  1. The extensive coverage 6 months ago might have been a tipoff that they were at risk.
  2. Maybe he learned from Marrone.
  3. I'm with those who don't see how a GM can "go rogue" in cutting a player. He made the decision... that's his job. I don't like the decision, but I think he should be able to make it (without the owners weighing in).
  4. We'll see how his power holds up post-surgery.
  5. Because they hadn't reached their season ticket goal yet.
  6. I believe this was Rex's call although Whaley was probably in full support.
  7. No, but I do think that statistically it might not have helped the enthusiasm which got them to record 60,000 season tickets if they cut him during the "hot season" for ticket sales.
  8. If you take punts into account.
  9. Too bad he busted a nut. Hope it doesn't trouble him all season.
  10. So I get why they released him, but I can't see why they kept him around in the offseason when they were thinking about releasing him. Oh wait... Any chance they wanted to wait to drop him until AFTER they hit the season ticket record???
  11. I don't think more training is going to help. His body is probably in great shape. I think that some players have more balance, vision, prioperception, reactions/reflexes, or something which keeps them "lucky" despite many hits. Basically they get hit "squarely" less often and therefore are injured less. Goodwin just seems "unlucky" and in ways that are not explained by toughness alone. I think he just doesn't "slip" hits well enough... So he probably will not make it as a consistent NFL player. Too bad because he made some nice catches.
  12. They still don't want him because he's 34.
  13. We could also just have a "punt catcher". I nominate Cyrus Kouandijo.
  14. You can't have it both ways - if he's cut, he can't return punts.
  15. Based on your previous posts I think it is a stretch to say that you love Fred, other than in the more abstract "I love him as a human being" sense.
  16. Karlos Williams, 22, ruptured something. Or busted something. Whatever his lower body injury, it makes you wonder if we need 4 RBs.
  17. He's getting old and injury prone. Cut him. Sorry, wrong RB with a hamstring injury in practice... My mistake.
  18. This is a bad pickup. Even if he makes the roster, he is virtually guaranteed to be suspended. If it was a real position of need, it might be worth a shot, but this is really not a move that clearly benefits the team in any way. It probably will not have a huge downside, but more likely just fizzle and be a distraction. I have a bad feeling about Rex's coaching abilities and judgement.
  19. Keep at it, one day he'll be off the team.
  20. You get some honesty from the GM and people are upset? Would you be MORE upset if he said "no way will we need a quarterback, I refuse to answer, our QBs are Pro Bowl caliber?" Let's not forget this gem: "We don't have Lebron James at QB".
  21. So can I blame Marv for sleeping through meetings and apparently not even trying to improve the situation ? He may have been unqualified as GM but I am assuming he still had a knowledge of football.
  22. And Sammy Baugh's punting.
  23. Now that we've had a cheer, can we get the wave started in here?
  24. 1) You don't? Either you have not read this thread (multiple people have said something to the effect of "cut him now") or you have a very active ignore list. A guy with 10 posts said "Cut him" just 30 minutes before you posted.
