  1. Agree with your sentiments Process. Roster looks great on paper this year. See a lot more potential on O line. Love drafting Kincaid and signing Harris and Murray at RB. Signing Ford and Floyd on D line are good moves also. Letting Edmunds and Frazier go was smart. Edmunds was certainly not a game changer. And our defense was predictable and passive under Frazier. I think McDermott puts a different spin on how we play on D. Tough schedule in the second half of the year. But I think this will be a very good team that gets better over the course of the season. And Josh Allen is going to dominate. With a decent O line and a big time TE in Kincaid to go with our other weapons, who is really going to stop our offense?
  2. Do you really like having a user name like that? That says a lot right off the bat without anyone really knowing who you are. Just saying. As for your rant about some people being too negative on this message board. I don't think this place is supposed to be a Buffalo Bills cheerleading board. It is a place where people should give their legitimate opinions (good and bad) about the Bills and to discuss NFL football in general. McDermott and Beane have put a very good team together. And Josh Allen is an amazing talent, who gives us a great chance to win every single week we play. And that is awesome. That being said, we looked terrible against Cincinnati last year in the playoffs. And blew a game we should have won two years ago at KC in the playoffs in terrible fashion. That falls on McDermott. And the marginal O line and Defensive play the past couple of years that contributed to our downfall in the playoffs falls on McDermott and Beane in my opinion. That doesn't mean they suck. It means they have not been quite elite enough to get us to the finish line despite having an amazing QB. If you believe otherwise Dopey (lol) that is your prerogative. But don't think others should not have a more critical view of things. If it comes off as intelligent football talk, embrace it. And btw I think this years team, is going to be the best we have had in the McBeane era. How things turn out is anyone's guess. But I for one am sure as hell excited to be a part of it.
  3. Everyone is competing with everyone at CB. I don't think you can even say that Tre White is a lock to be starting, if he is still playing like he did at the end of last season. (hopefully he is close to his old form this year) The best guys should make the final roster and see the field at every position. It should not matter where they are drafted.
  4. Anyone know how Doyle is recovering from the ACL tear he suffered week 3 at Miami in the Sauna bowl? Hopefully he is ready for camp since the injury was early last season. How about if he plays well and Shell plays well? Then Brown could be on the hot seat this summer fighting for a spot on the roster. Love bringing in competition at RT. At worse this will hopefully get rid of Quessenberry. He was awful at times last year. But did have a bad ankle injury.
  5. Completely agree. Arthur Smith has done nothing with the Falcons. Put Mike Vrabel in there as well. Last season was a tire fire for the Titans. And Vrabel can take a lot of responsibility for that.
  6. You talk about him like he is just getting started in the league. He has been around awhile and has been abused plenty. He isn't going to get any faster and twitchier as he ages. If you want to be a Super Bowl contender its tough having guys like Levi Wallace fill out your roster. I hope the same is not true of Spencer Brown.
  7. Linebacker is a very devalued position in today's NFL. Milano was a 5th round pick and has had a great career for us. Lets hope Spector and Williams follow the same trajectory. It will be an exciting battle to see who starts next to Milano this season. It seems that Edmunds was just handed the MLB job from when he was drafted because he was a first round pick. I think he would have developed into a better all around player if he was given competition to be the starter. But Edmunds is gone. Time to move forward.
  8. Do you really listen to what the talking heads say 24/7/365 about the Bills and all the NFL teams for that matter in the offseason? Who cares who is hyped and who isn't. Just be excited when the season comes around. We should be a good team. We have Josh Allen and a lot of other solid parts. (Dalton Kincaid should be in the running for Offensive Rookie of the year.) How good we are will be determined as the season evolves. We have had a solid offseason. Nothing over dramatic. But solid. Hopefully we are a tougher team this year. And the coaching overall is better minus Frazier. But I would not get too jacked up about things on May 3rd. There will be plenty of time for that once September rolls around. Study up on Baylen Spector. He is going to be our guy in the middle this year. Gonna be one of the big surprises of training camp.
  9. It doesn't matter. The difference between 1 and 29 is 1.31 years.
  10. That makes a lot of sense. We have a lot of guys at Guard right now. And if Brown is struggling this summer, they had better put someone else at RT to compete.
  11. Nice to see someone else talking about Baylon Spector. I thought he looked real good last preseason also. Kid comes out of a program (Clemson) that always plays good defense. Did not look overmatched on the field. Dare I say he reminded me some of Zach Thomas. I think he is the darkhouse to be our starting MLB.
  12. The NFL is a tough league to play a lot of years. Some guys can do it even if they are not stars like AJ Klein. And other guys like Yeldon are a blip on the radar. Another guy like Yeldon who had a little better career was Eddie Lacey. That guy could run. But ate himself out of the league. How about Scott Chandler? He had some good years for us. And then just gone. Never to be heard from again. Tough way to make a living if you are not a star.
