Apple might get Sunday Ticket
Ned Flanders replied to Buffalo Boy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dang, way too early for ST steals and deals folks...mid-late August is when DTV turns on the coupon machine. Let's revisit then, shall we? Besides, I always wait for @nuccito make his call and I just follow his lead. -
As good a team as any of the 90-93 teams but only dumb losses to Tampa Bay and Indy down the stretch kept us from home field throughout...and I remain convinced that an AFC championship at Rich would have gone the Bills way, and then who knows???? Ah, the "what ifs." The beauty, and agony, of sport. Also, I remember getting tickets for this game at my local Marine Midland bank in Rochester. Other than the Bills ticket office, I think this was the only other ticket distributor. Does that sound familiar or is my feeble mind playing tricks again...which is the probable answer.

Got tickets for Monday night vs the Titans
Ned Flanders replied to DCofNC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Received the same fine treatment there in 2010. Pack fans were gracious the entire weekend and probably a little more so after they kicked the snot out of us on Sunday afternoon. All in all, a great bucket list stop, full of history and great tradition, and I encourage all to get out there sometime. -
OJ’s 1975 Season. Better than ‘73?
Ned Flanders replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was a great YouTube clip with the NFL Films music. Great find, thanks for posting. I was at the game vs. New England when OJ scored four TDs. As has been mentioned, the '75 team was marred by lost opportunities and a porous defense. 8-6 could have easily been 11-3 with some help on the defensive side of the ball. -

John Facenda finally going into the HOF! [Edited]

Sam Spence, the man behind much of the great NFL Films music, belongs in the Hall as well. -
Has anyone ever visited The Ralph just to visit?
Ned Flanders replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was in Green Bay for the 2010 Bills game and the day before, took the Lambeau Stadium tour. Now Buffalo doesn't have as much a history as the Packers, and Orchard Park isn't the Mecca Green Bay is, but we've got enough to put together a nice museum and a regular stadium tour. I think fans, especially on Saturdays before game days, would come to the stadium and enjoy a tour and a decent museum...I don't think it would take a lot on the Bills end, and if you end the tour at the team store, they'll surely reap the profits. -
John Facenda finally going into the HOF! [Edited]
Ned Flanders replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is true, Facenda never uttered the term...it was mimicked by Chris Berman, using his best Facenda imitation. Ed and Steve Sabol, together with John Facenda, formed the Holy Trinity at NFL Films...they were the right people at the right time, and their talents turned the NFL, not into America's pastime, but into America's passion. My generation, us old geezers in our sixties, began our love for the game thanks to this magnificent trio. -
Nov. 26, 1978 Terry Miller had himself a Day!
Ned Flanders replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brookshier comparing Miller to Gale Sayers... Tough day for the ticket "sellers" along Mile Strip... -
Great museum. Was down to NOLA a couple of times for work and only got to spend four hours there once when it was just the D Day museum. As you said, it's expanded to include all of WWII now...I'd love to see it some time.

I seem to recall the Bills were up 14-0 to Atlanta and in the second Colt game in 1980. -

Dolphins at Bills 1980 season opener (Full game)
Ned Flanders replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've always thought this. I was at the Colt game at Rich after the great win in San Diego. When the Bills were coming out onto the field, a bunch of us were standing over the tunnel, all chanting "Six and O!" The Bills offense never really got going in that game, and you're right, winning either game in 1980 over a mediocre Baltimore team would have given the Bills homefield throughout. -

I was there and part of the field stormers after the game...I of course remember the goal posts coming down and people ripping up pieces of turf to have as souvenirs (the next week's home game against the Jets, you could see where the patches were laid). Really an unforgettable game, one of the top five I've been lucky to be at, and dang, was it ever hot! -
2013 Bills Season Defining Moments

I was at the Cleveland Thursday nighter...never had worse abuse as a visiting fan than that game.
