  1. Atlanta almost did. They hired the architect of the patriot's teams as their GM, though.
  2. http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/...heimer-to-bills Best part: Martyball in Buffalo?
  3. You should probably read the last few posts.
  4. The Schottenheimer's seem like the prime candidates.
  5. Here is a tweet from Mort: @mortreport Before Bills' fans get annoyed, understand Nix has an outstanding rep. Lot of good NFL people gave him much credit for Chargers' resurgence
  6. Why would anyone hire a guy who has drafted a dozen pro-bowlers in 8 years? IM OUTRAGED!!!!!
  7. Him being from the organization means absolutely nothing. You are trying to make it seem like its a terrible thing. It's not...
  8. Yes, bitching about hiring one of the best talent evaluators in the NFL is justified. The guy has drafted about a dozen pro-bowlers, and helped build one of the best teams in the NFL.
  9. Nix is in no way responsible for these Bills teams. It seems like people on this board just like to B word and moan.
  10. Only Bills fans would B word about having one of the top talent evaluators in the NFL as our GM.
  11. And if we had hired Dave Gettleman? Would you people still be bitching about him being a #2 guy?
  12. If Nix is the new GM, look for us to draft an SEC or Big 12 player in round one. The guy is recognized as one of the best evaluators of talent from the south (where he lives).
  13. If Nix was still the assistant GM/Director of college scouting, would anyone complain?
  14. By the way, Nix is from outside the organization. He was brought on at the beginning of this season. I believe he had a falling out with AJ Smith (big surprise). He was AJ's assistant GM/director of college scouting for years.
  15. Nix would be an extremely capable GM, I don't know why people are bitching.
  16. Or he could kill himself January 1st, and avoid the estate tax altogether.
  17. Why would we trade for Bulger, when he is likely to be cut?
  18. Usually, a player earns recognition based on his play.... then he gets into the pro bowl based on reputation after that.
  19. Yes, leaving a player who had just suffered a concussion unsupervised in a dark room is completely acceptable. What if James had passed out and hit his head? Leach would be liable criminally and civilly, and the university would likely have had to pay a large amount of damages to James.
  20. Not to mention exposing himself and the university to a large amount of liability.
  21. Confining a kid with a concussion to an equipment shed, for one.
  22. If Leach has a morals clause in his contract, there is no way that he wins in court. His actions have brought terrible publicity to the school, and that is cause to breach a contract and fire someone if the appropriate clause is present.
  23. No, but it will take a little bit of the sting out of trading up. High salary demands by players have made the top picks less valuable, and it would not cost us that much to move up if we wanted to.
