  1. Winning teams aren't built around the running game anymore. We need a franchise QB.
  2. I agree that Russ's influence likely does not extend very far into personnel decisions. Modrak is definitely the guy with the most influence (as it pertains to draft picks).
  3. Don't rule out trading up for a QB. Any new regime will likely want their own QB under center, and we have extra picks from the Peters and Youboty trades. There is also a distinct possibility that the new GM will trade aging veterans (Schobel, Stroud, McGee, etc..) to stockpile picks.
  4. Bulger will most likely be cut. No team is going to trade for a QB making $9 million a year, that has not had a QB rating above 75 in 3 years.
  5. You get it free if you subscribe to the magazine.
  6. Most likely it will be QB in round 1. Most new HCs or GMs want their own guy under center.
  7. A femur break is far different from a lower leg injury. The femur is the toughest bone to break in the body, and takes a long, long time to heal. Your tibia and fibula take a lot less time to heal. The femur is so difficult to break, that a lot of people say it sounds like a gun shot when it does break.
  8. Campbell is a restricted FA, so the Skins are likely to retain him.
  9. Clausen and Bradford are the only two QBs who are worth a top 15 selection, and I think there is a pretty good chance one of them will be there when we pick. Trading up a few slots is also a definite possibility.
  10. No they can't. You cannot talk to anyone employed by another NFL team, unless you are given permission by that team.
  11. The NFL is a passing league, is anyone surprised?
  12. It's pretty much backups vs backups anyways.... we do have 20 people on IR.
  13. Buddy Nix would be a fine candidate for the GM of this team. He helped build the current SD team, and was AJ Smith's assistant GM/director of college scouting for years.
  14. We should bring back Tom Donahoe.
  15. There is a difference between expecting and needing. Everyone knew Maybin was a project, and anyone who expected a good rookie year was, frankly, ignorant. Maybin was drafted for long term development, and has rare speed and athleticism, which is why he was such a highly rated prospect. Maybin may be a bust, or he might be the next Jason Taylor, but evaluating him now is idiotic. The kid might never be any good, but he has the talent to be a perennial sack leader.
  16. Why does everyone seem to think that this team needed immediate production out of Maybin? Even if he played great for a rookie, it still wouldn't have really mattered. There was nothing wrong with drafting a project.
  17. No, you throw 10 million at the guy and he says "I'll get 15 in washington".
  18. pick up Bulger when he becomes a FA, and then draft a QB to sit behind him for a year or two.
  19. Bulger would honestly be the best short-term solution; he would allow us to groom a young QB for a year or two.
  20. Honestly, no administration (republican or democrat) would investigate their own.
  21. The problem is that Tebow lacks accuracy, has an average arm, an extremely slow release, and has bad footwork. It would be far simpler to draft a traditional pocket passer, and would not require such a highly specialized offense for him to succeed. I also really doubt Tebow's ability to fit the ball into NFL-size windows, and no offense would change that.
  22. Many of the players that were looking to cash in on big FA contracts, will only be RFAs after this season.
  23. I would take Mike Mularkey as our coach.
  24. Not to mention Johnson is a very good cover 2 LB, so there would be little risk in signing him.
