are going to stop anyone from running the ball? I'm not overly impressed with their DT's, and their LB's are either small/light or Klein...It's just a weird mix...

The Battle of a lifetime: Klein, Spector, Dodson, Bernard, Williams

I agree...it is nuts... Hoping someone just steps up and surprises...Or that they are able to find a real nice match-up rotation. -
I really like Joe and I've had some back and forth with him over the years that was very nice...He's a good dude. He lives in Charlotte and I lived there for 20 years and we've had some cool talks...I told him some fun stories about the good old days at The Township Grille... But he's not always right. It's funny because when he and Bruce Nolan do their "look back at the previous year and what I would have done show" every year...IMHO it's not THAT impressive in hindsight. I do far less film study and feel like I can go toe-to-toe...Not on the breaking down film side...Don't get me wrong. But in projecting who will be good in the NFL, and team building...
-
Well...These 3rd Round LB's the past two years are not my favorite players. We'll see I guess...
-
Not saying it means anything... But the Bills have now Drafted the #10 and #30 overall players on the PFF Big Board...

This Bills Offense is about to change in some very interesting ways...
