  1. Looks like OBD has started looking towards 2013 already. Player development and evaluation starting. Here's to the draft!!
  2. Anyone else feel like Chan had no right to cut Brian Mooreman? Our best player for the last decade and he is cast aside for a rookie. Mooreman just made a killer kick in his first action as a Cowboy. I just feel that as a fan favorite for so many years Chan had no right to cut him. Just one more negative in my opinion.
  3. So you think that a journalists time and thoughts should be free? Not sure what you do "professionally", but I'm guessing you would like to be paid for your work the same as the R&C writers.
  4. If players like Spiller and TJ Graham (who coming out of college are considered above average intelligence) and players that have NFL experience (Young and Jackson) are not able to pick up the offense in 4 months, is it possible that the offense is just too complicated? It appears more and more that Gailey's offense may be perfect, if you had a Harvard Grad with exceptional position skills at every position on offense.. but that isn't the reality of the NFL these days. You have injuries, you have academic morons coming out of college, you have off-season trades that happen. If you can't get a guy up to speed in 4 weeks of practice... your offense is too complicated!
  5. Is Tim referring to knowledge of playbook, or ability to hit open receivers? If this is an intelligence thing, I'll give them a pass after just a few days in camp. If they aren't completing throws to open receivers... then cut them now and bring in someone who can at least throw.
  6. For every 1 T.O. I bet there are 100 players that are fiscally responsible. Let's not paint all players with this broad paint brush.
  7. Agreed. A big reason I am so passionate for our Bills is due to the type of character that our team continues to bring in. It must be hard to be an Eagles fan rooting for Dog Killer (Vick), the Bengals with those idiots and countless other idiots on other teams. I'm proud to be a Bills fan, not only for the team itself, but the type of character our team continues to bring in.
  8. I agree that if your starters can play, they should... however I agree Mr. Weo, at some point you have to re-evaluate that plan during a 7 game losing stretch. We went from playoff bound to missing the playoffs and many could argue the play of the QB played a major role in that. If it is a lack of confidence in Thigpen... why is he still here? That makes me question personnel decisions. It isn't as if he was a rookie and they had to give him time to develop... Thigpen has started in the NFL and played well under Gailey.
  9. Admittedly I don't post here often, but I do read quite a bit. Something I have not noticed (and if I missed it, I apologize) is that we aren't spending a lot of time talking about our backup QB situation, or more importantly, the decision not to go to our backup QB last year when Fitz was suffering from broken ribs. I understand that Chan Gailey (and the BBills) have not officially announced that Fitz was injured during the Skins game. I also know that it is illegal to not name a player on the injury report when he is injured. So to get confirmation is probably never going to happen beyond players stating the obvious. All of that said, what was behind the decision to keep an injured Fitz on the field, rather than giving him 2-3 weeks off and letting Thigpen take over? If Thigpen sucks, #1, why was he ever allowed to be our backup. #2, why is he still on the team today? If I could get Chan good and drunk, this would be the single question I would want him to answer honestly to me. Why keep a guy on your roster that wasn't better than a guy with broken ribs? Could he really have done much worse than Fitz looked the 2nd half of the season? Or was this more about chemistry and allowing Fitz to remain the unquestioned starter all season regardless of his injury and poor play? I'd love to hear some feedback from my Bills Faithful on this.
  10. I sure hope that was a college and not a high school...
  11. The only way you bring in Tebow is if you expect him to start. Not that any of it is his fault, but his fans will demand that he plays, even if the first string QB is playing above average (like Fitz most likely will). Tebow is a cult fan favorite, if he doesn't start, it may divide a locker room and fan base (a la Doug Flutie).
  12. I agree with the OP. Mike Wallace for our 1st is a smart decision. Instant Impact Player. Draft OT in Round 2 and go Defense the remainder of the draft.
  13. Let me know when that diminishing return starts to happen...
  14. There have been rumors (confirmed or unconfirmed) that Fitz has been injured since the hit he took from London Fletcher in the Skins game. My question, does he get a free pass if it is revealed that he has been playing with broken ribs (or more) since that hit? It seems to coincide with the start of his poor play.
  15. I noticed this bandage was still on against the Skins. Does anyone know whats going on with his finger?
  16. It's automatic on 3rd and less than 2. Beyond that, I wish they would never run it.
  17. I like The Ralph, it needs major improvements, but overall, I like the stadium. If we aren't getting a new one, I am glad they would upgrade the old one. Also, if they spend 50 Mill on upgrades (even the taxpayers) the team should be locked into a long term deal (10 years or more). Now... on the other hand, if I was a Jets fan living in WNY, I would be PISSSSSSED!
  18. If they think they are Superbowl contenders, and need a RB so badly, maybe now is the time that we get value for CJ. Let's face it, a number 1 draft pick should never be second string RB/WR.
  19. I'd give anything for a Play-Action on 2nd and 1!
  20. Just sayin... 5-0 is possible (as long as we don't look passed the Bengals)!
  21. I am a Kelsay hater as well, however last season, I too noticed his marked improvement in the 2nd half of the season (especially the last 4 games). He went from awful to average. Hopefully a full year of this defense he'll go from average to above average, but I will never expect average to good or even great. If he can be an above average OLB, that should be enough... for now. His replacement should already be on the roster, or should be drafted next year. We don't need studs at every position. We need 8 solid players, and 3 studs. Last year, we had 8 weak players, 2 solid players, and 1 stud.
