You're laboring under the misapprehension that he has some kind of working cognitive process sparking away in that cavernous cranial cavity of his. There's absolutely no point in carrying on any exchange with him that requires more than one reply to make your point, outside of goading him into responding multiple times, providing entertainment for the rest of us.
I'm all for the freedom of speech aspect of her actions. If she wants to convince a whole new generation that she's a bonehead, it's her right to do so.
Not that it necessarily matters very much, but he strikes me as being the most honest of the bunch. Wouldn't that be an interesting change - an honest politician attaining the presidency?
I think Kasich is solid with regard to fiscal policy. He was a major player in reigning-in spending and getting the budget balanced as part of the 104th congress under Gingrich, so he has credibility in that regard. Social issues such as gay marriage don't concern me too much, so I really don't care about his stance there. It disappoints me that he doesn't seem to have an opinion regarding illegal immigration - is it because he doesn't think it's an issue or is he trying to avoid alienating Latinos?
Absolutely right. I'd even go so far as to add that a stipend isn't likely to stop a person from committing a crime - if they're already breaking laws, is it wise to expect them to suddenly develop a sense of ethics?
Didn't you know that Martin Luther King Jr was a federal agency?
I'd be inclined to approach this from the other side - if someone is on public assistance and is convicted of anything above a misdemeanor crime, they lose their public assistance. How's that for incentive?
I understand exactly how you feel. He strikes me as unscripted, genuine, and sincere, but I will never in my life vote for a socialist, and I'm honestly surprised at how many people think socialism is just what the US needs.
My takeaway was that like Dr. King, Bernie also has a dream, and if you don't like leaders who dream, then you don't like Dr. King, which means....you know....racist.