  13. Dam 16 reps in the bench for an NFL O lineman is not good. My son did 23 reps weighing 235 pounds at his pro day, and he hadn't benched in a while because of a broken finger. Heck when I was younger I did close to that before age and bone spurs in my left shoulder cut out the heavy lifting. Lets hope someone steps up to play on the outside reasonably well. What do you think of Tommy Doyle's chances to be a serviceable O lineman?
  14. The lack of use of Yeldon really burned me up. He had game. Came out of Bama and was a 2nd round draft pick of the Jags in 2015. He had a little burst and had good hands. He wasn't a star, but was an NFL RB. And after one fumble against the Pats, he almost never saw the field again.
  15. Baller can Edwards play RT also? It seems odd that we have drafted a RG with a high pick, and signed two guards in Free Agency, one getting a big contract, and have two decent guards already on the roster in Bates and Boettger. (Ike when healthy is at least fairly competent and tough if not very good) And have not signed anyone to specifically compete at RT. (Do the Bills think that Tommy Doyle if healthy can compete w Spencer Brown for the starting job at RT?)
  16. I think we certainly have gotten bet at Interior Offensive line.
  17. I hope you are not bashing Duke Johnson. Duke could still play. And the Bills buried him on the depth chart behind Moss Singletary and Cook. Just like they did to TJ Yeldon when he could play as well. Murray is solid if not spectacular. And a backfield of Murray Harris and Cook is excellent. Hynes will be the kick and punt returner. And can be an option out of the backfield in special situations.
  18. Great post SC. I completely agree. Get an OT, WR and LB out of the 4 picks left and I am happy. Get good players tonite in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Package our early 5th from Arizona with our 6th to move up some into the back end of the 4th round, and we should be able to find 3 more guys that can contribute right away. Combine that with the Kincaid pick, and its a dam good draft. We don't need extra picks, just to sit on the practice squad until they are poached by other teams.
  19. I hope so Westside. But I would still bring in some solid competition for his position. Make him earn it.
  20. You are Lamar's biggest fan on this board. I think you must be his wannabe agent. What is your cut of his signing bonus?
  21. You maybe right on my thoughts on Defense. But watching this past seasons Super Bowl and looking at what our AFC competitors are doing, I think we need to really target offense. And Beane does not seem to be able to evaluate good defensive players in the draft for whatever reason. Your last sentence maybe very true. I just hope if the team goes in that direction, that Spencer Brown kicks some butt. Hopefully he can at least stay healthy so we can see what kind of an NFL O lineman he truly can be. Thank you Newcam. I appreciate that.
  22. I think you maybe using a bit of hyperbole ProcessTruster. I don't think Chase Young was quite as good as his hype when he was healthy. He was good but not quite a monster. Ohio State has put out some real good DE's unfortunately. (I am Maize and Blue all day everyday.) But I don't put Young on the level of Nick Bosa.
  23. What upside does Brown have? The guy is too tall to play OT. And he played at Northern Iowa. There has been no dominance. At least Ford was a highly regarded prospect when he was coming out. And the kid played at a big time program, and was good in college. For whatever reason it never transferred over to the NFL. The Bills need a very good RT and a stud WR to get their offense approaching Super Bowl caliber. Drafting defensive guys is like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. It is not going to change the trajectory of the team. Its an offensive league. And we have an amazing QB. He needs more help. We do that and we will be bigtime contenders this year. The defense just needs to be decent to good. And it will be with McDermott coaching the D. We should be all in on improving the offense. If that means only drafting 3 or 4 guys, because Beane is moving up the and down throughout the draft, then great. Go OT, WR, IOL and TE. We will be set. You can find defensive guys as undrafted free agents or veterans who are cut by other teams in the next couple months to fill in the gaps. People need to understand that guys like Tremaine Edmunds do not move the meter in how a team will do because they are not difference makers. In today's game not many defensive players are. And whomever replaces him will be just fine in what they need to do as far as the big picture of the makeup of the team will be. If Beane and McDermott don't understand this, then they should start looking for another line of work. Because the AFC will be stacked. And we need to keep up with the current arms race.
  24. You talk about Clowney like he has been a big time difference maker over his career. I would not put him in that category. Like I said earlier, he hasn't sucked. But he has been just a guy for the most part. But not every player is going to be a star regardless of where they get drafted. I have watched a lot of football over the years. And he really hasn't moved the meter for me. But we can agree to disagree on our assessment of Clowney.
  25. Detroit was solid last season and is a definitely an up and coming team. They are fun to watch and play with a lot of juice under Dan Campbell. That would be an entertaining opening Thursday nite game. As for Chicago, they are as painful as it gets to watch. The Chicago-Green Bay opener a few years ago, (maybe it was a Sunday niter was as boring a game as humanly possible. 10-7 I believe.) KC would win against the Bears 42-7. The NFL aint having that on any day of the week.
