  1. Hey guys... I'm not a Trent fan by any stretch, however I think it is ridiculous to cut a guy after 1 game while learning a new offense, had 3 OL starters out, and had his 2 starting RB's out. Not to mention, we don't have a legit #2 WR yet. The guy was playing against a first string defense, with a second/third string offense... no one would have looked good. If by preseason week 3 he still looks this bad, I'll ammend my opinion, but for now, he gets 3 games to prove himself before sending him packing.
  2. I stopped watching ESPN 5 years ago. They focus on a few big name city's, their teams, and any player that brings negativity to their sport. They are the same as the major news networks, they are going for ratings, not for news or analysis. I do, however, watch NFL Network now and again, because at times... they can be neutral. Unfortunately, I already see them starting to go down the same road as ESPN. On a broader note... the major news networks (ABC, CBS, CNN, FOX, ESPN, etc) are no longer news networks. They are entertainment networks. The real journalists are online working for sites like TBD, BillsZone, and others.
  3. I enjoyed that video. The more I hear Gailey speak, the more I like him. The more I see him "coach" the more I like him! And yes, he did mention "That Eric Wood is an athlete, he makes us a lot better by being in there"
  4. Agreed! I used to veg out all weekend with my laptop tuned to TBD and BZone, following every pick. This year... I could care less about it... I have too much going on during the week to worry about the draft... Sucks!
  5. I'll be curious to see what happens when/if a playcaller decides to leave either of our RB's in the game for more than 4 consecutive plays. While I understand that today's NFL is a 2 back league... I disagree with splitting carries. I feel that a RB gets better as the game goes on. He gets into a rhythm and begins to feel how defenses are playing him. Play each a half, if needed... but Lynch is the type of back that needs 25+ touches a game. 7-12 just won't give him an opportunity to get his motor (beast mode) going.
  6. Where are you guys even seeing a link? EDIT: nevermind, just refreshed yet again.
  7. raise our children and convince our wives to become Bills Fan's when you keep feeding us ****, and good reasons not to! It's hard enough to get my wife to want to go to a game, when all I do is B word about how much we suck! I guess its only one game for me again this year! (opener) I almost talked her into allowing me to buy Season Tix if Marty or Cowher came here!
  8. I actually agree with you on this. I think Cowher retired because he was "finished" with football. He achieved what he wanted to achieve, and exited stage left on his terms. I do not think Billick feels that he has accomplished everything though. While he has an SB ring, it was won by the defense, and being an "Offense Guy", I think he takes some offense to the fact that no-one gives him his due for the SB win. I, too, feel Billick is hungrier.
  9. If the firing of Turk proves to be the catalyst of this offense... I'll be the first to publicly thanks Dick Jauron. Here's hoping it works!
  10. Whoa... while I agree that Walker sucks... cutting him this close to the season makes little sense... how about seeing if Bell can even handle the duties before annointing him. Unless this is all done prior to signing someone...
  11. Agreed. I thought it was Man Law that you can't get your name (or nickname in this case) on the back of a jersey unless you are under 12 years old or actually playing for the team of the jersey you are wearing. I'm assuming you aren't 12... and I know you're not playing for the Bills... so feel free to return your Man Card at any time!
  12. Am I the only one who is beyond disgusted by this T.O. signing? We just sold our soul to the Devil, and I cannot support it. I was on edge already.. this is the final straw.
  13. This is all BS. The guy starts up an ugly website using Blue and Yellow for his colors... and his "merchandise" is Cafe Press iron on T-shirts!
  14. Normally it takes me a few weeks after our season ends for me to begin to believe that next year will be different. But even now... I feel a sense of complete dismay that next year will likely be the same or even worse than this past year. I sure hope Free Agency and the Draft change that...
  15. Ask for a few more vacation days. If they give you 2 weeks, ask for 3.
  16. I got exactly what I wanted yesterday! A Bills loss that was directly caused by bad coaching! We're not winning the super bowl this year... and the worse this team is down the stretch, the more likely the possibility of big changes being made! I am a Bills fan... but the 2008 season was over 3 weeks ago!
  17. I started wondering this in about week 7. I, personally, think that it has more to do with what Jauron allows him to call. Dick likes to play close games... he is fine with "being in it in the 4th quarter" then letting his defense make a play that allows us to kick the game winning field goal. The problem is, Dick has coached so many bad teams that simply "being in it in the 4th quarter" is how he is used to succeeding (if you can call it that). I really believe that Dick thought that Turk was taking too many chances on offense, and putting his defense in a position to play from behind. I just can't imagine 2 OC's back to back doing the exact same stupid things without their boss being part of the problem.
  18. Yes, an NFL owner is not allowed to own another pro franchise in the same city. So in order for Jim Kelly to get Tom Golisano to join his "club" to buy the Bills, Tom would need to sell the Sabres first.
  19. Seriously? The guy talks all season about being the antithesis of Fairchild. He comes out in the first week and throws the long ball, establishes the run with runs off tackle and to the edge. Then... he seemed to forget everything. I honestly don't see any difference in the playcalling yesterday than in any game Fairchild called. So is it the OC... or does Jauron have a say in how the offense is called?
  20. Now imagine this being a powerless dome stadium, after the worst hurricane in US History, for a week. Then thank God you didn't live in New Orleans during Katrina!
  21. I think new teams like the Ravens have an alternate jersey they wear in lieu of throwbacks... the Ravens throw back is a Black Jersey. Same with Jacksonville and Carolina.
  22. To actually answer your question, we have been using a "Zone Blocking" scheme. It is the same scheme that Denver has used for the last 10 years (Shanahan). Unfortunately, our coaching staff hasn't read the book on the Zone Blocking scheme as it is not designed to be utilized by a team who's offensive linemen are over 300 pounds. Effective Zone Blocking requires a small, quick, and in turn... fast lineman who can cover his zone effectively. Our linemen are too slow for this, and it is noticable by our lack of ability to run the last 2 years. I still hold out hope that next week, we will see a change, or at least a trial period for a possible change. We are just not playing to the strength of our offensive line.
