  1. When the game ended I was happy that the Pats had lost but my immediate thought after that was, "My God, like I don't see enough of Manning's face as it is. This could get ugly."
  2. The Bears D hasn't been able to stop the pass in the last 7-8 games. They've given up something like 280 yards per game over that time span. The Bears D isn't going to stop the Colts O from passing the ball.
  3. Oh how perceptions change. It was only a few short years ago that a few posters went into a frenzy over Hollywood's avatar.
  4. I think that Dungy would have gone for it on 4th down if it was a yard or less for the 1st down, which is why he ran the ball on 3rd down. A TD there wins the game. A FG there puts the game into OT. The way the game had been going in the 4th quarter whoever got the ball first in OT likely would have won the game. I'd take my chances on a 4th and 1 play before I took the 50/50 shot that OT likely would have been.
  5. I don't like the fact that he shows up to play 2-3 times a year, thinks he's a scat-back in a big back's body, he doesn't put his head down and plow into defenders when there are no yards to be had, he’s below average catching the ball and his blitz pickups leave a lot to be desired. The bottom line is that if he were a good back people would put up with his “I’m a star” attitude and all the other stuff. Because he's mediocre (at best) it all gets magnified because it’s easy to criticize. There is an unwritten rule in sports: If you’re not a very good player STFU and keep your nose clean. It would be nice if the star players did the same but who am I kidding.
  6. I'm not sure this constitutes a TD lovefest as signing them 2 years before their contracts were up would have been TD's job. Of course, I'm not sure Mort realized this before saying it.
  7. He also threw an ill-advised 3 yard pass on that drive that ate 20 seconds off the clock. It was an absolutely horrible decision that helped prevent them from getting in realistic FG range. That being said Rivers has shown quite a bit this season even with his late season drop-off.
  8. Because Youboty wasn't NFL ready when he entered the draft (which is why a guy with his talent fell that far down in the draft) and he only played significantly in one game last year. Do you really expect this raw prospect to step into a starter's role next year and be successful? I sure don't. If Nate walks the team needs a CB. Perhaps they can find one in FA or perhaps they'll have to use a high draft pick. If this team goes into next season without addressing a replacement for Nate they are in big trouble.
  9. This might be the dumbest f'in post I've ever read.
  10. Lance Briggs. The guy is a stud and was, perhaps, the best OLB in the game last season not named Merriman. Of course, with the amount of cash he's going to command there's no way he lands in Buffalo but a wish list doesn't have to be realistic.
  11. Yeah, because the Colts are never in prime-time, nationally televised games. I’m sure you’ll also claim that Freeney has nothing to do with the horrible run D the Colts have this year. Pinning his ears back and rushing the passer every single down tends to hurt a teams ability to stop the run. But you’re right, I have no idea why a guy that has wracked up 26 tackles and 5.5 sacks and is a huge liability against the run didn’t make the Pro Bowl?
  12. I've been on Eli's case as much as anybody this year but you guys need to give credit where it's due. At the end of the game he led the Giants down field for the tying TD (overcoming 2nd and 30 in the process). He did what needed to be done at the end of the game even though he struggled mightily for most of it.
  13. Personally I'd rather take a guy that doesn't coach at a perennial powerhouse. Those teams are stacked with so much talent it's tough to tell how well coached they are. Once these coaches get to the NFL they struggle because they no longer have a huge talent advantage. I don't know how Petrino will do in the NFL but I'd say his chances of success are just as good as any coach who has won the national title in the past decade.
  14. How often has Freeny shown up this season? One game?
  15. The correct answer is that Williams is one of the worst Safties in the league against the pass. He consistantly gets over in coverage late. I've seen 5-6 Dallas games this year and I'd say he's allowed more big plays than any other single player I've seen all year. He's good for a few a game.
  16. We should all just lock ourselves in our homes and never leave. Obviously that is the solution.
  17. People have been predicting the Patriots demise every year for the past 3-4 years. I'll believe it when I see it.
  18. You said some stupid things and people called you on it. I didn't see anybody getting riled up in that thread. I think you mistook people laughing at inane comments as getting "riled up." Btw, nobody said that the playcalling couldn't improve. I said it in that thread too. There is a difference between saying the playcalling can improve and the playcalling is the "reason" the Bills lost.
  19. Who is playing MLB in that scenerio?
  20. I know that's a major concern of mine.
  21. There's a strong possibility that the Bills are going to lose both Clements and Fletcher. That's a CB, MLB, DT, RG and #2 WR the Bills need, minimum. That's a bit more than a "polish". As many steps as the Bills have made this season if they lose two of their best players on D I don't see them making huge strides next year. If this team doesn't start holding onto their own FAs it will be in perpetual rebuilding mode.
  22. Yeah, let him go. I'm REALLY hoping the Bills will be 30 million under the cap next year. At least we'll lead the league in something.
  23. The Bills scored 10 3rd quarter points.
  24. There are plenty of WRs out there that catch the ball with their body instead of their hands as well (Keyshawn Johnson comes to mind). Although I'd, obviously, rather them use their hands instead of their body it doesn't mean the player can't be a productive part of the passing game. As I said, he's not going to be Antonio Gates but he can be good enough in the passing game for the Bills to focus their offseason on other spots.
