  1. I see Nelson as a 3rd down receiver in a 4 receiver set with Roscoe being the slot guy.
  2. Interesting thought, but I don't like it and thew TV networks won't wither. In order to get the game in prime time as they desire the game would need to kick-off at 11:00pm or midnight in England. Since many normal, middle class fans can't afford to go to a Super Bowl I'm not worried about who would attend. Overall, this idea smells bad.
  3. Maybe Phoenix -- new stadium there and great weather.
  4. Given the the combine is coming this week, what is the biggest question answered / statistic found / piece of information discovered that you hope to get at this week's combine. There will be a ton of information deseminated and the question will be does any of it mean anything to you. For me, I want to know Von Miller's physical numbers (speed, strength, size, ...) as well as his Wunderlich score. Doe she have the speed & strength to be dominate and can he learn and play smart. What do you want to know?
  5. What I see here is the next WWE superstar, not a pro football player. I see him and Brock lesner squaring off in a pose off once lesner comes back to WWE.
  6. I have no alliegience to any Alabama school so my response is not school devotion tainted. The person who did this deserves the most severe punsihment allowed by the law and if that isn't enough that they should be tied to this tree and let anyone who wants to give them a whack with a paddle. This was a terrible act for which there is NO excuse and something has been killed that took 130 years to make.
  7. I'm not sure he even has what it takes to start anywhere in this league much less a premier player. To get better at anything a person has to have the drive to improve. I have not seen nor heard that he has that.
  8. I am not in favor of drafting Newton -- too big a risk for a team with so many defensive holes to fill. Newton has yet to really prove anything consistantly since he is a one year wonder in an offense that is not pro-style. Newton will give us nothing in the 2011 season so this draft almost assures a top 5 pick in next years draft.
  9. Funny you brought this up as I was thinking this morning when i heard of the other players who were franchised, who out of any Bill i would put a franchise tag on. I really couldn't come up with a clear cut winner. Of the choices here are my thoughts: 1. Kyle Williams -- probably the bills best player, but is he a top 5 D-Lineman in the league -- not sure. He's the closest to getting the tag. 2. Stevie Johnson -- Not a Top 5 wideout. He was very good for Buffalo, but might not even start on some teams (i.e. Jets, Packers, ...) 3. Fred Jackson -- Can't franchise a guy you did not even want to start for 1/2 of last year. Best we have, but not franchise worthy. 4. Paul Poz -- No real reason to address him. Made alot of tackles, but is not top tier. 5. Ryan Fitzpatrick -- Thur him in here for the heck of it -- really not an option to franchise. Some folks don't want him to even start. Any other ideas?
  10. On the Mike & Mike show this morning they discussed the Bills as part of their 2 a days post season. Firstoff you need to discount anyting Greenberg says as he's a damn Jets fan. Golic thought they were improving based upon how hard they played last year. they discussed QBs in the draft and I took the consensus to be that given the gaping wholes in the defense QB was not a need. they discussed the "luxury pick of Spiller" as not a smart choice. I believe they said Mcshay has us taking the Tx A&M LB Miller and Kiper has us taking the D-lineman Marcus D (can't remember the last name - sorry). Overall, basically a wasted discussion (like this post ), but it filled the airwaves and had the Bills helmet proudly displayed on the desk in front of them
  11. Brats in Beer in honor of the Packers plus wings because what's a Bill's fan to do without wings. Let's not forget-- keg of Yeungling Now I'm set
  12. You have lots of denial -- isn't that a river in Egypt. Maybin has been in two different systems (a 4-3 and a 3-4) and has showed absolutely no ability to make a play in either. He has been so poor and his practice results so pitiful that he was not even able to be active for many games this year. Maybe if he goes against Kenmore West he could be successaful, but with the big boys he's outmatched, both in talent and desire. Looking good in a uniform on or being able to run fast does not make you a football player. Where is the football playing raw talent? His was a completely wasted draft pick and someone should be fired for making it. A team in need of as much talent as Buffalo is can not afford to make such picks. That's why we continue to be at the bottom.
  13. Neither -- would have rather had either a defensive player or tackle.
  14. Chill --- Someone didn't have their morning coffee or Red Bull.
  15. If anyone has looked at the broadcasts from Dallas for Super Bowl week should see the vision of what's going to come when it's played in NJ. They don't get this weather in Dallas / Ft Worth but one in a blue moon so it could not be anticipated. You should expect this weather in NJ at the Meadowlands. What if the game was in NJ this year -- 18 inches of snow the week before the game will make a mess of Super Bowl week.
  16. Do you really want to go thru a situation like last camp with the RBs. Green would be a waste for a team in soooo much need of Defense. Look at the two teams in the Super Bowl -- no highly drafted receivers, they atill get production out of those positions. Both team have invested dearly in defense -- that is the way to win.
  17. I could not bring myself to watch it for very long -- I saw about 8 plays and that was more than enough. If no one watches it, will the networks still televise it? I am guessing it is included in the purchase package so maybe it won't be impacted. I say make it a two hand touch or flag foolball game (It basically is that now anyway) so that the fans actually get to see the players faces. It will never be good football.
  18. Thanks for sharing. These bring back memories. My father had season tickets at the Rockpile for a few years and i got to go to a few games there with him. Very good memories. I think I spotted Kemp, Lamonica, Gogolak, and dubenion in the second of yoour pictures.
  19. Peter King named Kyle Williams to his All Pro team as the nose tackle. I'm pleasently surprised. Peter Kimg
  20. Having Newton on the Bills would be a nightmare, not a dream. Of course if we could get him in the 3rd round, which is as high as I'd go for an inexperienced college QB with issues, I might live with that.
  21. I saw this headline and thought that Bill Clinton had gone back into office
  22. You bring up good points. I won't disagree. The only thing I really want is to be able to stop the run -- or at least slow it down. However we improve our run defense with whatever players is fine by me. I don't think we have the players currently anywhere on the roster that can fulfill that wish.
  23. Our need does matter if we want to go with a 3-4 or a 4-3. In either case, a big stud of a DT is needed. I personally think that Williams would be better served as a D-end than a 3-4 nose tackle. A NT in a 3-4 needs to occupy 2 blockers in order to give the LB a chance on making a play. Williams is superb at slipping blockers and penetrating to make plays. I'd like to de him a D-End. he would be an upgrade from Stroud. After DT, my take is best LB available and I don't care inside or outside, bur prefer outside. After that -- RT. No need to take a TE as I don't think our offense is going to use one other than to block.
  24. I am not sure if we always practice inside the bubble or if there is also an outside practice facility. If we are inside all the time it may be that theplayers don't want to be practicing on fake grass all the time. On the other side, the Redskins have no indoor practice facility and have to go to an airport hanger when the weather is too bad to practice outside. That is worse and the Redskins have been able to lure high priced (although not high talent) free agents. Overall I do not think our practice facility has anything to do with luring Free Agents.
