  1. Probably the most sensible post I've seen you make about Losman. One point: I'm not sure a 57% completion percentage is a big issue when the QB is making many throws downfield. JP's YPA was 8.6, which is quite good. QBs that throw the ball downfield aren't going to complete 60% of their passes.
  2. This is really my point. It's not a "mistake" if he fumbles the ball because he's in the middle of a throw and he's blindsided from the backside because his RB doesn't pick up the blitz. There's nothing he could do about it. It WAS a mistake with the first fumble (as was the INT) as it was a decision making issue that caused each of these turnovers. Perhaps it’s just me but I don’t consider something a “mistake” when a player has no control over what happened.
  3. They showed one on TV where his foot was clearly out at the 3.
  4. Well, on the first one JP saw the blitz, moved to his right to avoid it and then cocked his arm back when he knew there was a guy behind him. That's why I'd blame that one on JP. It's not really an issue of, "he can have one, but not two" it's a decision making issue on the first one while the second one can't be placed on his shoulder's at all Imo. The angriest I was all game was on that first fumble. It was just a horrible decision and one that a QB, no matter how young, should make.
  5. If he wasn't in the middle of throwing the ball I'd agree with you. Being blindsided on the second one, in the middle of throwing the ball, is going to result in a fumble everytime. There's simply no avoiding it. On the first one he should have never cocked the ball back to throw it in the first place.
  6. He needs to do better than picking up the blitz 50% of the time. JP would be better off with Willis going out into a pattern everytime than with him remaining in the backfield to pick up the blitz. At least he wouldn't be expecting someone to make the block and would know he has to get rid of the ball.
  7. Yes, it's either all JP's fault or it's all the coaching, D, McGahee. It couldn't possibly be a team loss. We must have a scape goat!
  8. That's not Clements mistake, it's the way the D was called.
  9. Yeah, I want my QB to put touch on the ball on an OUT PATTERN. The throw on an out pattern has to be hard otherwise it ends up going for 6 the other way.
  10. I just don't get why the D was giving the middle of the field to the Jet's O. I'd make Pennington beat me to the outside and deep. I'd also take some chances and jump some routes. Those softballs Pennington throws had INT written all over them if someone jumps a route.
  11. One stat trumps all others: turnovers.
  12. I don't think he's supposed to be accounted for. The idea of the misdirection is to get the D moving that way. If a Bills moves out to pick him up it defeats the purpose of the play.
  13. Clearly Jauron doesn't know what he's talking about. It was obviously JP's fault for not hearing the crowd noise and knowing he was about to get hit by an untouched defender.
  14. Holds onto the ball too long? The guy ran untouched into the backfield and hit JP. Are you saying that JP shouldn't trust his RB to pick up the blitz and should simply tuck the ball in and run everytime the D sends a blitz?
  15. You need to watch more of what's going on instead of just following the ball.
  16. A 54 yard FG attempt with a gusting wind isn't what I would have liked. They should have either lined up and went for it with the O or punted it.
  17. Did you really expect the Bills to drive 60 yards with 1TO and 1 minute left on the clock (in a downpour to boot)? He didn't look good there but it didn't cost the Bills anything as the game was over.
  18. Not on that play. His arm was cocked back to throw deep, ANY QB who gets hit there fumbles the ball. All he needed was McGahee to be a speed bump and he would have gotten the ball away. Once again WM whiffs completely on a blitz pickup.
  19. If he didn't see the blitz I agree, those things happen. I'll have to look at it again but my first impression was that he saw it (hell, I saw it PRE-SNAP and was yelling at the TV, "watch the blitz!")
  20. Why the hell is it so black and white with people. Is it possible, just POSSIBLE, that he made some really bad plays and some really good ones? Yeah, those 2-3 horrible plays hurt the Bills but they don't mean that the rest of the game he had wasn't solid. Imagine that, a young QB is inconsistent.
  21. There's more to being a RB than simply running with the ball. Willis cost the Bills 7 points and was to blame on the biggest play of the game. I'm not sure his fine running performance counters all the bad that happened on that play.
  22. The worst mistake he made was the first fumble. It was just inexcusable. He saw the blitz and moved to his right to avoid it...he either needed to throw the ball away instead of running or he needed to tuck the ball away and take off running. The slow slide to the left with his arm cocked back was just a horrible decision.
  23. I don't see regression at all. If you think you're going to have a QB that doens't have these types of days you're crazy. This is just another step in the process. He did some great things today but, unfortunately, he countered those with two boneheaded plays that cost the team bigtime (I don't blame the sack/fumble/TD that happend on him, McGahee didn't even touch the blitzer).
  24. Yeah, all they need in an onside kick, 50 yards of offense and a two point conversion. Easy!
