I've noticed that every time the D plays well this year that Ellison is on the field. He's, by far, the best LB in coverage and seems to always been around the ball, even when he's not in on a tackle. The Bills need to find a way to get him on the field more next year.
Yeah, his first sack didn't have any impact on the game. Schobel has played very well today, from start to finish. Actually, he's played well all season long. The guy is a very good DE, I have no clue why people want to hate on him.
Actually I came away with just the opposite opinion today. Pennington thew a few 15-20 yard outs strongly today. His arm is in much better condition that I thought. It's not strong by NFL standards but he can make all the throws, which is all you need.
The team has played pretty well since the bye week. They'll be 4-2 after this game ends with the two losses coming at Indy and against SD by a combined 4 points. The coaching staff has done a good job overall with managing the talent they have.
I just took another look at it. It's just f'in pathetic. Jets rush 3 guys and our five OL are matched up against 2 DL which leaves the Jets DE isolated on...a RB.
It's one thing if a RB steps out of bounds instead of getting tackled as the wear and tear on their bodies adds up. But a guy that gets the ball a few times a year is stepping out of bounds? WTF.
While it is true that the OL isn't that great Willis gets grief because he deserves it. If he would put his head down and plow through guys when he needed a yard for the 1st down he'd get less grief and more people would tend to blame the OL instead of Willis if he still wasn't effective. A 230+ pound back stopping, then starting behind the LoS tends to annoy people.
