  1. Glad to hear they're okay.
  2. Rest in peace, GHW Bush. My thoughts are with his family during this sad time.
  3. Let's be fair. Trump did run against JEB (among other republicans, obviously), and Trump's abrasive (to say the least) campaign style would invoke the ire of any politically dynastic family whose member was running against him. Trump tore JEB a new one. His family is understandably angry with him. For the moment I'm setting aside the Bush family/uniparty/establishment/swamp dynamic and cutting them some slack for why they would have a beef with president Trump. And for the record, in my opinion we haven't yet had a president who I wouldn't wish well in the afterlife.
  4. Rest in peace. I never voted for him. I was a staunch lefty when he ran against Dukakis, and by the time he was running for his 2nd term I had begun to adopt my 'upset the apple cart' attitude and voted instead for Perot (I would have voted for Clinton but decided against it when he said he smoked weed but 'didn't inhale'). That decision was based 100% his going back on his "no new taxes" promise. Times change, and so does a person's personal philosophy. In retrospect, I have come to respect 41, and despite his faults and the valid criticisms of his policy, I wish his family the best during the passing of their patriarch. RIP Mr Bush.
  5. A John Deere letter?
  6. None of the companies or corporations he mentions are monopolies. It sounds to me like the author dislikes huge corporations and is trying to characterize them as monopolies.
  7. The funny thing is that I know people who will repeat that line to me as if they actually believe it.
  8. I used to drive a Hyundai that I named "Attila".
  9. That pretty much sums it up. It's certainly the way it looked to me.
  10. Anything that I might agree with among those items you list really have nothing to do with socialism at all. I don't think that there's anything about socialism at all that has any value in a free, democratic republic, and I believe people that try to act like there is are sacrificing intellectual integrity for the appearance of false open-mindedness.
  11. What harm can listening do? None at all. But why bother? Do you honestly believe that there is anything worth considering in the promotion of or advocacy for socialism? Are there any socialist nations out there that you would compare favorably to the US? What could either of those Marxist-hugging %$#@heads possibly have to say that you might find worthwhile?
  12. It was the thread about outrage on social media platforms like twitter, etc. It reminded me of his previous thread questioning the usefulness of PPP, which he also deleted.
  13. Another thread deleted because it went (and I quote from the subsequent PM) "off topic into a negative place." Among other things, I said I was sick of him "condescending from high atop mount pompous", then deleting his thread and running away. So what did he do? He deleted his thread and ran away. The only time I ever see anything by them is when others quote them. I don't waste my time with either one. Bingo.
  14. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. It's easy to go along with criticism leveled by others, and I wanted to give him the opportunity to prove that he was something other than what he was being accused of being. He couldn't have possibly failed more badly than he did.
  15. If you start a thread in which you don't care for the direction of the resulting conversation, at least try to address that within the thread. This is the 2nd time a specific poster started a thread critical of elements in social media in general, and to a lesser extent PPP, then deleted it because he didn't care for the direction it took. Don't engage people if you can't deal with their responses. I'm not going to waste my time on you any more, and I'll be surprised if anyone else does. And stop with the PMs. I'm not the slightest bit interested in what you have to say.
  16. How long will it take for the SJW's head to explode upon realizing that they support giving anyone time off to celebrate the original exploitation of natives by whitey?
  17. I prefer to think of it as her own way of producing CO2, thereby helping to promote the greening of the Earth, which will generate more oxygen for the rest of us. It's like her words are akin to fertilizer, but for the atmosphere.
  18. The Pacific northwest is by no means the only place where this sort of crap is going on.
  19. They're already screaming "Nazi", so who cares? I'm perfectly fine with making victims of them, too. They can scream whatever they like through bloody, toothless mouths. They're taking it way, way past the point of simple protest. They're using domestic terrorist tactics and intimidation on American citizens that I think can't be allowed to stand. I just don't think that this is going to go away by letting them "grow out of it", or through any reasonable means. Giving into it will only make it worse. I'm obviously venting more than I am thinking right now, but that's exactly how I feel. I've never wanted to walk around wearing a MAGA hat, but I'll be damned if I'll accept the fact that I'll be accosted and intimidated by a bunch of idiot little punks should I ever choose to do so.
  20. I'm beginning to believe that before long, all those spoiled little fascists will need something more than disguises to survive their increasingly violent tantrums. If some little mealy-mouthed putz threw my fish back into the lake, then I'd launch his ass right in after it. If someone spits in my face, I doubt I could keep from reacting, even if it was a woman that did it. These protestors may not realize it, but they're goading people to react with every high-profile hissy fit they throw. There's not even that many of them. Pissed off youngsters, anarchist wannabes, basement-dwelling malcontents who wouldn't know fascism or nazism if it stared them square in the eye. Many will outgrow it, hopefully. The rest are in for a surprise, and I hope to be around to see it.
  21. Your place or mine, big boy?
  22. You just can't cloister boys in that much pink without it having seriously deleterious effects on them.
  23. Really?
