  1. Yeah, EJ threw 7 out of 8 good passes, but let's concentrate on the 1 bad one. Now that's cringe-worthy.
  2. I'm sure she'll be able to explain this away with another of her "the dog ate my homework" excuses. It IS a vast right wing conspiracy after all, everybody knows that.
  3. Was anyone else surprised Tuel Time didn't get in their first game?
  4. My theory is that Rex and Greg called these passes because they are hard and to see how Tyrod would do with them. Based on what I saw on TV, they both looked close but not close enough. Thanks. I'm a little hesitant to take someone's word on it. Maybe they're right, don't know. Hopefully Tyrod hits a few NFL man passes the day after tomorrow.
  5. I've been meaning to ask this. I keep reading that Tyrod's passes to Goodwin and Thompson in the EZ "hit them in the hands". Could you see this on TV? I couldn't. They only showed it once and didn't show a close up. I watched them both several time and could not determine if they did or not. Could you? I'm not even sure they got one hand on either one. Or is there some close up picture showing where the football was? What did you personally see? Tasker siad Goodwin should have caught the first one so I'm gonna go with that. Looked to me that both passes were close but not perfect. Close is good in hand gernades and horseshoes. I thought all 3 guys played very well. I just need to see Tyrod hit some passes that are longer than traveling 10 yards in the air. The running stuff is fun, but not a sustainable way to win IMHO. Whoever Rex picks, I'm on board 100%.
  6. I don't have a candidate that "I want". I want whoever gives us the best chance to win. If stats can be used to tear one guy down, why not all of them? Especially if taken in a small sample size, like the last 5 games.
  7. I guess I was thinking of the first game last year where he was 17 for 25 with 2 TDs and a 113.8 rating in a rout. This was when they still had AP. The next game was pretty bad and the next game he got hurt. But if we want to go by stats to show who has potential to be a good starter, let's also consider Tryrod Taylors' career numbers: 19 for 35 with 0 TDs, 2 picks, and a 47.2 rate. Inspires confidence.
  8. How do you know this? Looked to me on Friday like Greg is putting in stuff for each QB suited to his talents. Drop back, short to medium passing for Matt. A lot of designed runs and short passing for Tyrod, and a more traditional passing/running attack for EJ. The word on Greg Roman since even before we signed him is he tailors his offense to who his players are. He did that in San Fran as they ran a drop back passing game for Alex Smith and then put in all the running stuff when Colin K got in. So why would he now decide to shoe horn some offense down EJ's (or any of our QBs) throat that doesn't' suit him? I read on here often that Roman want to run a running QB offense and that's what he likes. He didn't run that at Stanford, because he had Andrew Luck. He didn't run that the first year and a half with Alex Smith. When he got Colin K he did. If Tyrod shows he can pass, then he could be the nstarter and run frequently. If he doesn't, then one of the other guys will run an offense that doesn't feature the QB running the football. And I suspect it will be effective with whichever of these 3 guys gets to start.
  9. Winning is exciting and if he can't make the throws, while he may be "exciting", our season W/L record won't be.
  10. I disagree completely. First off, Cassel started off well last year and then got injured. Over the past 10 years I would say your theory would make sense. The team is not that good nor does it have great talent, so roll the dice. Right? What ya gotgot to lose? But that's not us anymore. Now we are coming off of a winning season. We're fat with talent. If we can get decent QB play (along with everything else) we can maybe even take this thing. So you're gonna roll the dice with an "unknown" at QB? I'd rather go with the guy that gives us the best chance to make the playoffs THIS YEAR. Whoever that is whether he's old, young, skinny, fat, or even Cassel. I agree. This thing is far from over IMHO.
  11. Did you miss the catch in the Vikings game last year. He doesn't haul that in, we lose.
  12. Goodwin is an easy cut for me. He can't stay healthy. His hands are iffy.
  13. That's what everyone says, but it's not a hard and fast rule. I've seen starting QBs go a series or two or 1 quarter. I wouldn't be surprised to see EJ start the 3rd game either. We gotta get through Thursday's game first.
  14. Win Wynn out? Bummer man. Perhaps we look outside for a replacement? IK getting pancaked by number 11 makes me nervous. Number 11?
  15. Rex said after he announced Cassel would start game 1 he'd let one of the other guys start game 2 and go from there. He's sticking to the plan.
  16. Allow holding on running plays. Give teams that don't have 1 of the 15 freaks in the world who can effectively play QB in the NFL a chance too. Allow contact between DB and WR except when the football is in the air.
  17. Cutting any one of the top 3 in order to keep Simms sounds ludicrous to me. Who cares if someone else might want him? He's just a guy. I'm really hoping we keep all 3 of these guys. Cassel and EJ have injury histories. TYrod hast played, so who knows? I don't want to be the Arizona Cardinals this year. They're all good enough to win games for us IMHO.
  18. In order to be"Russell Wilson Dangerous" he has to be able to pass well too which Friday night he didn't show he could. The one Goodwin across the field was his best pass of the day IMHO. WHEN I SEE HIM DROP BACK AND Hit A 15 YARD sideline pass or one 15 yards over the middle then I'll start to billeive in TYrod. The running stuff is fun, but it's not sustainable or a formula for winning IMHO. Not saying he can't, just wanna see it. Thursday I hope.
  19. Jack Nicklaus' grandson also dropped one in stride on the numbers.
  20. Agree to disagree. The one to Goodwin may have been miscommunication. Goodwin maybe should have zagged instead of zigged, but it didn't like a perfect pass nor did it look like Goodwin got both hands on it to me. They never showed a replay. Maybe you're right and he did, not sure. The one in the EZ landed out of bounds. Looked far from "perfect" to me.On the last drive he badly overthrew a long pass. I'm not dogging him. But I need to see better passing before I climb on the TYrod bandwagon. Or until he gets in a regular season game. Go Bills !!
  21. If their hair is long, yes. Short hair guys leave it on top.
