  1. Because Bill Cowher wants to walk into a job that requires minimal or no re-building. It's as simple as that.
  2. If Bradford or Clausen are there when we pick, we should take one of them.
  3. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...around-del-rio/ I wouldn't mind him as our HC, as he has always had a good running game in J-ville.
  4. As long as he brings his boomstick, I'm okay with the move.
  5. Still though... back then it wouldn't have raised many eyebrows if a playoff game was blacked out. It would be national news in a heartbeat today.
  6. EDIT: 31% of games were blacked out during the 1990's, while only 8.5% were blacked out in the 2000's. http://www.cnbc.com/id/32406523
  7. Actually, no it's not. I'm willing to bet that if you looked at the number of black outs per year, you would see that there were FAR more back then. EDIT: 31% of games were blacked out during the 1990's, while only 8.5% were blacked out in the 2000's. http://www.cnbc.com/id/32406523
  8. There is a rule, that if you make the final 8 teams left in the post-season, you cannot sign a FA unless you lose one. The Cowboys are in the final 8, so they will have to let people go if Jerry Jones wants to spend big this off season. This will undoubtedly help teams like us, because the big spenders might have to let good mid-tier FAs go in order to get their star FA pick ups.
  9. The NFL is far different than it was 17 years ago. Non-sell outs were common, today they are not.
  10. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...o-fill-stadium/ That stadium would be packed the moment they opened the gate, if it were Buffalo.
  11. I believe the highest draft pick on San Diego's line is a 2nd rounder. That should tell you something about how Nix will draft.
  12. Honestly, if Tommie Harris gets healthy, they won't need luck. I guess you could say it would be lucky if he was healthy, though.
  13. Jason Peters has got to be one of the most hot/cold players in the league. He can dominate one game, and then be absolutely owned the next. He would be worth his contract if he was consistent, but it doesn't seem like much has changed.
  14. Yeah, and Jay Cutler is a great QB. We had the exact same debate, with you passing off every single piece of evidence that Cutler wasn't that good as worthless. You can't look behind numbers, and analyze players/coaches.
  15. There is no speculation there. You can go through the news articles from 2003, and guess what you will find? All of them attribute Brian Billick to drafting Kyle Boller. You know what else you will find? No language which suggests speculation. They all clearly state it, without words such as "We are hearing" or "my opinion is that"... etc. You can argue all you want about this, but there is evidence for my side, and none for yours.
  16. He's a restricted free agent, so don't add Denver to your list.
  17. You are the king of not knowing what you are talking about. Brian Billick drafted Kyle Boller. That is a fact. Ozzie Newsome did NOT want Kyle Boller, but Billick lobbied hard enough to get him. This is well documented. http://pqasb.pqarchiver.com/baltsun/access...mp;pqatl=google Billick had significant control over offensive personnel, as he was able to out rule his GM on several players.
  18. Please, Billick had almost nothing to do with that 2000 Ravens defense. If you actually read a little about Billick, you would realize that he gets almost no credit for the performance of the defense. The Ravens were already great on defense before he came. He was hired because the Ravens offense was absolutely terrible, and was given a lot of power to choose his QB and offensive personnel. The Ravens offense never finished above 14th in his NINE YEARS that he was in Baltimore. For a guy with an offensive background, that is an absolutely awful track record. But you can go ahead and keep attributing that Super Bowl win to Billick, but then again, you can remain oblivious. Baltimore's offense is already better than it was during Billick's entire 9 year run in Baltimore.
  19. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/stor...&id=3175189 Fantastic article about Billick
  20. "Trust me, Baltimore, I know quarterbacks."
  21. Yeah, he said: "You guys are the greatest defense of all time, go out and play."
  22. If you really think Billick had anything to do with those Raven teams winning, you really need to watch more football.
  23. So, you guys would rather have a proven failure (Brian Billick) than an unknown coordinator that many people speak highly of?
  24. I'd be really happy if he went in the 1st round. That would mean that a much better player would slip to our 2nd round spot, as Tebow would be a huge reach.
  25. Actually that is probably incorrect. I'm not completely aware of Georgia's misprision of felony statutes, but the Federal and State statutes that I have read all indicate there there needs to be active concealment to be charged with any crime. For example, you cannot be arrested for witnessing a robbery and not calling the police, but you can be charged if you try to cover up that it ever happened.
