This doesn't even make sense. One uses the line, "too many other needs to make this pick" when a team makes a pick at a position that is already strong. The Bills used the pick on a position of need and selected a guy most didn't see still being on the board at 19. Who knows if he pans out, but right now there's not much to criticize.

Myles Jack Could Slide Down in the Draft
MDH replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I questioned Jack's decision to attend the draft given the injury question. I wonder if he's questioning the decision now too? -
Lawson or Jack is guaranteed to be there if the Bills want one of 'em

Forget that, someone give the kid some Visine. He looks like he toked up in the men's room.

Who cares about the weed but taking a pic of you smoking and then allowing others access to the pic/twitter account to post it is a dumb test - and he failed. I wouldn't roll the dice on anybody who is that bad at making decisions.

On a grill using lump wood charcoal with a good dry rub. Better than anything you'll get most places as long as you dont overcook 'em. Id eat them cold if there are leftovers. Nothing worse than overcooked meat if any kind.

No. Now he will really, really, really try to play his best!

New Metric proves Bills one of worst teams at Drafting
MDH replied to K D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
NS, the oldest metric in the book - wins and losss- tells us they havent drafted well. -
Well, it looks like it wasn't about money but about promoting after all. It's hilarious how he has the balls to say that he's paid to fight, not to promote. WTF? If anybody was ever paid to promote, it's Connor. All the buzz about him has little to do with what happens inside the cage. It's all about his mouth. And now he's saying he doesn't want to do his promoting obligations when that's what made him into a star?

The important part of the question is being overlooked. The question wasn't, "what is more important, an OT or a DE?" The question was if you are set at QB do you go OL or DL if you have needs at both. That's an easy one. If you have quality QB then you protect that investment. He's the most important player on the field and you do everything you can to keep him upright and playing to his full potential.

I dont blame any fighter wanting to be paid more than the pittance the UFC doles out each event. McGreggor was just at an event in Ireland where a fighter died. That had to be eye opening. If you are literally risking your life stepping in the cage you'd better get paid your fair worth. He sells events all by himself and while hes paid handsomely in comparison to the crap other fighters get, its still not in line with how much the UFC pockets from ppv and gate sales at events he headlines. He gets their brand on Sportscenter and talked about on radio. Those are future dollars he's earning them. I'll never look down on someone for challenging how much their employer says they are worth, even if I dont like the guy. Im guessing they settle this beef with a pay hike but not the reported 10M Connor was wanting. Hell, I wouldnt put it past the UFC and McGreggor if this was all just a show to get their brand talked about. Free pub and when the fight is put back on it'll they'll newsjack sportsmedia again.

Math teachers are smart enough to not get caught?

The beginning of the schedule isn't bad at all. They have Arizona and NE surrounded by 4 bad to mediocre teams. Arizona is at home and NE might not have Brady. The tough part is the middle with NE, Seattle and Cinci in consecutive weeks. Add in the bye and that might be winless month. The Bills really need to be heading into that second NE game with a 5-3 or 4-3 record if they hold any hopes of making the playoffs.

Former Saints DE Will Smith Shot and Killed in New Orleans
MDH replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think chasing down a car that hit you, crashing into it, getting out with a gun and getting into an altercation that ends with someone dead is a very solid defense. It might make more sense, but it doesn't make the guy less guilty in my eyes. -
WGR on EJ - will he stay on the roster as backup QB?
MDH replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You want to trade a pick for a backup QB when you have a perfectly suitable backup on the roster? I know fans have axes to grind and that EJ didn't live up to expectations, but the guy is a better than average backup. There is no need to trade for a guy, it's throwing draft picks down the drain and the Bills can not afford to do that. That's a luxury trade that only a few teams would be smart to make. -

WGR on EJ - will he stay on the roster as backup QB?
MDH replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You've got this backwards. It makes little sense to jettison him. Let him play out his contract and wave goodbye after this year. There is absolutely no reason to get rid of him. He's a good teammate, he knows the system, he has 3 years in the league and he can run the offense TT runs without tweaking it much. Add to it that his money is guaranteed and there's pretty much nobody who is better than him available and I'm wondering wtf people are talking about. It's like Bills' fans haven't watched other backup QBs and think there is some miracle guy out there that nobody has noticed. -

MDH replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not only will he be with the team I think he'll start a game or two this year. Any QB they draft won't be more NFL ready in his rookie year than EJ is right now and the team will go with the vet if/when TT gets hurt. I'd love TT to suit up for all 16 games but I just don't see it given how he plays. -
They have an interim title on the line at the same event that the champ is fighting in a division that's not his own. A champ that has been healthy and not defended his belt once. WTF? I remember McGregor and Dana claiming that Connor fighting in other weight classes wouldn't be an issue because he would be very active yet without a single defense here we are with an interim title. And now they have Edgar fighting Aldo, which is a terrible matchup for Edgar. They've pretty much thrown everything they can in front of Edgar in an attempt to try and have Connor avoid him. I've never seen anybody have to clean out the division to get to the champ before. One of the things that got me into MMA was that, unlike boxing, they had the top guys fighting each other all the time and fighters weren't ducking fights or giving up titles because they didn't want to defend against certain fighters. Yet here we are.

Uhh, errr, ummm....huh?

Not sure why people like to rip Fitz. He's a mediocre QB playing in a league where the overall QBing is pretty poor. That alone gives him value, flaws and all.

NFL Execs say Bills should get moving on new stadium
MDH replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Do this execs really think the people of western New York have the money to fill the stadium if the tickets are priced substantially higher? -
It makes the kicking game much more important. Anything that does that makes the game worse.

Yeah, I just finished it last night. While the first 6 or 7 episodes were good I thought they weren't up to par with what the series did last season. The second half of the season, however, was really good. It might have been better than season 1 (though it could just be it's newness.) They managed a slew of characters successfully and kept it interesting with some deft twists. They breadcrumbed it nicely all the way to the finale. I'd say my only real complaint about the season is they didn't develop Elektra as fully as they needed to given her importance to the storyline.

No progress toward TT extension per Carucci; agent unhappy
MDH replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The agent is just doing what he thinks is in his client's best interest. Not sure why it irks people. The problem is he has no leg to stand on. He may want a big FA type deal like the one Osweiller got but the problem is that your client isn't a FA. If TT plays the way his agent suggest he will then TT's going to get paid very well. He's a FA after next year and he'll either get a huge deal or be tagged. The only advantage of signing him now is if he can be had for a significant discount. If not, then let him prove his worth on the field this season and go out and earn that big contract.
