  1. About five years ago, before the AT&T takeover, they wouldn't give me a break on ST, so I said, that's it, I'm out. They conceded and said they would send me boxes, etc. to send back equipment. The next day, DTV rep calls crying for me to come back, offered a big monthly discount, free ST, and a $300 gift card. I said, fine...I was out but they dragged me back in. Couple of days later, boxes arrived and it took several calls to straighten out the account. Why they just couldn't work with me in the first place was baffling.
  2. We may get away without Morse in Chicago, but he'd be a tremendous loss if he can't play in Cincinnati.
  3. Yeah, that's one downside, small as it will be. I figure I'll save $57/month by going to YTTV...that's $684/year. Even if ST winds up costing ~$400, it's still a savings.
  4. Article says DirecTV Red Zone may be axed, not Red Zone entirely, as the NFL has this product as well. I'd be fine with that...Siciliano talks over the game announcers way too much, and I find it especially annoying when they have multiple games up on the screen.
  5. A couple of questions that will need to be ironed out before September: Will Red Zone be included in the new ST? YTTV now has Red Zone but it's part of a premier add-on package. Will there be college student discounts available as is now the case with DTV? Will games be available ala-carte? This sounds less likely given the preliminary information we've gotten today.
  6. About a month ago, I was talking to my brother while he was watching the Bills game locally on YTTV and I was watching the game via ST here in Virginia. I was about a play ahead of him at the time...I yelled when the Bills intercepted and he hadn't yet seen the play. A couple of weeks ago when the Bills were on Amazon, I had to watch the first few minutes on my phone, got back to the house and the phone was more than a play ahead of the TV...weird.
  7. Me on the morning of Jan. 9: "Hello DirecTV, cancelations please." DirecTV: "You are caller number 732...please stay on the line."
  8. Unlike @nucci, I got ST free this year, but still pay about $125 a month for DTV, with no other add-on channels. YouTube TV is about $65/month with most of the channels I need other than History and MASN. The $60/month I'll save should easily pay for the new ST package. Making the DTV "cancel call" the day after the season ends, but I think there will quite a wait to get a customer service rep.
  9. DirecTV customer service reps will miss @nucci
  10. I'm in the DC area...Robinson is good, Gibson is not.
  11. Gifts are meant to be opened Christmas morning.
  12. Was just listening to 70s on 7 on SiriusXM and these two classics came on...haven't heard either in quite some time.
  13. Nothing changes. Saturday's slate of games NOT nationally or locally televised are on ST.
  14. Sadly, this will never happen. Even though the NFL makes billions off ST, they'd rather have you watch the game broadcast OTA in your area and, due to pressure from network affiliates, for you to consume the local commercials. The NFL turns a blind eye toward ST, they don't have to do anything but cash Amazon's or Google's checks each season, smile and say "Have a nice day."
  15. RIP Louis Orr https://www.syracuse.com/orangebasketball/2022/12/louis-orr-former-syracuse-basketball-great-has-died.html
  16. My ticket stub from the 1990 AFCC game vs. Raiders reads $40...I recall my sister picking up our tickets from Marine Midland Bank in Rochester with little to no service charge...
  17. If you live in the Nashville area, why were you surprised the Titans game was shown over the Bills? And why go to Olive Garden for Italian? That's like going to BWW for wings.
  18. Get the free YouTube TV trial for a few days, then cancel. They have NFLN.
  19. Matt likes to jackknife passers Tua's ribs are in danger Ralph is cheap
  20. Didn't Greg Cosell say the exact thing a couple of weeks ago? Yawn...
  21. And didn't get the Sunday Ticket discount this year...
  22. Starting in 1978, all illegal blocking fouls (except personal fouls) were reduced from 15 to 10 yard penalties. https://www.footballzebras.com/2019/10/nfl100-90-year-old-rules-made-for-a-different-game/
