  1. He's not offering Fox an extension because there is a possibility of no football in 2011, and doesn't want to have to pay a HC salary.
  2. If he doesn't take a job this year, there is a good chance he won't get a job for another two years. There is a strong possibility there will not be football in 2011.
  3. Miami went from 1-15 to 11-5 in one off season. No one in the NFL is far away from winning.
  4. Carolina won too, which should pretty much lock John Fox in as safe.
  5. We could easily be a 10-6 team next year, or the year after.
  6. Heard him on WGR about 10 mins ago. He said that the Bills have met with Cowher (or one of his reps) in mid-December, and last week.
  7. I don't think so. Most people are saying that Cowher wants the final decision on personnel wherever he goes.
  8. I dont think the Bucs are paying for Gruden anymore. Contract law states that you can get your damages for being fired, but you must take an equal or greater salary job. So if the Bills offered Gruden more than he was making in Tampa, he would be forced to take our offer, or take another team's offer... or Gruden would receive nothing. His ESPN contract likely comes something close to his coaching salary though, so he isn't losing much money.
  9. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...hot-in-buffalo/ The Jets have the 1st ranked running game in the NFL, so I think Brian would be a decent hire.
  10. Rivera would have to be Assistant HC/DC, since you can't interview other team's coaches for lateral or lesser jobs.
  11. What's different is that Brandon won't be involved in the football side of things.
  12. Black monday is coming up folks. That is the day NFL teams fire the front office employees they want to get rid of. Don't expect any firings before that.
  13. Rivera as HC, and Brian Schottenheimer as OC/Assistant HC?
  14. You are clearly a delusional Tebow fan boy. No amount of scouting reports, expert opinions, or analysis on Tebow will change your mind.
  15. Why should NFL teams even scout players? Why should they even rank them? Tebow's fanboys' arguments are that someone should take him because he's a winner. Why shouldn't NFL teams just draft the entire roster of the National Championship winning team? After all... how they project to the NFL doesn't matter. "Heart" and the "ability to win" are all that matters.
  16. Tebow's accuracy is solidly below average for a college QB. That is indisputable. He has an above-average arm, but it's nothing special, and his throwing motion is horrid. You can parrot his completion percentage all you want, but the fact is that he isn't very accurate. He can hit wide open guys, but struggles to position the ball correctly, and throws many passes that will be batted down or picked in the NFL.
  17. If you can't understand the difference between accuracy and completion percentage, you are not worth arguing with.
  18. I agree. Tebow is horrible against defenses that have actual NFL prospects on them (Alabama). Meanwhile, anyone Tebow has to face must contend with 1st round picks. Joe Haden, Brandon Spikes, and Carlos Dunlap will all be top 25 picks this year. Joe Haden will be a top 5 pick. Tebow's scouting report is not that great.
  19. You can't really defend his accuracy... even his biggest proponents (Tony Dungy) agree that his accuracy is sub-par for an NFL QB prospect.
  20. Tebow doesn't know how to read a defense. Alabama made him look like a high school player by dropping players into zone coverage and confusing him. They were able to do that because they cut off his ability to run the ball. He can spot guys who are open in man, but really struggles to diagnose complicated zone schemes. If you couple the fact that he has below average accuracy and a slow release, you will see why almost no one is giving him a first round grade.
  21. Switching to the 3-4 will only lengthen our rebuilding period, because there aren't enough players coming out of college that fit the 3-4 mold. The league has an overpopulation of 3-4 teams, and teams are taking guys before they should be drafted. I say stick with the 4-3 (the vast majority of college teams have 4-3 defenses) and we should get a better pick of the litter.
  22. What is the main role of a GM in the NFL? Drafting and signing players. Buddy Nix has shown that he is very good at identifying talent. I don't see what the problem is.
  23. I hope we keep the 4-3, but draft bigger and stronger players. Just because we run the 4-3 doesn't mean we have to be small.
  24. To be fair, Mularkey was a damn good coach. If we had given him more to work with, I think we could be seeing the type of offensive success that Atlanta is seeing.
