  1. How many mulligans does this guy get before people realize he's fumbling in the dark for the light switch? Taking 4 off-seasons to realize you don't have a solid QB on the roster is the most egregious example of a bad GM. This rebuild, at best, is stuck in the mud because Nix can't get things right the first time.
  2. How then did Polian rebuild Carolina so quickly? The man's rebuilt three franchises in the span of 20 years. That's no fluke, it's a trend.
  3. Dalton's Bengals made the playoffs last year. It comes down to the situation that young QB inherits and how he's supported. Good teams take QB's and put talent around him or already have some. In Tannehill's case, he went into an offense similar to what was run in college. Fact is, 1st and 2nd year QB's can and do make the playoffs. You then hope they build from that and improve. Few NFL rookies at any position have their best season that first year.
  4. Is Jeff George still available?
  5. Easley not being added to an active roster during his time on the PS should tell everyone how the other 31 teams view his talent. The Potter experiment meanwhile lasts half a season, which is another indicator that Nix and Gailey aren't the slam dunk personnel evaluators some make them out to be.
  6. Well, Whitehurst fits with the Bills trend of acquiring QB's on their third career club. That's worked out so well during Nix's tenure.
  7. Jauron was 7-9 in 06, 07, and 08. He was fired in 09 after going 3-6, which put him at 24-33 in about 3.5 seasons, or winning 42% of his games. Gailey is 13-27 while accepting as big a rebuild and would need to go 11-6 in his next 17 games to equal DJ. Barring a miracle, Gailey will be back.
  8. I'd like to see them have options to take any of the top QB prospects as well. It's alarming that in the Nix risk-averse mindset how he stands pat and doesn't maneuver on draft day. So unless Nix changes his tune and is willing to move up, then we're left with picking from lesser talents. And that only works if you have talent evaluators who are versed in their trade. Right now, that doesn't seem to be the case with the 2010 and 2011 drafts.
  9. He is paid by the organization and as such rarely criticizes. But I'd agree, that's pretty weak to highlight success from a game like that.
  10. This is the same franchise that started the "continuity" narrative in the wake of DJ's 1-9 finish to the 2008 season. I sincerely don't think the powers that be want to make further changes, even though they have to know Nix's rebuild has failed. And so the status quo is the path of least resistance and Nix/Gailey return in 2013.
  11. Of all people, Marvin Lewis figured the Bills offense out last year in Week 4. It's been downhill offensively against the big boys since then.
  12. Why did I shave down to a goatee?
  13. The lack of talent is on Nix and that front office he's assembled. Gailey has some responsibility, but not nearly as much. But it's good to know Nix has committed to Gailey for another season with half a season left.
  14. You can almost predict a Fitz pick.
  15. Using the middle of the field. Color me impressed.
  16. George Wilson benched for Searcy?
  17. Andre Johnson hasn't been the same this season, but still good enough to toast Williams.
  18. I guess Chan is giving up on the run already.
  19. I've never seen a defensive unit collectively fall for a PA pass
  20. I'd rather Fitz attempt a 2 yard pass than run against that front 7 (EDIT: on third and short)
  21. Chan Gailey the offensive genius strikes again
  22. Aaron Williams. Another Nix home run.
  23. You mean like last year's 1-8 finish? Well, going 1-9 in 2008 didn't get Jauron fired, so even crashing and burning probably means the same cast returns next year.
