Most of it is right on but Mort won't even concede that TD's coaching staffs were a problem. If TD made the right moves with personnel AND the right moves with the coaches why the hell did the Bills lose so many games under Donahoe? Edit: I also like how he lists Parrish as a positive. Sure the guy is a pretty good slot WR but a team that was rebuilding needed something more than that with their first pick of the draft. That was a pure luxury pick that the Bills couldn't afford to make.

I'd search the free agent pool for someone better than both.

#1 fantasy topic each week, "Who Blew It!" Who
MDH replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in Fantasy Football
Pennington killed me. I drafted Delhomme as my starter but benched him after he sucked for 3 weeks in a row. I inserted Pennington only to lose my game by 2 points (Delhomme outscored Pennington by 9). I could also blame it on Donald Driver. Down by 10 points going into Monday night Driver dropped an easy TD in the first quarter which ended up costing me the win. I swear I have the best 1-3 team in the history of Fantasy Football: QBs: Delhomme, Pennington, Carr (I originally drafted Plummer but have since dumped him) RBs: Rudi Johnson, R. Brown, Willie Parker, Chester Taylor (we use 2 flex spots for all 4 get to play at the same time) WRs: D. Driver, R. Wayne, L. Coles, D. Mason TE: A. Gates, B. Watson -
You forgot to mention his biggest mistake, which is thinking that the Bills LBs are equal to the Bears. The Bears have the best starting LBs in the league and while our LBs are a solid bunch they don't even compare to the Bears at this point particularly with Spikes out. Even if Spikes came back 100% from his achilles I'd take the Bears LBs over ours (though it would be very close).

Most tickets have a disclaimer on the back saying that they can ask you to leave at any time for any reason(s), but I could have sworn that they were obligated to refund the ticket price.

At least the lies they're telling are actually pro-Bills lies now. I'm not used to that.

Actually that doesn't mean that Villarrial didn't finish those games, just that he came out of games 6 times. For all you know he could have gone back in the next series or the next play. Villarrial wasn't very effective last year because he played hurt quite a bit but I don't recall seeing him not finish games that often.

I take it the Bills are returning a punt and a kickoff for TDs in that scenerio? Or perhaps a few INTs returned for TDs? Of course it's possible that the Bills O could put up 24 points against a D that has allowed 29 in four games but I just don't see it. Of course, that's why they play the games.

The problem is that the Bills don't really match up that well against the Bears. If the Bills had a pure power running game I'd like our chances more, but we have quick, mobile OLmen, not maulers. It's a matchup of speed vs. speed and I like the Bears DL a hell of a lot more than the Bills OL in this matchup. The best way to beat a fast D is to wear them down and start picking up big chunks of yardage with the running game in the second half once the smallish DL tires out. I just don't think the Bills have an OL capable of doing that. That's not to say the Bills shouldn't continue to run the ball over and over again, they should. I'd like to see them take the same approach they did with the Vikes cover 2. Stay with the run, even if it's not working and hit the short passes underneath the zone and let the WRs get some yards after the catch. They need to play it conservatively and not turn the ball over. If that means throwing to a check down WR on 3rd and long then so be it. Win a battle of field position with our ST and hope to win a low scoring game.

Agreed, this is one of the better running efforts McGahee has had. Sure the stats don't look pretty but he got just about every yard that was to be had against that D. Trying to make a big play would have just ended with more 3rd and long situations.
-
My favorite thread title: "How short does 3rd down have to be for Markley to run Ronnie?" If they think Mularkey is bad they should have had a taste of Gilbride.

Yeah, you generally have to spend money to attract FAs. Sure the Pats might not have wanted to re-sign some of their older vets but are you really telling me that there was nobody out there in FA that could have helped the Pats? Come on, you can't really apologize for every move the Pats make (or don't make).
-
Our Rushing O is 9th in the league and ranks 15th in YPA. While it's not a weakness I wouldn't exactly call it spectacular either.
-
So basically you're happy that the Pats aren't spending that cash and trying to put the best possible product on the field? Are you getting a percentage or something?
-
I don't think this is the question at all. The question(s) should be, "who wins the matchups of the lines." Our DL against their OL. I say the Bears OL. Our OL against their DL. I say their DL. If the Bills can't control the trenches it doesn't matter who the "playmakers" are. The Bills need to play turnover free ball and somehow shut down the run and force Grossman to beat them. If they can manage those two things they have a chance to win. If they don't it'll be a blowout.
-
No doubt, but I'd grade their reaction to the guy as worse than the offense. Simply ask him, directly, to stop doing it. Pretty easy. Somehow people have this idea that if someone does something inconsiderate its okay to do something worse back to them. I just found it odd that this was the example he wished to share.
-
How exactly is he the A-hole in this situation?
-
No it wouldn't have. Watch the replay, the ball gets tipped at the LoS.
-
Agreed. He handled that drive as if he were Holcomb. Hopefully he learned from it and gets better.

Revisiting the question of the return game
MDH replied to daquixers_is_back's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It wasn't the question that was dumb it was asking it after week 1. -
I've seeen every Chicago game............
MDH replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bears have gone 8 home games without allowing an opponent to score more than 10 points. I like the direction the Bills O is headed but I don't see them being the team to break this trend. -
Unfortunately I don't think the NFL will agree to start the game with the score Bills 10 Bears 0.
-
At least it's not like college ball where they put advertisments on the first giant arrow.

I'm glad the Bear are killing Seattle ! Classic

What exactly do you think looking "good" is? -
Their D has allowed a maximum of 10 points in any if their last 7 home games.
