  1. If you'd stop rooting for the Bills they'd be better in the fan intelligence department.
  2. You can sue someone in civil court for pretty much anything but this has nothing to do with what the poster you replied to was saying. The poster you replied to said they could attempt to charge him for something else, like violating their civil rights to which you replied (paraphrasing), "they already tried him in a civil court and you can't go to jail for being convicted in a civil court." While this is true it has nothing to do with what was posted. You can most certainly go to jail if convicted in FEDERAL court of violating someone's civil rights. A Federal civil rights case has absolutely nothing to do with civil court. Of course there are other problems with trying to try him in a federal court for violating his victims civil rigthts but that's another issue altogether.
  3. It's amazing how you can manipulate stats to suit your needs. Let's compare some of RJ's stats to Kelly's. RJ Completion %: 61.3% Y/A 7.2 TD%: 3.7% INT%: 2.8% QB Rating 83.6 Jimbo Completion %: 60.1% Y/A 7.4 TD%: 4.9% INT%: 3.6% QB Rating 84.4 There you have it, RJ was just as good as Jimbo!
  4. Civil rights would be a federal court issue not a civil court issue.
  5. This might be the funniest (albeit, unintentionally) post I've ever ready.
  6. You mean tired word out phrases like "I'll take (subject) for (money) Alex?"
  7. I think you can include the Colts unis with the Giants and Steelers. The simple use of color makes them really stand out without trying to overdo it. I'd say they're the best looking regular unis in the NFL. That being said I've always liked the Chargers' powder blue alt unis the best.
  8. Joe, every time someone disagrees with your point of view it doesn't make them a moron. That being said, I agree with your point about getting into a shootout with the Colts. However, they STILL needed to throw the ball a few more times in order to try to put more than FGs up. They simply were not going to win by putting up FGs. Running the ball on 3rd and goal from the 9 is inexcusable. Rarely throwing on 1st down (the easiest down to throw on) isn't going to work either. I agree that the Bills needed to predominantly run the ball but I would have liked to have seen, oh, 20 total attempts or so.
  9. Too bad this isn't an isolated incident with the Bills D. Sure, this is a different system and coaching staff but the Bills D has been unable to come up big in crunch time for, oh, 7 years now. Even during games when they play very well with the game on the line they always seem to come up small. I'm not saying that they suck or that they won't get better in time just that they've consistently done so and I can't blame fans if they're frustrated by it.
  10. The bottom line in this discussion is that it doesn't matter when you grab your OL/DL but you HAVE to have to be solid in the trenches to be competitive. The same can not be said about any other area. You can mask other deficiencies but you can't mask the lines. So, if a team’s scouting department is talented enough to find those linemen in the later rounds then so much the better. But if they can’t then they have no other option but to use first day picks to attempt to fill the lines. To that point the Bills scouting department done a horrible job of finding diamonds in the rough (or perhaps it’s the coaching staff that’s done a poor job developing them, who knows) so Imo it’s time to try another strategy. We’ve tried the lower tier FA and second day draft pick route for a decade and for whatever reason(s) it hasn’t worked. I’m ready for something else.
  11. I wasn't speaking specifically to you, I’m talking about the thread as a whole. Are you going to disagree with the fact that there is at least one thread per week saying how a different young QB looks great even though he only has a few starts to his name? Not to mention I didn't bring the "IT" part into the discussion, it was already in this thread, hence my response. As for your question, yeah he’s looked good in his limited playing time. The thing about limiting playing time is that it makes you either look much better or much worse than you actually are since the sample size is so small. Let the guy play a few seasons and see where he’s at. People just have the need to jump to conclusions before there is enough evidence to make a valid judgment. That is what my “not funny” (it wasn’t supposed to be funny, btw) statement was alluding to.
  12. Every week it's a new QB who has IT. Who will it be next week?
  13. Next time try reading what was actually written instead of substituting your own thoughts for mine.
  14. Nice to see you have an opinion but I think I'll take the side of guys like Peyton Manning, Jaws, Steve Young (you know, guys that actually know what they're talking about) when they say there is no better way to develop a QB than to let him play. Classroom work will only get you so far. This is pretty much true in every aspect of life btw. The best way to learn anything is to do it. You use Wallace as an example. He looks pretty decent (not good, mind you, just decent.) Now, how much better would he be had he actually played the past 3 years? I'd guess he's be a whole hell of a lot better and I'd imagine he would tell you the same thing. If this Bills team had a shot at the playoffs you could sit JP and let him learn on the bench. This team is going nowhere so there's no reason not to let JP play.
