  1. I like the idea, but I need a little more than the 32nd pick to drop 14 places in the draft to #17. Perhaps a 1st round next year or a 2nd & 4th rounder this year
  2. I wish the Bills would make a splash and get someone. Edwards showed nothing this year. His defense only looked acceptable against the little sisters of the poor offenses. Granted the talent level was low, but you should be able to "coach 'em up" enought to stop something. Good teams ran when they wanted and passed when they wanted against us -- they just didn't need to pass much.
  3. I following my philosophy of having two favorite teams -- the Bills and whoever is playing the Jersey Jets, I must root for the steelers, even if it leaves a nasty taste in my mouth. Almost as bad a taste as actualy wishing the Pats won this past weekend.
  4. God help the Bills if Newton is our 1st round pick with the 3rd choice. It is my belief that this move will finally put a dagger into many Bills fans hearts and you'll be looking at many more blackouts next year as fans give up in disgust. On the positive side if the Bills feel they can best improve their team by taking Newton, then they may just be the front runners for the #1 overall draft choice in next years draft.
  5. Although it's been proved that Dick was not a good HC, he is a nice guys -- wish him well in getting a new position and then hope the Bills whoop up on his defense.
  6. Most Bills fans wil remember that quote from our last great coach, Marv Levy. I have a feeling with the deep seeded rivalries being played out in the AFC division playoff games (Pitt - Balt & NY - NE) we are going to see some of both dumb & dirty. All the teams like to hit and they also like to tell you that they hit you. Should get a great weekend of hard hitting football. Bills fans did not see alot of great defense this year watching the Bills -- we should see some this weekend. Who are you rooting for? Me -- it's Baltimore & New England (I hate saying that, but I can't say JETS)
  7. I like your thinking, although I am not sure he has anything left without taking some PEDs. I hope he does.
  8. That year was a bad year for highly drafted big recievers. I think it was a Plaxico Burress knee jerk reaction to getting a large wideout. James Hardy, Malcom Kelly, & Devan Thomas all drafted in the 2nd round, all cut from the teams who drafted them. The teams looked at the size and ignored some other key items such as work ethic, ability to read coverage, ...
  9. Drafting Green would really be a slap in the face to all the long suffering Bills fans. This would be just like the Spiller draft choice (1st pick in an area of low need), and that hasn't worked out to well, has it. Without drafting an impact defensive player, then how in heck is the Bills defense going to get better. The talent level on the Bills defense should be rated a "D" at best, maybe an "F". I don't care if Green is a better version of jerry Rice and Larry Fitzgerald all in one, he can't catch a pass while the other teams offense is running for 250 yeard against the Bills defense.
  10. I think your right in that it won't affect the Pats, but I'm not so sure about a butt kicking occurring. Unfortunately everything has seemed to fall just right for the stupid J-E-T-S this year. They have pulled a number of games out of the butt hole at the end of the 4th Q. I fear they may do that again. I think the defense is still tough and Tom "Justin Bieber hair" Brady will have a tough go of it. The winning team won't score more than 20 points.
  11. God knows I have no love at all for the Jets and that carries over to Rex Ryan, but I thought he did an interesting thing yesterday. He came out with the "It's me against Billy B and it's personal" speech to the media. While at first glace it looks real stupid and Belichick responded appropriately, I think he's being smart. He is pulling that media attention to himself and not to his team. He's letting the team get ready without the press going after them. He takes the heat instead of his players. I am willing to bet he also told his team to shut-up this week and let me take the heat. That remains to be seen. He may not be quite a dumb as I've given him credit for. Just a thought.
  12. It's an interesting question. In thinking about it you would need to factor in when kelsay had his hand down as a pass rusher, thus looking like a 4 man line, but in actuality the other players were playing 3 down line positions. Kelsay had to put his hand down and rush as he was really lost playing a stand-up OLB, even when he rushed from that position.
  13. He didn't make me a believer. IMO -- stay away
  14. IMO -- Newton did nothing yesterday to justify a 1st round pick. I am hesitant to go with a spread offense QB as I don't think they are close to being prepared to start for an NFL style offense. Newton should come out into the draft this year because he will be selected in the 1st round by someone and next year he misses 5 games against the sisters of the poor so his stats next year will stink. He also will go against Luck in the draft next year so at best he'd be the #2 qb -- probably lower than that. As far as fairly is concerned -- I think he's a 4-3 DT and a good one. Not sure what the bills will play next year, but if it's not a 4-3 we should pass.
  15. Even the blind squirrel find the nut sometimes -- were due to find one this year. It's possible that by accident the Bills draft a good player. I'm also a litle tongue in cheek here.
  16. Thought the helmets were Ok, but the rest of the uniform was ugly
  17. I understand your anger and don't need to hear about the Whitner draft anymore. there are many, many other examples of much poorer 1st round selections the Bills have made than Whitner. In fact, Whitner may have been one of their better 1st round selections in the last 10 years. Let's look at some --> Spiller -- to early to tell, but nothing so far Maybin -- maybe the worst of all and that's saying something Mckelvin -- Whitner has been a better defensive player than him Whitner -- Maybe not so bad in comparison McCargo -- Close to the Maybin level Lynch -- May be a good player but gave Buffalo nothing Evans -- Maybe the best choice over the last 10 years Losman -- do I need to say anything here Magahee -- in the Lynch category M Williams -- he is also at the Maybin level Clements -- was good in Buffalo -- let him go You look at this and wonder why Bills fans are frustrated -- it's obvious. While Whitner draft is not something to rant about, the Bills 1st round drafts are.
  18. I am saddened to hear of the passing of Cookie Gilchrist. I enjoyed wating him on the Bills in the 60's -- he was a real beast. I remember a sign up in Shea stadium at an old Titans game -- "Wahoo crumble Cookie" -- it never happened -- not one got the best of Cookie. RIP
  19. There is nothing I've seen that makes me believe that Kolb will improve the Bills QB situation. In fact, behind the Bills line, I expect he will perform worse that Fitz. We've taken the hot looking prospect before - fdoes Rob Johnson ring a bell -- and should not fall into that trap again. Kolb is not a proven product -- stay clear.
  20. Looks like Reed won't make it to the Hall this year. He will finish behind Cris Carter and likely Shannon Sharpe. Even though Sharpe is listed at TE, I douby more then 2 pass catchers make the Hall. Too bad, I think Adree will follow the route of Art Monk.
  21. Another example -- we draft someone who plays the same position as our strength and then have to9 trade from our strength -- see Lynch, greer, ...
  22. It's sad when what fans are looking at is the 2012 draft when 2011 has not yet occur. I am hoping we are no where near the top of the draft. Of course I am an optimist.
  23. I love Kyle Williams and his all out effort, but he is not, in my opinion, a great NT in a 3-4 -- he is a great DT in a 4-3. A NT is suupposed to be a space eater that takes up 2 or even better 3 blockers and allows others on the team to make the plays. Williams slips blocks very well and when he slips them in the right direction he makes a play, but when he slips them in the wrong direction he doesn't make the play and neither can his teammates because the blockers a free to get them. This is one of the reasons we were 32nd in run defense.
