I just watched it several times on tivo. If you go to 8:20 left in the 4th quarter and slow it down you can see Clements clearly use both hands to shove the guy down. It's not even a questionable call.
I wouldn't mind seeing A Train as the short yardage back. There are some players that just aren't good at putting their head down and moving the pile. Willis obviously doesn't want to be this type of player so let someone else handle the chore.
I love McNair and think he's the most underrated player in the league the past 10 years. That being said I'm skeptical that he can stay on the field for the entire season. If he can they're a team that could surprise some people.
It looked like JP looked deep a few times in the first half but decided to check down and dump it off. In the second half there was no chance at throwing deep with the protection the OL was providing.
It's not a double standard. There are mistakes that are acceptable from a QB who has made 9 starts that aren't acceptable from a 12 year vet who has started his entire career.
What kind of accuracy are you looking for? Do you expect him to put the ball on the money every single throw? 65% comp. percentage is pretty good in my book. As is the 7.1 ypa.
Actually, no, he didn't. There was absolutely nothing he can do when he gets hit from his blindside before he finished his drop back. He actually did a good job to avoid the initial tackler.
I'm not upset with the loss as much as I'm upset with how they lost. This was classic Bills. They give you hope only to crush that hope by the end of the game. I don't know why I allow myself to fall for it every time.
That's fine, I don't have to convince you. I'm not saying that the game was called perfectly but too many people look to place the blame elsewhere when the Bills simply didn't play well enough to win in the second half.
At one point I just had to laugh. There was a tackle where Rodney Harrison came in and hit McGahee. Sims went on and on about what a tough tackler Harrison was and just listen to that hit. Later Mulroney got hit by (I think) Crowell. It was a solid hit and what does Sims say? He gives Mulroney credit for laying it to the defense. Apparently only the Pats are capable of making big hits.
Losman played well today. The guy can't make plays when there's somebody in his face on nearly every pass play. To say he looked the same as last year is ridiculous. The OL looked the same as last year. I'm actually pretty happy with the play of both Losman and the WRs.