  15. I don't mind the roughing penalty at all. The ST or D was going to have to make another big play for the Bills to win so when given the opportunity Everett made the right decision (it’s just too bad he didn’t get the block.) The Bills would have gotten the ball at the 40 had the roughing call not taking place. After the D stopped the Colts O I believe Parrish had a nice return that put the ball on the 38. It didn’t really cost the Bills anything but a few minutes off the clock.
  16. Where is the play action pass, where are the quick slants, where is the shotgun formation, where is the RB screen, where are the planned rollouts? The list goes on and on. I still don't know why this offense doesn't even attempt to mix it up a little bit. This O is basically one of two things; 5-7 step drop, JP drops back and if Evans isn't open 10-15 yards downfield it's a sack or 3 step drop and fire it out for a WR screen (usually to Price). That's the Bills passing game in a nutshell. It's like this coachings staff went to the exact polar opposite of Mularkey. Where Mularkey had a billion formations and tricks this one does only one or two things. Isn't there some middle ground?
  17. When people say, "someone is coming in unblocked" they're not talking about a blitz where there are more rushers than blockers. They're talking about the DE or DT lined up right in front of an OL who just runs right by the man who is supposed to block him. I'd imagine if you watched the games you'd know this and not assume it was a blitz. I don't remember the Colts blitzing much, if at all, yesterday. Why blitz when you can get contstant pressure without doing so.
  18. Yes, you are correct. If your QB simply drops back and quickly dumps it off for 4 yards every single time he will take fewer sacks.
  19. I think it has to do with the passing game as a whole. This includes, but is not limited to, JP.
  20. For the most part I agree though a few of those plays were inexcusable. Running the ball on 3rd and goal from 9 nine, for example. At some point you have to try to score TDs and that was the perfect opportunity.
  21. This is the most ridiculous comment that people seem to continually make. They keep looking at total passing yards and then attempt to soley blame the QB for it. Do you think it might have something to do with the playcalling? How many yards can a QB rack up if he's only throwing a handful of times per game? I'm not claiming that JP is lighting it up even with his limited attempts. He's struggled mightily at times. That being said his YPA, while not great, isn't as pathetic as people want to make it sound with their continual comments about his YPG. Losman is averaging 6.67 YPA. The QBs that surround him in the rankings of YPA? Brady (6.74), Carr (6.75), A. Smith (6.66), Vick (6.61), Delhomme (6.41)and Plummer (6.38). So while Losman isn't lighting it up his passing yards would look much better if he actually got to throw the ball on 1st down (or 3rd down for that matter). I'm not going to critique the coaching staff when they devised a game plan that kept this game within 1 point but you have to realize that the game plan is what prevents Losman from putting up decent yardage totals. Of all the QBs that have started every single game only Vick has fewer attempts than Losman.
  22. He's spent much of the half on the bench with the Bills playing a lot of nickle.
  23. When did you see this mythical "pocket" you speak of?
  24. Wtf are you talking about? Do you seriously think those sacks were JP's fault?
  25. I've seen extensive highlights of the game (they spent roughly 10 minutes on the game on Cold Pizza one morning) and have seen every turnover from it. You're missing my point though. Even if the Bears did make mistakes the Phins still put themselves in a position to make plays and then executed on both offense and defense. I am not a believer in luck, the defense creates opportunities via schemes and then has the opportunity to finish. QBs make mistakes in every single game and it's up to the D to make plays when they do. The Phins D did that. On the flip side of the ball, the Dolphins O ran the ball all over the vaunted Bears D and also executed in the passing game when they got the ball in the red zone. It's easy to say, "they had a short field" but the offense still had to put the ball in the endzone when it mattered and they did that. You're simply not giving the Dolphins the credit they deserve for beating the crap out of the Bears.
