  1. A little off-topic here, but you live in a sanctuary city like I do, right?
  2. Just about any of them would have been a decent moderate choice, but too many republicans are so fed up with the moderate, AKA 'establishment' republicans that they're just not supporting them this time. For good or for ill, Trump has tapped into that. Cruz's willing opposition to 'the establishment' has carried him pretty well too; both are gaining their popularity from the base's unhappiness with the Republicans' handling of issues in recent years.

  4. I say no. Wouldn't Reagan have earned a Purple Heart for the attempt on his life had he been considered an actual member of the military?
  5. To be honest, I think that's likely to happen either way.
  6. I like it. It's certainly a step in the right direction.
  7. I understand, and am not trying to argue. My point is that for a bunch of people who call themselves "the party of Reagan", they've pretty much been anything but that. Now someone like Trump comes along, and (despite that he's really nothing like Reagan himself) these noodle-spined moderates start crying that Trump isn't "conservative enough", and actually mobilize a campaign to defeat their party's front-runner. I agree with your take on the two major parties and their shared goal of holding onto power at all costs, but the irony the Republicans are displaying in shooting down the person who has done more to mobilize Republican voters in a generation is stunning to me.
  8. People without Bratwurst.
  9. Not after the assassination of Udai and Qusai.
  10. Server - I see what you did there.
  11. No argument here. It's just so crass when it's this blatantly obvious. At least you didn't have to resort to any tired old democrat party talking points.
  12. You know when you'll know if there's room for a 'When your head is rolling down a flight of stairs' department?
  13. I think the increased turn out is unquestionably due to Trump, mostly in support of him. I'm not necessarily saying that I believe that's a good thing, but the Republican party's reaction to his candidacy is illustrative of their disconnect with voters. Things like the formation of super pacs designed to destroy his candidacy and Romney coming out to flame him indicate that they're more interested in maintaining their status quo than they are to respecting their base.
  14. I agree with this 100%. Like him or not, Trump is resonating with a lot of people of significantly diverse political backgrounds, not just angry republicans.
  15. It's almost comical how so many people focus so intently on CO2, methane, etc as atmospheric warming agents and don't even know that water vapor is far more prevalent than anything else.
  16. To be honest, are any of the above worse than what we've got now?
  17. The More I read about this issue, the less I understand what the FBI is looking for that can't be obtained from the metadata collected by the NSA.
  18. Isn't it funny how conservatives, libertarians, and independents see the president as an incompetent, bumbling, narcissistic, idealologue, but liberals, socialists, and democrats see him as a black guy?
  19. Your relationship with English is as entertaining as your misunderstanding of pretty much everything. Don't think of it as trolling, consider it to be applause - appreciation for yet another little gem you so kindly provide us.
  20. They could pick up some new techniques on how to impose their intolerance by learning from the pros?
  21. That's just it - they don't want to grow up. Being young and idealistic is fine, but the whole idea of growing as an individual is to have your beliefs challenged. They don't want their beliefs challenged, and they're trying to bend the way the world works around their extraordinarily naive viewpoints. They're in for a rough life unless they can learn to be honest with themselves.
  22. I must have laughed for at least five minutes after that bit.
