  1. For the most part I liked the playcalling today. The 3rd and goal running play from the 5 yard line was a bit much though. There are ways to protect your young QB while still giving him a chance to make a play. A sack there isn't going to kill you only a turnover will. Give the guy a chance to make a play.
  2. Yeah, unfortunately I'm paying attention as my opponent this week in my FF money league started him. Twenty-one fantasy points later and I've decided I don't much care for that Colston kid.
  3. The more complex you make things the more likely it is that someone along the way will screw something up. Mularkey has yet to learn this lesson.
  4. NS, did you see the play they tried to run for the tying 2-point conversion? Classic Mularkey.
  5. Not sure ewhy you're slapping your head at that. 3rd and 1 at the 20. You run the ball and try to pick up the first down. If you don't get it you kick the FG with very little time left. If you get it you line up and spike the ball (saving your last TO). In a defensive battle this would have been a better way of managing the game.
  6. Yeah, I saw that after I made the post.
  7. I'm not sure I understand this. The nearest Viking was 2.5 yards away when the Bills caught the ball. How was that not giving them the opportunity to catch it?
  8. Same...but I hope he has his worst game as a pro today.
  9. That was my first thought. I'm guessing he got killed by the local press.
  10. My grandmother used to live in Hemet when I was a kid. All I remember about it was that it seemed like miles and miles of trailer parks with lots of old people living in them. Granted, these weren't your trashy type trailer parks, they were actually pretty nice.
  11. I'd just like to see him sit out of practice totally until its healed. Coming in every week and practicing only to aggravate it and not play is pointless and only prolongs the recovery time.
  12. What if I prefer the Patriot cheerleader?
  13. It would seem that you'd look at the specifics of his game and then decide he won't be good instead of deciding he wont' be good and then looking for reasons. But hey, that's just me.
  14. You could literally use that defense against ANY pick they made at the 8 spot. Let's say that drafted Kyle Williams there, you could still say, "PROVE they could have gotten him in a later round!" Of course the person couldn't prove it, it's impossible to prove. The Bills did what they thought was right and hopefully it works out. That being said just about all of the info that the media and their "inside sources" have gotten from other teams say that he would have been available later. The general pre-draft grades say he would have been available later. There are no guarantees in life, perhaps he wouldn't have been available but sometimes you have to take all the info you have and roll the dice instead of locking onto the one player you absolutely have to have. I think Whitner will be a very good player for the Bills, he seems to be a bright young guy with loads of talent that hasn't had many issues transitioning to the NFL. I do, however, believe, based on what I've read/heard that Whitner could have been had in the mid first round. It's not fact, it's just what I believe
  15. I admire your patience Kelly. I can't believe you continue to ram your head into the brick wall that is Holcombs Arm's stance on JP. Perhaps one day you'll knock a brick out.
  16. Thankfully we have the "TO TRIED TO COMMIT SUICIDE!!!" story to carry us through the weekend. Oh, and there are a few good games. NE at Cinci and NO at Carolina should both be worth watching. I agree though, it is slim pickings.
  17. It's not quite the same thing. The QB position feels way more preasure than any other individual position on the field. If the Bills had Peyton Manning I'd say the D needs to step up their play to take the preasure off Peyton. The moment a QB feels like he has to do it all is when mistakes happen.
  18. Wilfield is probably my favorite Bill since the early 90s. I just love watching the guy play. He lays it all out there on every single play and was vastly underated as a cover corner because of his size. I thought he was a better corner than Nate when he left and I think he still is.
  19. As opposed to your definition of a great back which was, "he's leading the league in rushing in week 3!" I'll take my definition over yours any day. And btw, none of the backs on that list are great with the exception of Thurman and Martin (Emmitt as you said actually met the criteria). Perhaps this is the issue, you want to label every good back you see as "GREAT!"
  20. Do you even believe half of the sh-- you shovel? I’m guessing you don’t.
  21. Nobody remembers who lead the league in rushing after week 3. Call him a great back after he actually puts up 1500+ yards for two years in a row and averages more than 4 ypc. I think he's capable of doing it, but thinking he can do it and him actually going out and producing are two different things.
  22. That Dolphins ran on the Bills D very well. The only thing preventing them from topping 100 yards was that Mularkey is their offensive coordinator. The Jets are the most pathetic running team in the league so I wouldn't hang my hat on that either. The good news is that the Vikings haven't shown that they can really muscle the ball down anybody's throat. They try but haven't really been successful to date. The same thing goes for Detroit. So in the next 3 games the Bills only play one team whose strength is running the ball. Hopefully they can take 2 of these 3 games and be right back in the thick of it.
  23. Rob Johnson was loose with the football? Umm, okay. The guy rarely took chances with the football. Johnson's only problems were his lack of pocket awareness and his inability to make quick decisions when necessary (granted, these two things are HUGE issues). JP has shown pretty good awareness (with the occasional brain fart) and has gotten steadily better at getting rid of the ball when he needs to. Had Rob made the strides that JP has already made he would have been a stellar QB instead of a dud. JP has things he needs to improve upon; Accuracy (which is improving), he needs to learn when to tuck the ball and just take a sack (which Johnson had NO problems doing), he needs to get more comfortable so he is truly in command on the field and he needs to learn how to put a little more touch on some balls (like screens). They’re both mobile, strong armed QBs from California but other than that their strengths and weaknesses are quite different. I don’t know if JP will ever be a top flight QB but I do know that he doesn’t have the significant negatives that plagued RJ.
  24. I'm thinking that YAC has to be in the negative before he'll give him some credit.
  25. This is where Holcomb's Arm totally reverses field and takes the position that it is Losman's fault that the Bills rank so low in YAC.
